BEAUTIFUL CATHEDRAL CEILINGS WITH THE GORGEOUS CARVINGS AND CATHOLIC CHURCHES I KNOW ARE SO BEAUTIFUL BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN INSIDE OF A COUPLE OF TIMES WITH MY LATE GRANDMA WHO WAS CATHOLIC AND I WAS IN SO MUCH AWE WITH THE BEAUTY INSIDE WITH SUCH GORGEOUS ARCHITECTURE INSIDE!!!!!😮
1) The Numbers on the board I am almost certain are hymnal numbers. The cantor (song leader) would announce the song and hymn number so the attendees can find the song in their hymnal books and in case they forgot they could look at the numbers on the board as a reminder. 2) The white switch on the organ more than likely powers the console of the organ. However, the buttons and LEDs on the left side of the organ appear to be a mod that was done later. My guess is because it is an actual pipe organ, those red push buttons are used to start and stop the air compressors that fill the air chambers for the pipes. The Red and Green lights more than likely indicate start and stop conditions for the air compressors and the orange light might indicate either a problem or start/stop sequence in progress. That knob underneath the buttons I believe is a transpose knob to change keys on one of the ranks.
Ever notice how these places have a certain “spiritual” energy within them? It always lingers even long after the church and its congregation have left. Luckily in this case I can sense a very warm and positive energy inside. Must have been a very happy place in its day. Anyhow as for those interesting switches on the organ; the green buttton starts the compressor for the pipes and the red one stops it. Meanwhile the selector switch controls a set of tubular bells known as the “Mayland Chimes” or “Carillon”. Typically a half hour before the service begins the organist will switch this on and as he or she plays the keys instead of the pipes producing sound the bells will ring and are amplified through speakers on the church’s roof. This is done to signal to churchgoers the “call to worship” each number on the switch selects a range of octaves on the bells Once everyone arrives then the organist switches off the chimes and activates the green button and the keys switch to the pipes thereafter. Quite a cool system and a super economic alternative to having large traditional bells which are heavy and take up space. I can tell you the system would have sounded beautiful in its day. You can tell many generations of folks have been through this church. Quite an amazing history here. Definitely one of my favourite explores for sure.
A friend of mine Was raised Pentecostal He did not feel welcome after a divorce from his then wife . The last time he's been by the church Somebody moved in and turned it into a home. When he met up with me He was united methodist.He is remarried and he attends I believe another Pentecostal church.
Is what a beautiful church frozen in time. How can someone leave a church like that to go into ruins. That's a playground for the Explorers. It's nice to see that nobody destroyed it.🎉

Yea people stop going to Church cause they might be a bad pastor or the people are messy but folks it's not the Church that's messy it's the people in the Church God's Houses are not bad it's the people 🙏🙏✝️✝️❤️❤️🥺
