Pierre Bell if you have watched the whole series you would understand. Lee,shino,neji,Temari could’ve gotten way more character development and should have in shippuden. Temari is prolly the second best written female character which is sad because she is not essential to the plot and the rest I mentioned I feel are very powerful and never got the shine that they should’ve got.

but remember that rock lee didn't open all the gates because the fight was stopped early for safety reasons, if lee unlocked all the gates he could of died or he could of killed gaara. Lee wasn't using full strength

But also if gaara's tailed beast came out it would probably be bad news for lee even on the 8th gate. It's not worth it someone would of died and it probably would of been lee although the fight would of been much different, I can imagine lee winning most the fight until his body can't take the gates any more because it takes a toll on the body you have a time limit with it

Not really. After the Cell Saga he bounced back and became the strongest non-fusion character in the entire show. Then Dragon Ball Super came around and he became useless again... SSJ3 Goku comes no where close to Ultimate Gohan.

If you took Ultimate Gohan out of the Buu Sagas, it wouldn't really matter. He didn't help move the overall plot of the story forward at all. Cuz of that, I would argue that that's wasted potential. (same goes for fusions in DBZ)

Wasted Potential: GILDARTS - fairytale - Literally they said he has one the most broken power in the show. When he comes back into town, after a S Class Mission, they had to raise up the whole entire city ,with a pathway to the guild, so he didn’t “accidentally” destroy it when he returned. Then they have him do a couple things then hoe him during the later arcs when his clearly around. And must I say “THEY SAID HE IS THE STRONGEST IN THE AWHOLE GUILD”. How did gohan have wasted potential? Toriyama never intended for gohan to be like goku (him becoming the new protagonist after the cell games is a myth). Gohan never liked to fight, he only did it put of necessity. And when it wasnt necessary, he stopped.
@Fusion Plays He killed goku in the saiyan saga too. He killed ALL the zfighters in the HOT timeline. Gohan wasnt the protagonist in either of those, so why would anyone expect him to be the protagonist in the main story. Gohan's character arc is learning to harness his hidden power so he could fight when necessary. It's been explained several times that Gohan never intended to be a fighter. Goku wanted him to be strong in case he HAD to fight.

Haki was invented by that point at least. It's foreshadowed when Shanks saves luffy, mantra in Skyepia is observation haki, and when Shanks confronted Whitebeard, the subs said he used haki when entering.

Crocodile, in the third fight between him and Luffy, was about to mention if he had haki when Luffy punched him without using water. It was vaguely mentioned by Blackbeard in Jaya after he saw Luffy's updated bounty. It is called mantra in the sky islands meaning different terminology is used to distinguish the different settings between the blue and white sea (another example could be verth and earth/dirt). We saw Luffy tame Duval's bull using conqueror's haki before they reached Sabaody. Rayleigh used conqueror's on the guards at the auction house, he also blocked Kizaru when he was about to attack Zoro which we've established that he can't be touched by any basic physical attacks when he arrived. We saw armament coated arrows in Amazon Lily, we saw the Boa sisters use two different types of haki (observation and armament), and another display of Luffy's conqueror's... We also saw haki being used in Marineford by the admirals when they blocked whitebeard's attack, etc. My point is that haki has always been a factor, it's just that we had questions more than answers plus the Straw Hats didn't really encounter many enemies that used haki like they do in the New World. Maybe he didn't know how to display it or we had to see it once the crew(mainly Luffy) knew how to use haki.

Hinata was wasted because not only did she have the byakugan and did literally nothing with it but she was also Naruto's future wife but only had two relevant fights throughout the entire main series and the second fight was her backing up Naruto for like 30 seconds. Like I said her best character development was in a filler. That might be excusable for some of the other side ninja but not the future wife of the MC.

Honestly speaking I didn't even need her to be a "strong female character" though I do believe she had the potential to grow into one. I would have been happy if they at least gave her character and relationship with Naruto as much of a focus as Sakura and Sasuke got. Even without being strong I just felt that she was an interesting character that deserved more development.

i feel like the third hokage was wasted potential. He lived after the first and second and ninji were still calling him the "God of shinobi". After we saw how savage the first and second were i just expected to have more from sarutobi. One, i felt he should have been reainimated in his prime. madara was. And if he could even half hang with his predecessor he should have had more than just elemental jutsu and shadow clones, especially when all the other villages have multiple kages with kekegnekais.

Hiruzen knew all villages in the jutsu (like Hashi and Tobi knew every jutsu....) But he has no feats, neither from his prime nor what we have seen in the show, that even puts him on level with them. I might get a lot of hate for this but Ino really should be on this list. She can take over the minds of her enemy, dive into their memories. Connect hundreds of shinobi's minds together and is a medical ninja. In all honesty, she was only made weak to make Sakura look better. Being a Jonin her taijutsu should have been way better than it was. Probably as good as Sakura when she fought 100 puppets. Ino had way more potential than Sakura ever will.

With her being a young sakura at the time and a jinjuriki when she grew up she would have been one of the strongest in the leaf when naruto came around. Rin could have had a lot more to her and so could Obito. But Obito is literally the only character i can imagine being able to set forth all of the events to lead to the war. And he was only able to because of what Madara told him. Obito had to see Rin die for him to be able to truly desert the leaf village.
Orihime is a character wasted potential and for everyone that thinks she is weak than think again because the girl can literally restore every living thing that isn’t dead yet to how it was before and if she had a more strong personality she could make subaki a million times stronger and faster than a bullet but is because of her soft personality that subaki her only attack power she has is literally weak besides she has a shield that lets you land in the ground without any kind of problem from any kind of high whether the highs is really damn high or not and that’s what makes me think she has wasted potential🤔😩

How did gohan have wasted potential? Toriyama never intended for gohan to be like goku (him becoming the new protagonist after the cell games is a myth). Gohan never liked to fight, he only did it put of necessity. And when it wasnt necessary, he stopped.

Gohan wasnt the protagonist in either of those, so why would anyone expect him to be the protagonist in the main story. Gohan's character arc is learning to harness his hidden power so he could fight when necessary. It's been explained several times that Gohan never intended to be a fighter. Goku wanted him to be strong in case he HAD to fight.

We saw Luffy tame Duval's bull using conqueror's haki before they reached Sabaody. Rayleigh used conqueror's on the guards at the auction house, he also blocked Kizaru when he was about to attack Zoro which we've established that he can't be touched by any basic physical attacks when he arrived.
We saw armament coated arrows in Amazon Lily, we saw the Boa sisters use two different types of haki (observation and armament), and another display of Luffy's conqueror's...
We also saw haki being used in Marineford by the admirals when they blocked whitebeard's attack, etc.
My point is that haki has always been a factor, it's just that we had questions more than answers plus the Straw Hats didn't really encounter many enemies that used haki like they do in the New World. Maybe he didn't know how to display it or we had to see it once the crew(mainly Luffy) knew how to use haki.

Hinata was wasted because not only did she have the byakugan and did literally nothing with it but she was also Naruto's future wife but only had two relevant fights throughout the entire main series and the second fight was her backing up Naruto for like 30 seconds. Like I said her best character development was in a filler. That might be excusable for some of the other side ninja but not the future wife of the MC.

Honestly speaking I didn't even need her to be a "strong female character" though I do believe she had the potential to grow into one. I would have been happy if they at least gave her character and relationship with Naruto as much of a focus as Sakura and Sasuke got. Even without being strong I just felt that she was an interesting character that deserved more development.
