    There's another important lesson for people to learn here; the dynamic between these two is that they don't mind calling things out, never be embarrassed about it. The back and forth in this about keeping a check on each-other is gold, done with respect.
    Keep on keeping on you fine chaps!

    • @LV_223
      @LV_223 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I am not a pilot (hope to be one day, just a lowly aerospace engineer at the moment) but this sort of attitude applies to all sort of things other than aviation. Having this sort of dynamic with your coworkers, family, friends…anyone you know and work with on a regular basis can be extremely beneficial for accomplishing goals. This video is educational on a much larger scale than just IMC flight.

      @@LV_223 I've read a few replies to comments before many which are inane, but you took that one to another level. Good job! Work on becoming a pilot.

      @@kevinwells4986 Not going to lie, when I first read your response, I thought you were calling me stupid. That I responded with an inane comment on a whole new level of inanity lol.
      But thank you for the kind words! As with most things, it's all about the money. Slowly but surely saving up to be able to attend a decent local flight school.

    • @kevinwells4986
      @kevinwells4986 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LV_223 Yeah, sorry about that. I just read it again, and I see your point! I need to go to bed earlier, but now-a-days I'm in bed to often. I hope you get into the air and I hope you have fun. I miss it. I'm thinking about it, but then again I'm thinking about a great many things as I have too much time to do that. Good luck LV.

    I was a JTAC but in the British Army, one thing I witnessed from the ground was whilst in Iraq, I had called in a US 9 line for one of our guys who had life threatening injuries & had to at the same time try & coordinate a pair of British Army AH64s that we had come in to act as protection for the US Med helicopter, we had a pre-known brown out conditions which had been hampering us for days, I knew the AH64s were in opposite wheel turns from each other, the US Case-vac helicopter all of a sudden called blind & had to reset for another run at it. I felt physically sick thinking that it just wasn’t going to all workout & everyone was on different radio nets to further hamper us. Luckily by the 3 aircrews shear skill & bravery managed to make it workout in the end but that was one of my worst ever days, but watching this helps me understand just how deadly these type of conditions can be.

    Love it just before 6m where Lester sings the lead bits of the theme tune, just as you were departing. It was like an old cop show hearing the theme being riffed on, in between scene-changes.

    Story at 37:45 reminded me of one of my early cross country training flights. Going from Florida up to NC; landed in Georgia for fuel. Sun had just set, and as I was comming in, I noticed that the runway lights were very dim. Landed, taxied up to the pumps, got out, and looked at my instructor realising just at that moment my sunglasses were still on. Took them off, and said "guess I don't need these anymore." Both of us had a good laugh.

    i was playing kerbal on first person, and i just couldn't wrap my head around the fact that every time i pulled back on the stick i would suddenly speed up while i was climbing, after some confusion i stopped looking out the cockpit and checked the instruments, and i saw the artificial horizon and it was completely brown, no blue at all, i was climbing into the ocean, that happened in a video game, i can only imagine how bad it is when you lose the horizon and your body starts to play tricks on you.

    • @Matt_10203

    Try working the radios and GPS when in IMC by yourself and you will want an autopilot. Most countries don't allow single pilot helicopter IFR. When you throw in all the things in a pilot has to do during an IFR and still control the helicopter. Now if you have two pilots then you should be good.
