Ohhhhh .. you’re not allowed to touch them… ? ok … i want touch him them… i’ll just quickly swipe the horse’s face if i’m not allowed to touch him…. 😮hmmmm.. looks like brain cells were left behind at home when luggage & passport were being packed
Now the tourists are trying every trick to get the horse to 'touch' them. It's the same thing, people, and doesn't make you look clever...just obnoxious. 🙄
Of course the tourists have figured out how to touch the horse. they mob and crowd that horse so badly that when the horse moves it's head it touches them. Now the shoe is on the other foot as far as the tourists are concerned and the horse is at fault .jeesh "the horse is the one that touched me. officer,..." the military needs to step it up. lets keep the people away period. They do it with the guards stationed in the columns but lets put tourists amongst a 1,000 lb. animal. and what's with the brain dead parents that stick their kids right up beside the horse or directly in front. I've seen kids get bit standing beside or even when the parent holds the kid in their arms a horse grabbed and bit the kids arm. if the horse spooks kid gets trampled. now thats parenting for you🙄🙄🙄🙄
The lady @ 5:08 got the message when the guard moved the horse away from her, unlike the one @ 5:40 who not only got told to move *BUT* also got shown his boot. 😂
She got booted out by the guard because they started to annoy him 😅starting from 1:05 the two sisters kept going in and out taking pictures while the other kept waiting and in the last picture she was about to touch his horse.
Still treating the horse as a pet, theirs. Honestly, these are the ones who will never see the sign even if it was a metre high and they had to climb over it to tease the horse.
The lady (in white shirt) at the 1:05 mark was immediately told TWICE by the guard that she couldn’t touch the horse. So, she then starts making kissing noises, trying to get the horse’s attention, and lure it over to make contact with her, so she then had a reason to touch it back. They’re trying any & every thing to still get their way and to be able to touch/pet/hug the horses! 🙄 The guard should’ve yelled and told her to get back/get away from the horse, as she was CLEARLY trying to disobey what he’d already told her not to do!
I can't see any reason why there should not be lines drawn. The horses would quickly become accustomed to the lines being there and, public footpath or no, it would not in any way interfere with passage.
@@suefrompa2567 Of course not. But it will make it easier to discipline them sooner instead of when they are already up against the horse. Who knows what the future of the horse guards is? They really do seem to be strictly ceremonial anymore.
@@suefrompa2567 Probably not but it will be a bit of deterrent. And I'm not sure one can depend on the the guards letting people mug the horses as they do whenever the fancy strikes them. Aside from the often rapacious efforts by the public to molest the horses though, I'm struck by the lackadaisical crowd safety controls, such as allowing people to obstruct the sidewalk therefore forcing pedestrians to sometimes detour to the street. Also, letting people nuzzle the horses mouth. Not very safe and a liability issue. Someone is not doing their due diligence for the sake of appeasing tourist desires. And I'm not sure the dignity & respect for the monarchy and its future, or for Britain for that matter is upheld, other than as irrelevent eye candy, by having tourists take selfies with guards
@kathyreese4052 The pointing and flat handed gesture is equally weird. It is almost as if these Asian tourists think they are game show hosts. Weird...
Comment from a Friday 16th post in follow-up to the question as to why some guards still allow some people to touch his horse? Answer:. The guard can make his own judgment if he will allow someone to touch his horse. That is why we still see those who are allowed to touch the horse followed by those he will not allow, for the guard knows his own horse So despite the new signs it is all relative to the judgment of the guard. If this is true it is going to cause much confusion as well as some attitudes with the visitors when they experience this bias. So the signs, for some guards, only have rule in some cases. So when we see the police stopping some people from touching the horse and the guards allowed others to touch the horse, we will recognize this poor leadership model they have adapted.
it shouldn't be up to the guard . he or she is to follow orders and rules. what happens when you have a horse who doesn't like to be pawed at by tourists. and reacts. The guard that allowed the touching has now put the other horse in jeopardy in doing so. Don't confuse the tourists, one rule for all.
@@SPJPapasan I am not sure specifically but with warning signs up for safety on both sides in my opinion it is for legal purposes so the MOD or powers to be can't be sued. That woman getting bit which was her own fault, the do not touch horse sign was there made the news and with all the attention on the kings guard horses I'm sure things are heating up.
Time to paint a thick red boundary line, that comes out from the box entrance in a ‘U’ shape, and post (& tell) visitors that they cannot cross that line towards the horse & guard anymore. So the closest they can stand to take their pictures is in front of the wall on either side of the box, and not be allowed to come from in front trying to back their way closer towards the horse to take selfies (trying to be sneaky & get the horse to make contact by nudging or whatever). Then make sure the guards enforce it!
I am disappointed with what I see. Buckingham Palace is showing no maturity when it comes to horses in the royal guard. How can you let a stranger touch the horse's mouth, bro? If he rides the subway, he has germs on his hands, as well as if he goes to the toilet or uses his cell phone. We no longer remember that there can be someone with bad intentions and can get their hands dirty with dangerous substances, even drugs. And then we wonder why the horse can't stand or why it gets sick. That horse is not a junk from who knows what farm, it is a royal horse worth over £100,000. To make a metal fence all around, because the challenges are many and very complex from the tourists.
Buckingham Palace has nothing to do with the horses , they belong to the Army ! A metal fence on a public footpath not possible , potentially dangerous to horses and Troopers if the horse has a meltdown ! Think about it !
@@kathellison8084 well think about this...the bollards are there , have temporary chains hooked between them and taken down once the horses are gone. while it maybe a public foot path how can the public use it when it is monopolized by a mob of tourists that no one can get through. People are walking on the street! The horses can move at will if there was permanent officers stationed on either side to keep people away.
It's not up to the King what happens at Horse Guards.. All that is the British Army and some London government ministers. But mostly the High officers. Nothing at All to do with Buckingham Palace . What ever made you think it was? I expect the King would very much like to know, but it's nothing at all to do with him...This is a British tradition and been carried out for over 300 yrs. And will continue to do so, with Or without tourists.
I don’t think any of us from here behave nowhere near to how these people from outer space behave.. blowing kisses to the horse, playing a horse whisperer…..talking to the horse?…trying to tame a biting horse in a few seconds.. grab his ear & molest it.. their long nails in his eye.. fingers up his nostrils, opening his mouth twice to see if he has teeth?
Good on that soldier for telling them to not touch the horse
Love the tourists think the horse looking at them is it being friendly whereas the horse is checking for the tenderest part to bite them. 😂
If the horse can touch you you are far too close. Move back! Give them space.
Good for that Guard to tell those tourists don't touch the horse. Tourists read the signs!

Why do people wave at the horse? Are they expecting that he’ll respond by lifting a hoof in acknowledgment?
The waving is strange
