    As a a Jets fan, Avs top 5 scare me more than oilers top 5. Fun and nerve-wracking to watch.
    If you watch the second goal in slow motion you will see Conner did a intentional tap pass back to Schiefle. Great skill.

    Jets fan here... thanks for the props to our boys and to our wonderful goalie in particular. Our boys believe in themselves but I believe what beat the Jets last playoffs was the volume of shots Helle faced. He doesn't seem to get exhausted. The defense in front of him completely let him down in that series.
    We do have the tape from last playoffs now so we do have things to refer back to once that time comes again. But I know as a Jets fan, that these boys take the Avs extremely seriously every time a game comes up. Full respect on who you have on your team, we are well aware of the skill that is on the Avs team. The games are fun to watch and I'm always glad if I can be in the house when the Avs come up to Winnipeg for a visit. :)
    I was going to add that the loss in Colorado came at the hands of our backup goalie as it was a back-to-back.
    As far as the 8 game homestand for Jets, we had a nightmare 13 game travel schedule back in November for the boys so now they get some time back home to play in front of the home crowd. :)
    Wishing your guys success (except when they're playing my Jets, of course).. enjoy the rest of the season. :)

    You guys I think are being too negative about your team. The perspective is that the only thing that matters in the regular season is 1) make the playoffs and 2) find and fix issues before the playoffs. The Avs are a good team. Feel good about them.

    PP has to do something different. Everybody in the league including their grandmothers knows Makar feeds it back to Mack, then Mack attempts to blast up the ice and gain the zone, dump it back to drouin or mitts then cycle it low/ high , high/low to and fro for a whole 2 minutes and register no shots on net. MAYBE if they’re lucky get a shot from the bumper. That’s it
    That’s the PP in a nut shell. PP has to be more unpredictable.
    As far as depth I still think we just don’t have it or if we’ll ever have it since we can’t stay relatively healthy. It’s so hard to keep track of who’s injured. Once Mikko Makar and Mack are shut down, we’re pretty much cooked and that’s where we fall short every time since ‘22. I Miss Naz

    MacK admitted, in the past, they hide PP looks from possible playoff matchups. He knows what to do vs double teams as well. I think this was a game where he gave their video team nothing. Mikko had two golden chances early & if one scores its a different game. The big letdown was Mittelstadt & his total inability to win puck battles; he needs to get it together!

      As a Jets fan, I can say that we have 5 playoff games against the Avs to look back at in the playoff round last year to refer to if we want to figure out how to beat the Avs. Every secret was revealed in that series.

    This is the first time our coach has ever put a defensive Dynamo like Lowry with an offence of threat like Ehlers, why the jets haven’t done this before makes me wonder, the avs had no answer, the rest of the league is gonna realize how deadly the line is, lowry spend that much time in your zone that is very dangerous when you have a player like ehlers that can score from anywhere

  • @timkelly6463
    @timkelly6463 14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Its not the drop pass itself that bothers me the most. Its Nathan MacKinnon's utter insistence on passing that puck to the wing right before he enters the zone. 31 teams in the League understand that he will do that 95% of the time now. What ever happened to the one-man entry from 29? We know he can do it. But he continues to defer and make it that much more difficult to get set up in the O zone.
    Also, does he just not want to score goals this season? He's carving himself a cozy little reputation as the ultimate assist man, even though he JUST scored 51 goals last season!!

    Also i dont think helley was the main reason it was a shout out the defense was playing fast and hard. We just got our #2/3 defenseman back(samberg) and he makes a huge difference.
    I agree with you. The avs Game plan shouldve changed. (Not ina Rude way)

    The Avs have one effective line and the Jets frustrated them all night. This was as demoralizing as a regular season loss could be for the Avs. I enjoyed watching the big 3 slamming doors and breaking sticks and muttering on the bench all night.

    All teams that are behind 2 or more goals heading into the third feel defeated already against the Jets.
    The Jets also realized they were are on Hockey Night in Canada.
    Lots of parity and good teams playing each other now, can’t win them all unless you’re the Montréal Canadiens in the 70s.

    Connor Hellebuyck will help the United States win gold in the four nations playoffs... Avalanche just can't beat him. Nate Dogg can't score on him, Cale Makar can't score on him, and is the best American goalie in Canada.

    Too bad there isn’t a U2 concert that can get canceled. The Avs inconsistencies are getting too noticeable. I honestly think the win against the Wild was a fluke because they were missing key players. The league knows the Avs playbook. I’m not a “fire Bednar” bandwagon seat warmer, but he has to realize the “system” just isn’t cutting it anymore. They need a fresh perspective, and absolutely a new PP coach or if they don’t have one, Christ, get one. This might be a hot take, but I’d healthy scratch our top guys just to see how the depth plays out. Find the weaknesses and make them stronger. It’s “Cale, Nate, Mikko and the Colorado Avalanche. Without them, the team is mid at best and that just won’t win Cups. Love the boys to death, but something’s gotta give.

    • @LockedOnAvalanche
      @LockedOnAvalanche  13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      In fairness, the system has kept them up in the standings despite more injuries and bad goalie play prior to the goalie trades

    Nate needs to stop going for that 100 assist season and start shooting the puck! I wonder if he'll lead the league in turnovers and giveaways by the end of the season. To me it looks like he has close to 20 turnovers a night. Everybody give the puck to Nate so he can get in the zone and wing a blind back hand pass to the other team or the boards. He's turning into a one trick pony at this point. Doesn't matter to me that he leads the league in points. I believe he would have 20-30 more points at this point if he decided to actually play hockey and shoot.

    • @LockedOnAvalanche
      @LockedOnAvalanche  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I wouldn't say stop going for it. If you're dishing assists you're helping your team score. But the turnover problem for him is very real.
