@@dino-life I have almost 300 EM on my EM sands build and it always outperforms my HP sands of similar CVs when not running Elegy on Yelan and Sucrose. You do hit diminishing returns on EM but you also do that with attack especially with a unit like HuTao where you reach above 3000 atk with only her skill. A 300 atk difference (which is about the difference you get from an HP sands) around 2000 atk is much more significant than a 300 atk difference above 3000 atk. With HuTao you always get the 2nd case wherein she is above 3000 atk.
i like how zajef cleared the difference between meta value and pull value in the beginning part of the video. alot of ppl always tends to confuse the two as just the same. hutao's meta value is still top tier even though she has a lot of competition now, that doesnt degrade her meta value, shes still top tier in single target. her competitions only affects her pull value, like pulling for raiden or just building a f2p hyperbloom is alot better than pulling for hutao and hyperinvesting her and learning her cancels, which is why her pull value went down by alot since 3.0.
You are the first guide maker who I heard say that it will be pain doing Hu Tao's animation cancle on mobile version. As a mobile player myself I can definitly agree with that.
on the topic of not dying, can we get more "enemy theorycrafting" content? like the tidbits you talked about in the iceberg video, they were quite interesting. Gonna be honest, while I think I'm tapped in to the character mechanics, I have zero clue how the enemies in this game work. And who knows, maybe people will start saying Zhongli isn't as good if they know how to dodge
My biggest pulling regret is Zhongli. I got him only on his latest rerun, lost 50/50 2 times on his previous banners, and i was playing without him for more than a year. I got so used to avoid attacks and not be dependant on shields, that he got benched almost instantly after building him, cause there's a lot more useful options of characters you can put in a team, extra sub-dps, good buffer/healer, character for elemental resonanse, or all of that combined. I got c6 Noelle recently and i'm currently building a good geo team, but even there i'm thinking of other options than our precious geo archon. He is good, i know, but definetely not as good as people say.
Well if their not riftwolves the strategy will always be kill em before they do any gimmick. And the rift wolves just boil down into bring dendro and a healer
@@KeenanHI I'm on a similar-ish situation. I got Zhongli on his first banner by "accident" (didn't care that much at the time, so if I had primos I would roll in whatever banner that was up), after I got him, I played around with him for a while and then instantly benched him because I thought he was boring. I had to build him eventually for the first "special cube" event, but then I benched him again. Nowadays I only use him when I'm playing either Ganyu Ment, Tighnari, or Itto since being interrupted while playing them is just a pain in the ass.
And i wonder why that is. Like no matter what they do xiangling always ends up at the top of pyro food chain again. What were they thinking when designing her kit? And why arent they making a 5 star version of her yet already at this point?
Personally, as someone who's not even a hutao fan, it's a little flawed of an argument? Zajef is more of a horizontal scaler, meaning taking different teams for different situations, building more units vs going for cons But Hutao is very much a vertical scaling unit, she can reach farther vs C6 Xiangling (note, C0 5* losing to a C6 5* is pretty normal actually) at C1, and get a similar increase getting homa on top of it Hutao is not built to replace Xiangling at C0 bc I'd argue that's just how balance has to work Instead she's a character built for higher primo investment Unless he said it in the video itself, I think it's genuinely an important point to make as not everyone really wants to pull for everything in the game
@Hez Zajeff's standards are focused towards being able to 36* consistently as a F2P so he doesn't value Vertical Investment as much when other options can do the same thing but at less cost. Xiangling needing C6 to be top-tier is a common misconception. She's still good at C0 and relatively peaks at C4 increasing Q duration. Xiangling is also easier to obtain than other 4* since she's given Free while also being available in Shop and the Lantern Rite Liyue selector. The bigger issue with XL vs HuTao, aside from investment, is the diff in AoE where the trade-off in AoE is rough for the amount of ST HuTao gains, like Zajeff mentioned in the vid.
