      Indeed. It's a credit to Catherine that she was able to join the monarchy and aristocracy successfully. She and her family faced snobbery, even from William's friends, who mocked her mother's time as a flight attendant. She and the family also endured years of unkind treatment in the media. She has never looked for sympathy. Catherine is tough.

      @@maryk.donovan7912 I feel bad for Harry as it is, but if he ever hits the wall of reality after having burnt his bridges with the RF, his situation will be even more pitiful. I think the RF would welcome him back (minus Meg), but what would happen to the kiddos? She rushed him right on through the process to permanently bind him to her. It would be better for him to maintain his obliviousness throughout his lifetime as the alternative would most likely become an even worse version of Living Hell.

    I am so tired of the endless criticism of Charles, when Diana was no saint. She forced William, still a child, to be her confidant and shoulder to cry on. This hampered his relationship with his father, because when your mother weeps, you react. When she was gone, he was eventually able to see his father as a human - good and bad. The love between them is clear. The fact that he does not go on and on about his mom, shows he was able to move on. Harry, not so much. Meanwhile, William must have known about his mom’s multiple affairs. Charles had the love of his life, it’s time to move on.

      Lucky old Charles. When you're a single Mom you do confide in your children about family matters, there's nobody else to talk to. Have some compassion for Diana too. She wasn't all bad. In fact she was the innocent party. A 19yr old unknowingly getting involved with two mature lovers who lied through their teeth about their relationship so that Charles could use her to breed an heir. I'd say she was the injured party.

    Ironically, Harry & his pals used to mock the Middleton family by saying 'Doors to manual' in relation to Carol Middleton's previous job as cabin crew., a lowly position in life by their standards. And here we are - Catherine has become the consummate royal, through patient hard work, while Harry is out in LA playing second fiddle to his wife. If I believed in karma...

    • @SMRT79
      @SMRT79 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Oh my word! This just reminded me of something - I read an article today about Doria Ragland and her past…the story now is that Thomas was away too much so Doria begged to move to LA so he’d be home more, so they did. But it didn’t work out. Then Meghan ended up living full time with her father (no dates are ever given of course) and it says “while Doria pursued her career” but another article says she went away to get her education…anyways, the article about pursuing her career says she moved away and opened her own travel agency that ended up going bankrupt…then she moved back to California in 2011 when her father died bc she inherited his house and that’s when she went to college and got her degree in psychology with social work…says she graduated in 2015 and went to work at a center there after becoming licensed in 2016 because you have to do 2 or 4 years of work supervised…but then she quit that in 2018 to move to London to be with Meghan and Harry! What’s wild is the following:
      1. The article about her travel agency also mentions she was away often because she was a flight attendant for her travel business. Now my dad was a travel agent and owned his own travel agency in the 80s through the mid-2000s, he wouldn’t have been able to be a travel agent AND a flight attendant- that’s just not possible! He couldn’t book people’s trips then jet off as a flight attendant bc back then if people had issues with tickets or hotels rooms or whatever, my dad had to be available to help! This was before booking vacations online was a thing, he had to work out flights with the airlines and call hotels and arrange cars by phone, there was no online booking so Dorian story is sketchy, yes - but is she WAS a flight attendant- then that’s same as Cathrines mom was so Harry making fun of her mom for that career makes him a jerk and a hypocrite bc he thinks Doria is the Buddha…never hear him saying Doria and Markles were low bc she was a flight attendant.
      2. Catherine’s mom built a successful business that made a great profit and she just retired and sold it for millions…Doris’s business (travel agency) flopped and she filed for bankruptcy and ran back to CA. So Harry is twice a hypocrite!
      3. Meghan talks about how she’s so compassionate bc she grew up watching her mom do social work…hahah! Doria didn’t do “social work” until 2016 and then she did it for 2 years and quit and her license expired and never has been renewed! Meghan was s grown ass woman living in London in 2016, she didn’t grow up watching her mom do social work - the damn liar!
      4. Doris’s now teaching a jewelry making class at the local community college where she lives in her inherited house in CA! Her supposed “social work” business is some sort of shame for money laundering bc you can’t find any info or clients nothing online about it…and it lists Doria as the CEO, VP, and secretary and no other employees or board members! How she teach a jewelry making class at s college if she’s supposed to be doing social work? Hmm…
      Doria is a scam artist and many say she went to jail for 5 years for tax evasion involving her travel business! That’s what happened and now she’s mooching off Meghan and H and helping them launder money and run their Mary-Jane growing business (imo).

You can see it in how they are trying to raise their 3 kids. Harry was always troubled but couple that with a partner who can't deal with that in a mature way and you get what we have now. The whole story is fascinating as it is history happening in real time

Lots of us who grow up in chaos perpetuate it in our adult lives because it’s all we’ve ever known. It takes a lot to embrace a different way of being and that’s very much to William’s credit. He was his father's dear boy. William did learn the important lessons from his mother's and father's life. He learned that Diana had courted the media when it suited her but couldn't get rid of them when she didn't. 100% about Africa!
    I have ALWAYS thought she purposely set up that "charitable" trip to Africa with a hairdresser, photographer and make up person in tow just to eventually brag about it to Harry as everyone knew how much he loved Africa! She was smart and thought ahead should she get the opportunity and meet him one day.
    BUT, i have now even reconsidered if Harry really liked Africa. I am doubting it as this is where one of his girlfriends was from so he went with her several times during that relationship.
    See Harry was ALWAYS a follower, NEVER a leader. It's been said that he fully follows a girlfriend and adopts her lifestyle to his. I think the guy is lost and also doesn't have an original thought in his head just like his wifey.

