Disciplined and deadly Prussian musket fire at Waterloo, after a grueling 24 hour forced march, is what won the day against Napoleon. Not Wellington, who of course gets all the credit in these anti-German times.
@@antonmoric1469 If i hadn’t held my ground and retreated against the French there wouldn’t of been even a chance for the Prussians, incase you didn’t know. The Prussians had gotten defeated earlier, and while Wellington had more men by a few thousand men he did have less experienced men compared to Napoleon and he still managed to hold and fight till the last second.

The 1970 movie of Waterloo, the French Imperial Guard march sounds majestic. During the Napoleonic wars, regardless if Blucher was in the woods or not. The Germans and French had the majesty, and inspirational marches to fight for the fatherland und (lol) motherland. This is coming from a wiseass Cuban American.
I do love me some fife and drum. Never really realized there was stuff other than British and American. People think this stuff is just entertainment, but it's based on the actual instruments that were used to communicate orders on the battlefield and keep the troops in step and in formation.
As YT brought this image of Prussian and Austrian soldiers marching came to my mind. Frederick the Great vs Maria Theresia. Fredericus Rex vs Mater Castrorum
idk how gentlemanly it is to stand 25m away from each other in lines and lobbing metal balls at each other until one is scared enough to run away from seeing his friends being ripped apart by said metal balls
Most of those versions are actually played by Brits or Americans and have nothing to do with the German music tradition, the way of drumming is completely different also the instruments. Just the last marches are played by Germans and are accurate.
I wish they can add this music to napoleón total war, every country with his music war, would be cool
This is in the mods
@@battle_wizzard What mod is it?
@Marc Geerdink There's other songs in this from the early 19th century, even the 18th century.

I usually play Prussia so, this would be great and esp Napoleonic era marches would be lovely.

well it's appropriate,.. given the House of Windsor is really the House of Saxe-Coburg & Gotha

And yes, that would sound pretty good if it was in Napoleon: Total War or Empire.
you can hear this in Darthmod, Empire Total War
The rendition of Preußens Gloria sounds exactly like at a Schützenfest here in Germany! :D

the prussians were the ones that "invented" the precision drilling, utilizing the fife and drums (which originally came out of switzerland)
