You have to buy from sellers with 10k+ sales on TCG player; they’re scared to send cards completely trashed because they wanna keep a good rating. Even “damaged” from those sellers are typically pretty solid
agreed- unless you want to grade a card, if it's an expensive one i'm totally fine buying ones thats creased or scratched if it bumps hundreds of dollars off of the price. i've bought some really nice MP vintage cards off of tcgplayer that look very nice in my binder.
Agreed. Plus if the damage is mostly on the back of the card, you won't even tell the difference. That's one way to get some rare-ish cards in your collection without breaking the bank lol
I agree. If i want a card for my collection I don't care if it's slightly damaged. I don' have the money to get anything graded. I have a lot of the base set with a few damaged but I'm happy I have them.
My fiance and I were going through her old cards and found a gold star mew in pretty great condition. The fact that it was still $200+ with that kind of damage is wild
I'm pretty much looking forward to you grading those cards. Mainly because I have the Neo Genesis Lugia (First Edition) in my collection, but because I've had it since I was about 7/8 years old, it's not in great shape anymore 🙁 but it's still way better looking than the one you received😅
I’ve been wondering what it would look like buying damaged cards from tcgplayer. I don’t wanna get a massive fold in the card and pay double digits for it.
Rev, you may not see this comment but I want to give you some feedback. This video is the exact definition of OG Rev. Fun video idea Rev! Doing more of these would be cool! Like buying the highest priced heavily played or Mod played cards & grading them & comparing prices! Cool cool🤓
Even though most of these cards were in really bad condition, it's still great to have such beautiful cards in your collection. Only the torn back of the card hurt me a lot.
This would be a great way to complete a set of you don’t really care about the card being in perfect condition. Thanks for the video Rev, this was fun!
That foil Umbreon you've got from Neo Discovery, that's literally the ONE card left that I still need for my (numerically) complete Neo Discovery set!!!
These are the kind of cards I want to send in to grade. I collect what I like to call “well loved” cards and my dream is to have a collection of cards with grade 1s.
I can understand the pain of having beat up cards but i feel like that’s what makes a card vintage and worth its value even if it’s not worth anything price wise. It just feels legit and it’s hard to keep super old cards in good condition anyway
Theyre relics at this point and i think it’s a great idea to buy these and give them a new lease of life. It’s nostalgic and takes me back so far, really good to see the old bangers! Cant wait for the drop on how they graded.
Is it me or would anyone else think it would be cool if next fates set was like celebrations but with all the old style shinys from before sun and moon. Some of those old shiny arts look amazing.
I mean you definitely bought MP/DMG cards. You could’ve sorted by LP or NM and bought the cheapest and most expensive available to compare conditions and the video would’ve been more interesting (to me personally) Still a good video and a good idea
I just dont understand why condition is SO important for pricing a card. I mean a swing from from $23 to $2300 just based on condition. There is something wrong about that. I love the character and toning of vintage coins. Heavily played cards have been well loved. 🤷♀️
I'd pay 96 dollars for that Charizard. It's still in pretty decent condition but I'm also the kind of person who finds that sort of condition nostalgic. It's like a card I could have had in my childhood. Always wanted one but never had one sadly.
I’m super curious to learn how these damaged cards come back graded. It might give me hope for some cards of my childhood collection which are in less than stellar conditions.
Can't imagine people handling their cards like this. Some of the best cards ever in these conditions, it's pretty bad to see. Looking forward to seeing the grades each one will get!

You are right, cause I am one of those sellers 😂
11:13 “they actually let him cook”had me dying😂
Good binder pieces for the most part. I got my base set charizard for about $120 - it's pretty banged up, but it's nice to see in the binder.

Back in grad school I picked up a base set ‘zard for 20 bucks (circa 2013). Got it graded and it’s a psa 5. I think it gives it charm!

