However, we should always point out to people who are not familiar with the screaming techniques that "growl" is not a vocal technique, it's just a term that was popularized to describe the low pitch screams.
@Oh Deer - It's not the sound that determines whether it's Fry or False Cord, it's the duration: long screams = Fry, short screams = False Cord. How they sound depends more on the person's anatomical characteristics than on the technique used.
Great reaction guys. I was lucky enough to see Jinjer live about two months ago. Tatiana is a lovely, gentle almost shy person when she talks to the audience but when she performs the storm clouds leave the sky. Cheers from Australia.
Tati has such a wide range, but her "demon" voice is a combo of a growl and a fry scream. Not very many people can do that, but EXTREMELY few can do these type of transitions with such purity. Great reaction, I love to see the family getting involved. Respect brother, keep up the good work.

If you do, I'd point out the juxtaposition between the whimsical references to fireworks, mermaids, angels, unicorns, and parties contrasted with the brutal reality being described, which I take as reflecting loss of innocence. Note also that Eugene, Roman and Tatiana are refugees from the war in eastern Ukraine who left their homes, families, and friends behind because the battle lines would have made it impossible to continue their musical careers.

Yes...As she perfectly puts it, they were made for each other...They fit so well with each other..to come up with the awesomeness they bring to us as of today....But this band wasn't put together overnight, nor were they an idea of Napalm Records...They were just signed in with Napalm a few years back...They started in Ukraine back in 2010, I believe...But their lineup has changed substantially over all these years...Originally it was just another guitarist that's not playing with them anymore...Eugene, the bass player, and a different singer..And also another drummer...They'd had quite a number of drummers through the years...Very early since they started, the original singer left, and then that's when Tatiana joined in...After that, at some point, there were two guitar players, with Roman being one of them, Eugene on bass, and a drummer that's also gone now...The original guitar player left the band to pursue some other ventures, and Roman remained as the only guitar guy...Then later on, the drummer followed through, leaving the spot for Vlad...When he became their permanent drummer, the band became what it is right now...less players, but more cohesion and solidity in what they do...That's Jinjer, in a nutshell...
Never get old - good reaction man and props to your daughter for taking it so well: some people have truly freaked the F out. The band do indeed sound like they're made for each other, but it's been a hell of a rough road getting to this lineup. Check out the band's history on their Wiki page. I am a big fan of the group. All the guys are from Ukraine where I am from. They were formed in 2009 in Gorlovka, Donetsk (this is where Ukrainian war broke out in 2014). They are the best Ukrainian metal band and the only one that got so many international recognition. I never met them personally (hopefully one day) but I dated a girl who’s a singer herself that knows them and actually jammed with them in studio couple of times before they got big internationally (and I am extremely jealous of her in a good way).
Yes! If you’re going to watch some live, I highly recommend their jerky released concert from Melbourne. I went to the Sydney gig on this tour - these guys are incredible live...

In regards to the dislikes thing, a band like Jinjer will get hate because of how popular they are. Pisces is probably the biggest metal song on youtube because of the reaction scene, and so people will dislike it either because a) They dislike it genuinely; b) they want to be separate from the group: or c) they are tired of seeing the band everywhere haha.
Any new metal band or an old metal band doing new stuff will always get hate.Because a lot of Metal and Rock fans have a stick up theirs. Obsessed with the past.

It's mostly Floor Jansen fans (I refuse to call them Nightwish fans), they also have the habit of descending on the comments section of any video with a female metal singer to moan that Floor Jansen is better than anyone else. And they really don't like people like Tatiana so much, as a singer, as a person and as someone to just look at. It's gotten so bad I can't even listen to newer Nightwish songs anymore because it reminds of the YT comments section. You should see what a mess they made of videos with Tarja post Nightwish. It's sad when fanbases get toxic.
The band is brilliant and the musicians are top-notch!... but we all know we are here because, despite of all that, Tatiana has rare talent!... It's like everything before, during and after an hurricane!

I am a big fan of the group. All the guys are from Ukraine where I am from. They were formed in 2009 in Gorlovka, Donetsk (this is where Ukrainian war broke out in 2014). They are the best Ukrainian metal band and the only one that got so many international recognition. I never met them personally (hopefully one day) but I dated a girl who’s a singer herself that knows them and actually jammed with them in studio couple of times before they got big internationally (and I am extremely jealous of her in a good way).
Yes! If you’re going to watch some live, I highly recommend their jerky released concert from Melbourne. I went to the Sydney gig on this tour - these guys are incredible live...

Don't know if you get to read this but the thing I like the most about your channel is that you make it a point to expose your kids to things they probably would never have seen otherwise. You are fostering CURIOSITY, probably the most important human feature.
Curiosity is the drive that makes you explore things unknown, things you don't understand, and ultimately expands your knowledge of the world you live in. If everyone would be more curious about why other sane people think differently from what makes you comfortable, instead of automatically assuming they are insane or dumb or to be disregarded, I believe we would all benefit.
Foster your children's curiosity, foster your OWN curiosity, and watch your world become a bigger place.

In regards to the dislikes thing, a band like Jinjer will get hate because of how popular they are. Pisces is probably the biggest metal song on youtube because of the reaction scene, and so people will dislike it either because a) They dislike it genuinely; b) they want to be separate from the group: or c) they are tired of seeing the band everywhere haha.
Any new metal band or an old metal band doing new stuff will always get hate.Because a lot of Metal and Rock fans have a stick up theirs. Obsessed with the past.
@@pmaster1173 I'm glad I'm not in that boat. I'm 55 and I love Jinjer, as well as some of the other bands with female leads who sing this way. I love my old school music (Pink Floyd is my favorite), but if you don't expand your horizons, you stagnate. That's no way to be.
@@tattooedman42 Surely, I'm just saying a lot of rock,punk and metal fans are very harsh. It isn't the same with rap. The "sell out" tag gets thrown around too much in rock and metal though.

It's mostly Floor Jansen fans (I refuse to call them Nightwish fans), they also have the habit of descending on the comments section of any video with a female metal singer to moan that Floor Jansen is better than anyone else. And they really don't like people like Tatiana so much, as a singer, as a person and as someone to just look at.
It's gotten so bad I can't even listen to newer Nightwish songs anymore because it reminds of the YT comments section.
You should see what a mess they made of videos with Tarja post Nightwish. It's sad when fanbases get toxic.

Jinjer is not a product and a brainchild of some record executives. They are an organically formed group, a tight unit forged by passion for music and years of hardships. Your daughter summed it up quite perfectly: "They were all made for each other for this purpose".

Metal growl/screaming isn't using the vocal chords--it usually sounds kinda quiet if not into a mic. It's sort of like a very hard sigh. What's impressive about her growl is the depth and fullness of her scream. She's incredible. Thanks for the reaction!
