Thumbs up if you think LSSC should release all musical performances since ep.1.! The type of content we been asking for since the days of John Baptiste!
I would love to see the Batiste tapes go public from the Late Show, he is the epitome of natural talent, with swagger and spirit. If those tracks are in the public domain I'd love that be shared
Nêgah Santos is an absolute beast on percussion and should not go unnoticed- always playing with a smile and adding to the groove - killer performances all around though
@@The_Green_Queen I have to think that it's prolly playing with Cory again, his timing and the stuff they play as the house band on the show is completely different. Jon feels more at home, too.
Cory Wong is such an excellent player, very pleased he has been featured in the band. Love his contribution, what chops ... what a history as a sideman as well as leader, just spectacular
@SPLIF I agree. I play myself saxophone but only occasionally I am able to get to this mindset. I keep striving for it but you need lots of practice-hours, lots of talent, the rigth kind of people around you and the willingness and courage to let the music guide you in stead of the other way around. However, the few times I almost got to that place was heaven. You can also get there when playing (jazz)-standards as long as there is the room to let the music lead you and you just play like a child plays, just have fun. However, I have never seen it with the over-rehearsed popsongs where every note is predetermined as is every step and move of everybody on stage.
@SPLIF Thanks for the tips. I sure will keep playing!! I started when I was 48. I am 70 now, have still lessons and am still improving. There have been some periods that I couldn't play but I allways came back to it. I practize everyday at least 30 minutes but normally 1 - 1.5 hours. I think it is possible to play without teeth but if necessary I will try to get fake teeth but I am planning to keep my teeth 🙂. I will keep playing as long as I can get enough air out of my longs and my hands and fingers keep moving. If my face muscles get weaker I use a weaker reed. I wish I would meet the people who said I was too old to learn playing sax.🙂 I would love to show them something. By the way I am Dutch that cause explain an occasional strange word, structure or spelling mistake.🎷🇳🇱🚩
Absolutely! I love whenever he (and also Negah) get a break from the Late Show schedule and are able to perform with Cory on the road. Lampley is the ultimate "holy shit, is this really happening right now????' hype man, lol. However, a VERY close second place has to go to Petar (Cory's drummer) because that guy can get a crowd riled up like no other! Oh, and also, he is one of the best drummers I've ever seen/heard in my life and that is not an overstatement at all!
The Bassist take a Bow that was just next level. On an upright say what . AWESOME. ❤And at that tempo . Amazing musician. Great band but the Bass player that was just crazy .
The band has never sounded like this before, Cory had a way to get everything you’ve got out of ya, and that bass player holding it down on an upright like that, that’s usually played on an electric bass guitar folks… God damn, especially when they go to tie four, that was hot music of I every heard any. I wanted to keep turning it up but I’ve got to watch out for my hearing
Outstanding!!! PLEASE keep these "Commercial Breakdown" videos coming. Letterman used to this every so often, but not enough. Love to see Louis's wonderful band, plus the famous, fabulous CORY WONG!
What a joy to see these musicians having so much fun! I don't know if I have ever seen so many smiles (nor so many teeth, lol) in a music performance before. It is beautiful to see the way they cheer each other on as each does a solo in turn, which elicits some energetic (dare I say virtuosic?) solos. They are such skilled musicians and so in sync with each other, it is inspiring! P.S. How does Cory move his right hand so fast on the guitar that it actually blurs? That guy is a maniac! Love it!
Would love to see more of this! When I saw the Late Show in person, the best part was the “commercial break” performance by the band (sorry, Stephen 😅)
In the Pocket, rocket groove blazing into the funkosphere. I vote we let Cory and Company take over the late-show, good times to come. This jamm is spicy, my compliments to all the players nailing down the groove, funk a lish us
So, Nintendo needs to add a LSSC-themed track to Mario Kart 8, and put this song as the track's music. I wouldn't even be mad about getting hit by a blue shell.
this is quite a bit faster than the Wongnotes intro lol. I wonder if Cory said they should play it sped up or if it was just accidental. Either way, it's a perfect take👌👌 well done all around.
The upright bass player is from another planet 🔥 🔥
She doesn’t get enough credit for keeping it as funky as she did the whole time!
Yes!!!!!!!!
Imagine playing upright bass and being told "We're gonna play this song. Yes, it's originally played by Sonny T on bass." And she's CRUSHING it.
@@Vermoot yes!!
The whole band is from another planet