After this video, my vision on Hu Tao changed a bit. I'm new to the game and only have units like: Beidou, Heizou, Xingqiu, Sara and Sayu (besides the free ones of course). And Hutao looked like a good option for my firts 5 star (only have Xiangling and Amber for pyro dmg). But now Yelan seems like a more solid option (better usability and big variety in team comps). I will go for Yelan this time and roll for Hutao in another rerun (because i will have better hydro and shield units to use with her) Thx for clearing my Thoughst about her Zajef (and sorry for bad pronunciation, english is not my mother language). And now i will pray to rngesus, so a certain zombie loli, will not jumpscare me
Around 11:00 when you talk about dash cancels: it's important to note that not everyone plays with keyboard and mouse. I'm a PS4 player (I play on PC sometimes, but since I came from the PS4, I still play with a controller) and the dash cancel is not that easily done with a controller. Since the attack button on the DS4 is O and the jump is X, you can't attack with one hand then quickly press the jump with another. You do both with the same hand and same finger, meaning if you don't have good hand coordination, or if you have some disability, it's actually very hard to do. I have some pretty good hand coordination so I'm able to do the dash cancels perfectly about 80% of the time, but since Hu Tao is a character where you spam that a lot for a rather long period of time, the repetition can actually start hurting my finger and then I notice I don't do the dash cancels perfectly as accurately anymore. Anyway, sorry for the wall text, but I feel it's important to note that the platform you play on (or rather, the tool you play with e.g. keyboard vs controller) can make performing dash cancels more difficult. I'm really glad you talked about dash cancelling in the way you did because a lot of other content creators just explain how to perform it and move on like it's the easiest thing to do - which I think it's true if you're playing with a keyboard and mouse, but it's definitely not that case for everyone. And you don't just dismiss that. That's the first time I've seen this. I've had Hu Tao since her first banner but due to her dash cancel being her optimal playstyle and me playing on a controller, I don't actually use her all that much. I have Homa (permanently on my Zhongli) so I often debate whether I should get her C1 or not because I know performing the dash cancel by dodging would be much easier for me (since it allows me to use my thumb and pointer finger rather than just my thumb) but usually I just skip since I'd rather get a new character instead. I've run into this conundrum where I don't play Hu Tao because I don't have a C1 but I don't pull for her C1 because I don't play her enough hahaha. Currently I'm saving for Nahida rerun since I want her weapon and hopefully constellations as well, so I have to skip Hu Tao yet again. For the record, you can change the buttons (I think) so that the jump button is not one of the PS symbols, but at this point I'm so used to each button that I don't want to mess with it just for Hu Tao. Messing with the button configuration also means I could potentially make it difficult for another team to perform, so I'd rather not. Anyway, sorry again for the wall text, but I wanted to provide some of my experience as a console (or rather, as a controller) player rather than a keyboard and mouse player. TL;DR: Zajef is absolutely right and Xiangling is indeed better HEHEHEHE
Really? I find Jump Cancel on controller actually easier than M&K. I suppose years of playing on console and many moba games on mobile increase the reflex.
@@redace4821 It's okay for me during the first rotation I guess, but I wouldn't necessarily say it's easy either. Then it gets increasingly more difficult for me with every subsequent rotation as my dexterity starts to wobble a bit.
So, I got Hu Tao in 1.3 during her initial run, and she was one of my most used characters throughout the 2.x patches alongside Childe International (due to the orthogonal support pairings that Childe and Hu Tao can run with). I was always of the mindset that Hu Tao's raw output whilst being not Bennett reliant made her one of the better pulls in the game if you had Childe or another way to run Xiangling on the other side. However, after 3.x, I've actually rarely pulled out Hu Tao if at all for overworld and abyss alike. Truth is, I've been preferring Nahida hyperbloom, which takes the same supports (aka XQ/Yelan) as Hu Tao teams, and in my opinion hyperbloom teams are far more versatile and easy to play team than any Tao team there is. The rotations for hyperbloom are so much more fluid and adaptable to enemy encounters and scenarios, as it doesn't get affected by enemies with innate aura (like the thundering manifestation, which prevents vapes due to innate electro aura). I find that hyperbloom is also a lot more versatile in what kind of content it can be played in- Hu Tao in AoE can be extremely painful whilst hyperbloom still feels relatively good in AoE despite being single-target focused. There's also certain types of content where Hu Tao's short uptime duration can kinda grief you (for example, having two waves or hp thresholds with a gap in between, like how it can be difficult to kill the PMA minion and the PMA itself in one rotation if they don't spawn next to each other) whereas hyperbloom has virtually constant uptime making it immune to these kinds of issues. I know that there is the sentiment floating around that "hyperbloom has a low ceiling, meaning Hu Tao at high invest will eventually beat it". But my question is, just how many players will actually hit that ceiling? Just like how f(x) = 500x yields a higher output than f(x) = x^2 all the way until x = 500 despite having a lower exponent, it can be very possible that the vast majority of players simply won't have the resources or investment required to actually take advantage of Hu Tao's hypothetically higher ceiling. I can speak for my own personal experience: I found Hu Tao even in her best scenarios (single target bossing) only slightly beating out Hyperbloom, and my build isn't weak. I have a Staff of Homa, and on the Akasha my Tao build is in the top 9%. So if even I can't reap the benefits of Hu Tao, realistically speaking a good portion of the community probably wouldn't either.
