Huge Maitreya Buddha, unprecedented in Vietnam

6,688 sandstone pieces are assembled into a 36m high statue
The Great Maitreya Buddha statue on the top of Ba Den Mountain has a height of 36m, maximum width of 45m, surface area of 4,651m2, weight of 5,112 tons. The giant Maitreya Bodhisattva is shaped in a sitting position, with a gentle face, a joyful smile, a chubby appearance, and a rosary around his neck. Compared to the largest Maitreya Buddha statues in the world created from stone, the Maitreya Bodhisattva Statue at Ba Den Mountain is the largest sandstone Maitreya Buddha statue in the world.