      I do agree that is wrong for a parent to lean on children for moral support. That goes double when the complaint is about the other parent. Children deserve to have a childhood and both parents. It is cruel to ask a child to split their loyalty. On the flip side, there were not many Diana could confide in. The palace was complicit in Charles' adultery. Nobody protected his wife's interests.

      Yes, spot on 1000%! Said perfectly and of course Harry idolized her - she never told him no and gave him whatever he wanted, and William shielded him from her fits…Harry admits he doesn’t remember much of his mom so he never registered her crying or manic tantrums, he probably just recalls her buying him whatever he wanted or figuring out how to get it to him and babying him! And he wants to perpetuate that feeling bc he never saw a grown up woman acting as a mom, he just had his mom acting as his best friend and showering him with gifts and praise and he could do no wrong. Part of that was she wanted to win the boys to her side - probably saw Charles as coming out the winner in their divorce as he was still going to be king, he ended up w his true love, he had his parents and family, money, fame, purpose…Diana was floundering and had always depended on the men in her life to entertain her and provide, she had not idea what to do with herself but she didn’t want Charles to win everything so she tried to win the boys to her side. It’s sad really.

I can relate bc my parents fought like wild cats and I’d hide in the closet with my little sister and sing her songs or play dolls or tell stories - anything I could so she wouldn’t pay attention to their yelling and be scared…and I’d also try to get in the middle of them or disrupt them by yelling about their fighting to get them to realize what they were doing with two children there that were hearing and seeing it all. My sister grew up protected bc she was born with a deformity and eyesight problems, had brain surgery at 4 months old and had to wear glasses and eye patches and was teased and struggled, so my parents would excuse a lot of her behaviors - she was never mentally affected but her physical struggles made everyone excuse her behavior and she would get away with everything - I was the oldest and “responsible” for her…I’d do her after school chores for her just so she’d not get in trouble when my parents got home, at 12 I was the after school care for her at 7 years old and the helper with my grandmother who lived with us in the last years of her life. I can empathize with William and can see how Harry became what he is. My sister had to hit rock bottom in her 20s before she got right. After my folks constantly bailed her out of trouble, my mom finally took the therapists, counselors, bonds men, lawyers, police, etc. advice to let her hit the bottom to rebuild and that saved her. Harry has always been saved and so his bad behavior has perpetuated into his 40s. Until he learns that hard lesson from experience; he’ll never change. Good episode. I totally agree with you about Diana and Charles being selfish parents. It is not a popular view about Diana-everyone always says how much she cared for her children. I thought to myself when she died-bringing her children on a yacht with her latest man and then going back without them were not the moves of a mother who put her children first. And then not thinking to put on her seatbelt? If she had put their welfare first, she would not have been running around Paris but would have been at home for them throughout their childhood. And confiding in William like he was a friend-very selfish. Maybe what Harry saw in Megan that was like his mother was that they were both selfish children? I do have a higher opinion of Diana, though, because she actually did quite a bit of charity work, and gave hope to many ill people. But as a parent? Sketchy at best. Megan is frightening in her ambitious self-obsession without any moral grounding. But the whole family situation is a lesson in how we must deal with the problems of our own childhood or they will be passed on and on and on. I wonder what problems the Sussex children are going to have to overcome as the next legacies of this dysfunction?

      You do know throughout her life Camilla has been deeply involved with many charities , she just doesn’t invite the press along. When compared to Diana she has quietly done just as much. In addition she has been riddled with arthritis for at least the last 20 to 30 years due to osteoporosis. Physically she is pain every day. She says she shows pictures of herself to her children and grandchildren telling them to look at the physical difference in her before and after having osteoporosis. It runs in families and her mother got so bad that her ribs broke if someone tried to hug her. Don’t fall for the goddess Diana myth. She was just good at self promotion.
      Just before she died her star was very much on the wane , she had dropped a lot of her charitable work and people questioning the fact that she was always on holiday, without the boys , with Dodie.

    You are so right about them sharing too much with the boys. The thing that really gets me with Harry is when their mother died my family had recently been through a similar situation that made us feel like we went through it with the boys. On 24/6/97 so just 2 months before my sister in law suddenly passed away at the age of 38. Her children went to school and never saw her again apart from my 4 year old nephew who was with her when she collapsed and miraculously managed to call a ambulance where they told him to go and get a neighbour as my nephew didn’t know the address. My nieces and nephew were 15, 13, 7, 6 & 4 years old so when Diana died we totally relived everything with the boys but none of my brothers children behaved like harry! One thing that did happen though here in the UK was some of the children went to children counselling something that Harry actually said in a interview wasn’t available in the UK when his mother died. How come my nieces were offered it then. He is such a liar. Did he think nobody in the UK could easily debunk this!!