They probably want to save money on the copyright.
Jon Batiste 😊

Batiste, a National Treasure
@@andrew66862 yes we do

Look on her face right at 3:00 when she picked up that shaker and knew it was 🎯
She is amazing... the way she jumps from instrument to insturment and is always on the money. Jaw dropping skills and timing.
Her ecstatic smiling took the video up like 5 notches.
@@The_Green_Queen I have to think that it's prolly playing with Cory again, his timing and the stuff they play as the house band on the show is completely different. Jon feels more at home, too.
An absolute super natural talent, she is on fire. And the primary reason I keep tuning in to the show. Remarkable !
Whoever decided it’s nice to spotlight the band took way too long! 💞
They alway post videos of the band, this isn't the first.
@@ronch182 I am pretty sure Verbal was referring to the solo features of the musicians within this performance. Not the video itself.
Look up vulfpeck
Cory Wong is such an excellent player, very pleased he has been featured in the band. Love his contribution, what chops ... what a history as a sideman as well as leader, just spectacular
Seeing this live was unreal, Cory Wong showing up every now and then injects a different energy to the show
Cory is the weather-man, directing the storm, anyone want to guess the BPM on this jamm? Its in the Mach 4 range
It is fantastic to see how much fun the musicians are having. They are clearly feeding each other.

I could never be in the Late Show audience because I could never contain myself during anything Cory Wong does. Jesus that wind-up call is so tight
Cory is my go-to when I need joy.
Can never go wrong with Cory or Vulf
This definitely makes you realize how awesome Cory's regular band is.
John Lampley is the ultimate hype man with his enthusiasm and facial expressions, plus he is an amazing musician!

@gustafsone 💯! Cory's entire band exudes joy! They're obviously happy to be playing with a great group of musicians!
I came back to this with proper ear/headphones and it definitely gave the bass it’s proper respect.

Cory from the Vulf Peck don't play
She was holding the pace like a serious boss
The bass player going absolutely HAM!!
The funk is strong in this one
Damn right. Funk & Congas at their wedding!
Love Cory Wong! So much fun to see him play with the band, such amazing energy!! That BONGO SOLO!
She plays with the Wong Notes too.

More conga than bongo but amazing nonetheless!!
So much soul on the Congas and Timbales!

More Cory W! Release the entire week's worth of Commerical Breakdowns, pleeeeeeease!
Cory in the national spotlight……looking, and sounding gooood. He belongs in this world! Go CW - from one of your hometown fan boys!!
Everyone killed it but man that keyboard solo was crazy!
It was a real journey
It was but that is what I thougth about all the other instruments.

More please, great to see the full capability of this band! what a bunch of raw talent!
All of this!!
But the bass?? Ma’am!!!! 💚💚
That was pure joy. I had to stop whatever I was doing to focus on this awesome performance.
Outstanding. So rare we get to see this band play for any length of time, and they are always fantastic. Release some recordings!
Yoo … band looks fast forwarded, i mean the energy 🤓 .. i might be in love
So glad Cory got to play with Negah and Jon on the show. Incredible.
Negah records and tours with Cory Wong as well. So does Jon on trumpet.

This is real music.
he doesnt have a wrist lol
reverse slants his pick and uses his fingers as a counterweight so it all blurs, cory's said a big part of it comes down to his unique physiology tho
loving that bass!
The big lady with the Huge bass is MASSIVE 🤯

I always come to LSSC for the monologue and end up staying for the music...
More Ms. Santos, please!!
holy crap what a jam! more please.
Cory and Louis were absolutely fabulous at Lincoln Center last year. Nice to see they got the band back together!
So much talent on stage 😍😍
Would love to see the entire band credited below a video like this. Everyone's killing it
I was getting worried that LSSC wasn't going to feature Cory in a Commerical Breakdown. It was worth the wait. 🎸
That. Was. ENERGY!!! How I would LOVE to see more of these Commercial Breakdowns. Btw, perfect segment title.
This needs to be a regular feature on the LSSC TH-cam channel.
Outstanding jamming and tight as heck! Thanks for sharing the groove!
Wow! This was amazing! Who needs caffeine after that? Love watching how much fun they are having!

I don't know why any other late night show even bothers to front a "band." Louis Cato & Co. OWN IT!.
Do this more often! Excellent!
Super amazing!🎉
That was awesome 🎊 🎉
This is amazing!
So nice that they have trumpet and saxofon in the band.
Hell yeah! Cory Wong and the LS Band. Give it up!!!! I want all their performances dropped.
I’m not a funk fan! But I still say, if the show is going to employ such talent, it should be broadcast.
Please please please more of these this made my day
Thank you for sharing this! One thing that I've always noticed is that the band always seems to be having a good time.
That was SO damn good!!! That was ALIVE!!!!
absolute fire

Play more of the band !!!! Here
those last two solos (keys and sax) were absolutely unnecessarily long, but still sick as hell hahah 😄
it's insane how fast they're going jeez i slowed it down to 0.85x to have it match the studio version
Phenomenal!