Hyperbloom is so broken that you don't even need a structured rotation, pressing buttons works perfectly and that's what most people do. If not for the fact there are two teams in abyss, there's practically no reason to run anything other than hyperbloom even in aoe where it hypothetically should be weaker. If a character needs the near mindless execution of hyperbloom and the higher ceiling of Hu Tao just to be a good pull then there's no point in rolling DPSs outside of preference ever. Having a higher ceiling with caveats should be enough. Hyperbloom is just in a state that if we get any character that is objectively the better option, the game's balance would just shatter.
One thing to point out: the electro oceanid aura doesn't prevent vapes, it works together with hydro creating electrocharge which we then get free overload+vape from.
I hope more people read this comment , I really love hutao as a unit and still play her in monopyro (coz nahida now yeet my xinqui). I just find nahida HB better overall in terms of flexibility and I have really well invested c1r1 hutao.. (its 87/248 166 em cw).. and I played hutao in all stages of investment, I got homa and c1 on her rerun.. before that I still clearing abyss with c0 db. I am tired explaining to people hutao these days not worth if your goal is you want a unit thats great in st, unless you really like her and want to commit to her both skill and investment wise and yet people keep explaining about high floor and ceiling and chinese speedruns all that nonsense.. please... I know 90% of community not gonna excel my hutao (in terms of skill expression + investment) and still I am saying that. If you love the unit sure .. absolutely go for it. Unit herself quite rewarding and lovable with her cute voices. But for normal investment.. HB just better and much more easier and flexible for sure.
@@Phoenix-il5hc I think it has something to do with you not specifying you say she's not worth it not because she's weaker but because there's an option to achieve slightly weaker st team with waaaaay fewer investment. Its kinda like with mona vs kokomi in freeze: kokomi+rosaria maybe might be slightly better but it isn't worth 12-24k primos you spend on kokomi unless you're gonna play her in the other teams. But if you wanna push your team to the absolute limit at c0 then kokomi+shenhe is the way.
HuTao these days has rougher competition since HyperBloom raised the Floor for ST DMG while taking less investment coupled with easier execution to play. There’s still also the high bar of OPPA XL that all Pyro DPS will have to compare with since she excels at both AoE and ST off-field while also having better F2P options especially with The Catch.
I've had Hu Tao since first run, had her C1 and then got Homa last time. She's by far my favorite character and she's never left my abyss team. Even if she isn't the powerhouse she used to be I doubt I'll ever ditch her.
she's still a powerhouse. It's just that of-late, some new powerhouses have popped up- that doesn't mean their existence makes her worse! but for a new player, it might be better to get some dendro teams that are flexible for high st dmg rather than hu tao
She's still by far the strongest and most fun char on my account despite having all the other broken chars on it. Since she's so heavily invested and I plan to stick with her to the end. She pretty much one rotations everything.
I think a lot of people forget that Beidou can also be used in Hu Tao teams for overload vape. As she is ones of the few characters that can do overvape team properly. Not only does Beidou shield combo really well with Xingqiu shield for insane survivability to match or surpass Zhongli shield, but you can also increase your AoE potential by a margin. Hu Tao Beidou Xingqiu Yelan has always been my go to for bosses that I want dead asap.
But if you want to do bosses then slotting beidou in is an inferior option, if you do small mobs they gets thrown away because of overload, it can work well in some low count of heavy enemies situation, but genrally there are much better aoe teams than this. Also overload has never been a solid way to solve aoe problems in some character, the aoe is on the small side and it's dmg is on the low side.
Solo electro Beidou has huge troubles with energy, and she is pretty bad in solo target, as you say, that use her against bosses. Fishl is so much better in this team.
