Looks great under the sun with lots of interesting urban details like the dome from home and the church spire, the straight streets connecting the waterfront with wallasey and all these vast lawns in between the water and the neat first line of housing are beautiful, such a great asset! Thanks for sharing
Fantastic footage...what a striking coastline this part of the peninsula has......the occupants of those high rises at the end have incredible views across and along the river
So sad to see the funfair of a bygone era of has been turned into a carpark and a shopping mall.. Typical... I used to love the noise and smell of the funfair.. You used to hear all of the hydraulic pumps off the rockets and Mexican hat and the noise of the bumper cars mixed with the smell of hotdogs and peanuts that was cooked Infront of you. So many childhood memories of the old new Brighton that used to be heaving with people.
stunning footage! one of the best Ive seen thank you, makes me so home sick, Ive been in NZ since 78, but grew up in New Brighton, wish I had stayed now but didn't think I would feel like this, but it just goes to show, ones needs change as one ages and the heart longs for home where one grew up. .
I was born in Ellesmere Port in 1963 and had regular days out to New Brighton with my nan. It was paradise and helped make my childhood idyllic. I live in London now but I’m planning to return back to the Wirral one day soon and New Brighton is where I’d like to live.
@@misterdroneuk Yes, the pool was there. I thought the local people were great, I particularly liked the young women. I was a trainee marine engineer from Glasgow and would like to have stayed on, but I had to join the Merchant Navy. My first ship, by coincidence, was sailing from Liverpool so I stayed the night before joining her in NB and of course that evening with friends at the Tower. My favourite bar was the Criterion.

I spent a year of my life in NB from 1952 to 1953 in my early twenties. I thought it was paradise, especially the Tower Ballroom.
Wow John that was some time ago. It has changed a lot since then of course. Was the open air swimming pool there in 1952.