BATMAN cameo 18:32 “ MORE PADDING” in a guttural deep serious voice lol
The Lugia: “I’ve never seen a holofoil bubble up like that” 😂😂😂 I cracked up
I died at “the card was cooked”
lol

My fiance and I were going through her old cards and found a gold star mew in pretty great condition. The fact that it was still $200+ with that kind of damage is wild
this is how my entire childhood collection looks like

Wow this is my favorite video you have made!! Lol I always catch myself looking at cheap old cards and consider the risk and gamble 😅
I would still love to have that base Charizard
sadly my dad laminated all our first edition cards back in the day Charizard included sadge
Imagine moving from cali to oregon and during the move 0 cards made it because of parents lol@@KeybreakHC

Which site is this bought from?
he shows it at the start
This is how all my cards look from back in the day. Nothing like just throwing them in your backpack before riding the bus, no protection or anything
I mean, PSA 1 cards are definitely collectible in their own right! PSA 2s on the other hand…
In the realm of looks 1’s are as rare as 10’s.
Any card can become a 1, not every card can be a 10. 1 collectors are weird asf
3:49 Still so good. The artwork seems immaculate, maybe some scratches
I have that Umbreon and it came back as an 8. Was really hoping for a 9 😢
If you think it has potential for a 9 you can try resending it in or using another grading company 😄
8:48 the last card I'd ever expect is a Mr. Mime. 😂
Pokerev If this comment gets 1.000 likes. You have to make a stream of all the japanese Pokémon sets.
These cards are actually great for people who wanna put the cards in binders, for example, to complete a vintage set
Done and every like on this comment I will do a push-up
12:23 shiny PokeRev voice crack appeared! (love your videos man I treat voice cracks in vids like shinies)
19:45 theres another one here lol
There is a lot of psa 1 cards lol
No
Dumb
His reaction to the back of the umbreon card was perfect 😂😂
Looking at the gyarados made me realize how reminiscent lugia v alt art art is to it, pretty cool to think about
To be honest these cards have a story behind them so its kinda wholesome
The Lucia reveal had the same energy as the Godfather…look what they did to my boy! 11:13
Tbh sometimes for me it doesn't matter the condition I love buying someone childhood cards brings so much character to them so much fun
Fun video idea Rev! Doing more of these would be cool! Like buying the highest priced heavily played or Mod played cards & grading them & comparing prices! Cool cool🤓
Props to Rev always hitting us with creative content
Even though most of these cards were in really bad condition, it's still great to have such beautiful cards in your collection. Only the torn back of the card hurt me a lot.
I actually love this idea because if you just want them gems in your collection and don’t care about resale value, it’s a steal!
I'm wondering what causes the black spots on the backs?
where did you buy the cards
This would be a great way to complete a set of you don’t really care about the card being in perfect condition. Thanks for the video Rev, this was fun!
Unboxing videos always help me destress after a stressful day in school😃
This is a good example of price against condition!! Thanks Rev!
is it worth it to send my original 99 ,sets to be graded there only commons ,but most of them in good condition ,i think there set 3 and 4 ?
I love your “hey, don’t do this!” Videos. Your sacrifices are appreciated 👍
That foil Umbreon you've got from Neo Discovery, that's literally the ONE card left that I still need for my (numerically) complete Neo Discovery set!!!
It's always interesting seeing some vintage cards in varying conditions.
These are the kind of cards I want to send in to grade. I collect what I like to call “well loved” cards and my dream is to have a collection of cards with grade 1s.
Liked ✅️ Subscribed ✅️ Commented ✅️ Great stuff Rev!
3:37 He got the worst scam in the Pokémon history
Hold onto that Shining Gyarados. The irony of the water damage might make it worth way more than you’d think.
I can understand the pain of having beat up cards but i feel like that’s what makes a card vintage and worth its value even if it’s not worth anything price wise. It just feels legit and it’s hard to keep super old cards in good condition anyway
That lugia is indeed…. Cooked, that child learned that metal in a microwave is indeed not a good idea.
Base Set Charizard: "What's wrong? That all you got? I can keep going for another round or two..."
this is such a fun video idea- i personally love buying beat up cards because they're cheap and i think they have personality hehe
I’m pretty sure I used to own that shining gyarados. I bought a bunch of them as well as Magikarps in damage condition for $20 back in 2017.
