I just want to say we are truly thankful for running across your video. All the other methods were hurting my puppy’s ears including coban which almost cut the muscle in the flap of his ear. They were cut a little taller than we wanted and the posting was driving my husband and I and the puppy nuts. Kudos to you this is an amazing method!! Would never do it any other way with a Doberman! Thank goodness for you 😁
You do a beautiful job on that with a wonderful ear crop! My 6 month old pup has a lot of bell and slight irritation in right ear. His left is perfect so far, but when I tape the right, oh my gosh, it always leans over. If I post deep in the pocket, it bothers the irritation. I'm getting nervous about it because that ear has to stay taped and not sure this method will help when he has so much bell. I agree with comments, you make it look easy. My pup is nice and quiet but still, am having a time with that right ear no matter how I post. :/
Nice job! I need to begin this for my Boxer in about two weeks. You make it look so easy. How do you handle a dog that won't sit still for this? And no-one to help!
Is it still possible to make a 1 year old plus doberman ears stand up? or should I post it again and hope they would stand up. and give enough extra calcium
When should I give up on posting? One ear seems to have trouble standing. It’s been 3 months since crop. Should I just stay at it until the ear stands? When does the window of opportunity close? He got cropped at 12 weeks old.
You should continue posting at least through the teething age. Should be done teething around 8 months of age so I always suggest posting until at least then. So you should have at least 2 more months left. Depending on the length of the crop. Some people have to continue posting until 1 yr of age.
Great video, thank you for sharing. I have a question. My dob is almost 6 months. I'm doing half post method using backer rods....no glue only paper tape. I tried doing full post to the bottom but she was not liking it and kept itching her ears. Will the half post method get the same results as posting to the bottom of the ear?
One of the most important things about posting or wrapping Dobermans ears is DONT WRAP TO TIGHT.......If your unsure of what you are doing take the dog to the vet for postings. There are many different ways to wrap and its a matter of preference of products but if your unsure of what your doing just go to the vet who did the crop for wrappings and postings.
You can order Torbots Glue from Amazon, or check with a medical supply store..If ordering from Amazon I would highly recommend purchasing a bottle or 2 of Uni-solve adhesive remover. Hope this helps.

If I can't find Zonas tape, can I use Micropore paper tape instead?

It will but you really need strong basis before switching to it.
Have you ever tried sticking the backer rod down inside your dogs ear pockets?
@@johnettehernandez2728 yes that would be how you normally should post. This is only if your dog has issues inside the ear.
Whats the point of the backer rod?
Thank you!!! So helpful
Is this ok to do long term? The bell of my puppies ears are always irritated and inflamed no matter what method I use. I'm so frustrated.
If it's your only option then yes. Just make sure to have a solid bridge so your ears don't create pockets
How to make the puppy calm and sit down easily while tapping the ears?
Peanut butter

Most vets don't know how to post ears so I certainly wouldn't go to a vet but instead an experienced breeder or a reputable cropping vet.
Can you still use a bumper with the half post?
@@jaime7841 you can but it won't work as well
@@proteakennel2351ok.thank you for your videos.
@@proteakennel2351are all of your Dobies American?
@@jaime7841 no. They have American and European dogs behind them as well as little bit of South American
What glue is that? Where can I buy it?

How maney months age of pupes we can do it.please reply me.regards
I recommend through the first hear cycle at the minimum for females. For sure until they are done teething. 7-8 months at a minimum.
Might as well do full post doing all that
Which is preferred but if your dog has an ear infection you wouldn't want too do that
My dog can’t sit still at all I gave up