      @@cheeredenise thank you lovely 💖 they are all a credit to our family. They are all adults now as the youngest child is 30 this year! They are have fantastic careers and they never used their mothers death as a excuse to play up. So my brother could get back to work and have a life after his wife died I would look after the 3 youngest ones during school holidays and I didn’t want the 15 & 13 year old to look after their younger siblings. They were dealing with grief themselves without being stuck at home during school holidays looking after their younger siblings. I just didn’t want that for them and I had boys so my nephew spent most weekends with me and we would take him on holiday with us so the little ones had my mum and myself in the background to gently hug my brother so they had mother figures if they wanted but my brother did a amazing job. Some did need counselling and they took advantage of it as soon as they were struggling. We didn’t even need to suggest it to them they saw posters in school etc. funny isn’t it how harry says that he didn’t know if children’s counselling was available in the US around the time of his mother’s death but it wasn’t in the UK yet my sister in law passed away 2 months before princess Diana so he is speaking rubbish. Did he think that there’s no children in the the UK who never had counselling in the 90s or anytime after that date? Also something that totally annoys me about him and his lies that people constantly debunk is that his own mother was massively involved in Barnardos for heavens sake! Are you telling me this beans on toast headed freak had no clue of the resources available or that nobody around him suggested Barnardos when he was acting like a complete moron? I mean Of course King Charles weighed it up and thought it was better that Harry bombed around acting like Paul Gasgoine then it was to get him some help? Come on that sounds bonkers. Of course they would of helped him rather than spend their lives with him acting like a petulant Brastardo embarrassing everyone and humiliating the queen! I just can’t with this idiot when my nieces and nephew went through loosing their mother , some were a lot younger than him although to be fair my 4 year old nephew was probably more mature and these kids didn’t find every excuse to throw shade at everyone!!

And we can’t hold people in the past to a modern standard. It’s unintelligent and it’s bad study of history, so I don’t mean to suggest I AM holding him to todays parenting methods (which have plenty of flaws too).I think he loved them as he knew how to do, and unfortunately sometimes love can be expressed as indulgence. Charles probably interpreted a heavy hand as being misguided, especially if he had resented the heavy hand that often fell on him growing up. I think the pendulum swung in the opposite direction as he worked to father his boys and in a desire to be gentle, he allowed wayward behavior hoping they would grow up eventually.

  • @JJ-of1ir
    @JJ-of1ir ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Diana was diagnosed with a very painful personality disorder before she married. Both she and her sister suffered from an eating disorder too. Diana came from not just a broken home, but an abusive home - curtesy of her father. Diana's mother didn't bolt, she tried to keep the children with her, but her own mother (Diana's Grandmother) testified against her own daughter during the divorce because she felt the children should stay in the home of the titled father. Diana was badly damaged by her childhood. She became emotionally unstable, compulsive, erratic and enormously destructive. Her mood swings in a single day were bewildering. She herself suffered badly through her mental struggles, which also brought her a growing paranoia. Everyone around her suffered along with her.
    Diana told Charles fairly early on in their marriage that she had fallen in love with 'the love of her life', that they were lovers and she wanted a divorce. The love of Diana's life was her protection officer and they wanted to marry. Charles, according to reports, was shocked. He had thought at that time that they had both been getting through their problems and that both of them had been faithful. He couldn't believe she had taken a lover. They would never be intimate again. After talking it through, Charles agreed to Diana's request for a divorce and said they would talk with the Queen. When they were both out on a visit together news came through that Diana's lover had died in an accident. It was Charles who told her the news, before she could hear it over the radio as it was being broadcast by the BBC. Matters between Diana and Charles unravelled. This information was given by Lady Colin Campbell who wrote two highly acclaimed books on the life of Diana.

I feel immense guilt & regret for the period of time when the children witnessed our stress & weakness. I ideally we would both have done better. But we were in survival mode (my husband contemplated doing the worst). We managed to hold our family together and we talk to our now adult children about it.

    None of us really know why Harry behaves as he does, but I don't fully agree with the view that everyone felt sorry for him and gave him a pass. Between the ages of 7-18, and for much of the year, Harry was at a boarding prep-school and then Eton, and it's not very likely that he would have been allowed to behave like a brat without consequences. These schools are very focused on results - which is what parents pay for - and prince or no prince, no matter how sorry teachers may feel for the child's circumstances, he or she cannot be allowed to become a disruptive influence.
    Harry was a problem almost from the moment he could walk, and his mother's over-indulgence didn't help. Harry himself has said on two occasions that his mother told him that he could do what he wanted, as long as he didn't get caught. I was shocked when I heard that, not only because it's terrible advice for a mother to give her son, but also that Harry didn't even realise that he wasn't exactly crowning his mother in glory. Still - even with that terrible advice, his prep school, Eton and the army should have been able to iron out the brat-like wrinkles, and the fact that they couldn't suggests to me that the problem may be that of a behavioural disorder. If you look at the list of indicators for 'behavioural disorder', Harry ticks a fair few boxes.