Love the videos! Just pulled the SIR Charizard from the obsidian flames booster pack at target!
Awesome seeing the older cards again 👍 thanks for the video
The reaction to the back of the Umbreon was funny 🤣
My son and I really enjoy watching your videos!! You're awesome!!
I personally collect ding and dent for that reason, I know the value is low but having the card is so nice.
Theyre relics at this point and i think it’s a great idea to buy these and give them a new lease of life. It’s nostalgic and takes me back so far, really good to see the old bangers! Cant wait for the drop on how they graded.
Where did you find the baseset charzard
Nice concept 👍🏻 Can't wait for the PSA return video 🙈
Me in my childhood I used to my thumb above the cards, and whereever I did that there would be a crease lmfao.....
I like this kind of content, I look forward to the grading one. It’d be cool if rev uploaded the 2 back to back
That Shining Gyarados! I’ve never seen that card before! Highest grade I feel like would be a PSA 7
I’ve never bought any card from TCGplayer, but it’s nice to see some cards purchased from this video.
Awesome video! Love seeing the high end older cards!
That back of the card. Hahahahahaha. R.I.P. Thanks for risking to save us from scammers in Websites and truly go for the once-in events.
This was a very fun video and interesting to hear your thoughts on the grading for each of these. Excited for the follow-up video later.
The umbreon when you flipped it over 😂
I love videos like this. It’s such a risk but it’s so suspenseful
50 layers of protection for a destroyed card, that was hilarious
Let's get that first PokeRev Pack in the Philippines!!!! 🎉🎉
I’ve thought about buying some of the damaged cards off of TCG because they are some of my favorites, but this really makes me reconsider.
This is easily my favorite video you’ve ever posted ❤
Love to see the spread of absolute grails! Also supporting the people at TCGplayer ❤
Is it me or would anyone else think it would be cool if next fates set was like celebrations but with all the old style shinys from before sun and moon. Some of those old shiny arts look amazing.
Yes that would be cool lol a reprint of all the old shinnies
Seeing the gold star mew like that hurt, the one i have is so clean as I was careful with it over the years
This channel is what got me back into Pokémon lol
The risks you take always amazes me. I hope they aren't all fake or in terrible condition.
It's gonna be interesting to see how the grades come out on these. On the plus side that Umbreon in PSA 1 might be worth a bunch as well
The reaction to umbreon, priceless 😂😂
I mean you definitely bought MP/DMG cards. You could’ve sorted by LP or NM and bought the cheapest and most expensive available to compare conditions and the video would’ve been more interesting (to me personally) Still a good video and a good idea
Cant wait for the follow up grading video for these cards
the first charizard honestly wasnt the worse but its still funny to see these cards
these videos makes everyone excited
That Umbreon reveal of the back 😂💀
I’ve thought about doing this. So I greatly appreciate the video.
Super fun video concept 😆
As always, I'm glad it's Rev risking his money and not me...
I just dont understand why condition is SO important for pricing a card. I mean a swing from from $23 to $2300 just based on condition. There is something wrong about that. I love the character and toning of vintage coins. Heavily played cards have been well loved. 🤷♀️
a grading return video for all those card would be amazing
That missing chunk on the back of the Umbreon card is brutal. 😱
I’ve never seen that blastoise card before. That secret rare art is amazing. But honestly I wouldn’t have paid near this much for any of these cards.
Hurt Merch deserves love too❤️
I'd pay 96 dollars for that Charizard. It's still in pretty decent condition but I'm also the kind of person who finds that sort of condition nostalgic. It's like a card I could have had in my childhood. Always wanted one but never had one sadly.
Not too bad. Would love to put a few of those in the binder.
I’m super curious to learn how these damaged cards come back graded. It might give me hope for some cards of my childhood collection which are in less than stellar conditions.
Some of those cards are in a really bad shape, but on the other hand they are still amazing ones!
That Lugia was atrocious 😂
Every time I open a pack I’m so scared to accidentally bend a valuable card😂
Love your channel I’m about to start my collection and start trying to get as many cards as possible
I like how some of worse conditon ones are packaged so well as if it's a mint card.
Can't imagine people handling their cards like this. Some of the best cards ever in these conditions, it's pretty bad to see. Looking forward to seeing the grades each one will get!
