aside from the handsome actors and the gay storylines which are nice to watch the show itself and the plot is questionable. in essence it shows a bunch of high school students approaching almost everything in life as a contest including how to accrue sexual experience. a lot of them show poor ethics or selfish, if not outright egotistical behaviour in a crisis (traffic violations, drug use, rape crime or simple theft of poems). the moment someone rejects their sexual advances quite a lot of them turn mean. as if they never learnt how to take no for an answer. empathy and respect for others is in short supply (society rather prefers to teach them other values) and when their peers recklessly and thoughtlessly trample on their feelings they contemplate suicide. it's all quite sad.