I feel like content creators don't explain why C1 is a damage increase and how it's good beyond stamina. The reason it's a DMG increase is that at C0, regardless of you jump cancel or not, you can only do a certain number of charged attacks before her E runs out. I believe it's 7 charged attacks. With C1 you can now dash cancel without running out of stamina before her E runs out and therefore increase the number of charged attacks.
he explained this on stream in the vod listed in the description, I guess the editor just had to leave some parts out because the stream on the questions was about 4+ hours or something (he streamed for 8 hours that day)
the number of of charge atks depends on the variation u use, N1C or N2C, also yes dash cancel gives you around 20% more dps (only if you do it perfectly) I think homa is better sice it's 20% increase in dps regardless you do perfect dash cancel or not.
@@Mehieddin7not realistically, at c0 even with zhongli, 8 is the max u can get. 9 is possible when there is no restrivtions on enemies, and with an extremely perfect run. Usually against enemies, its 8 charges if done well. With c1 tho, it gets bumped up to 10 on a good run, 11 on a perfect one, and 12 on a no restriction run(like the 9 charges in c0). So basically an approximate 3 charge increase(if done decently well), which is pretty significant (thats basically like 350k increase, assuming each charged attack crits and does around a bit over 115k)
EM vs HP sands depends on the substats in your account. Give optimizer a try to see what's best for you. My case is interchangeable, but leaning more towards EM now since hydro resonance update gives her HP.
@@DrunkenEros used to be dragon's bane, but changed to deathmatch since i want her to have at least 75% crit rate. And yea if you use EM weapon, HP sands is much better to avoid diminishing return on EM.
@@davlintulip7524 the riskiest team in the game for sure, but I find it doable because hutao have s when doing charge atk, with C1 you can do dash cancel which gives even more s.
I think a lot of people are overreacting a lot concerning Hu tao and hyperbloom. There was never a must pull unit in genshin. There were always 4star teams strong enough to 36 star. Just because there's another new cheap teamcomp doesn't mean Hu tao suddenly got "power crept" like some people say. If you want more power, Hu tao scales better with investment If you want fun, Hu tao (potentially) has fun and there's not really any other reasons for pulling. These are the same before and after hyperbloom
@@lukasdeen6226 If you don't *need* a unit to clear the hardest content in the game (36 star Abyss), then it isn't a must pull. It has been proven on multiple occasions that you can 36 star Abyss with only 4 stars or even only free units, hence there isn't a single must pull in the game.
I agree. We already had comps (Raiden National & Bennett-Yelan double vape) with higher single target ceilings at certain levels of investment. The only niche that hyperblooom has really superceded Hu Tao in is "most braindead way to clear bosses". I do think her pull value has fallen slightly, since she's been slightly crowded out of her niche. But on the flipside, either-or arguments like "why pull Hu Tao just play hyperbloom" have become much less relevant. It's not like the old days when if you didn't have Childe, playing Hu Tao meant benching Xiangling vape, which was probably one of your best teams. With the proliferation of hydro units, and archetypes that don't require hydro units, the fact that Hu Tao wants Xingqiu and/or Yelan isn't a huge detriment to her pull value. Especially because we often see bosses on both sides of the abyss. Before dendro, I often wished for a strong bossing team to run opposite my Hu Tao. Nowadays, I can run HuTao-Yelan on one side, and Nahida-Xingqiu on the other.
This is pretty much my sentiment aswell. If someone wants to play her teams for whatever reason, then they can make it competitive/strong and a worthwhile endeavour which seems fine to me. I would argue that her kind of place in meta is what I wish for other units as well. Having specific niches in specific niches is kinda the trend hyo needs to go as there is just a limited quantity of archetypes genshin has without broadening their endgame or releasing archetype units like Nilou.
imo, OVERVAPE hu tao is her best team with dragonsbane and crimson witch. I play hu tao, xingqiu, fischl C6 and sucrose with PROTOTYPE AMBER R5. This team also has a core sucrose taser team so have on field sucrose when hu tao is on downtime or want to group enemies and deal AOE dmg. Thus, doesnt have that low dmg during hu tao downtime issue. Basically, a double carry team. Dragonsbane already gives EM higher than the optimal amount of around 150-180 for vaporise so adding an overload on top of that increase that optimal EM about roughly a 100. Maybe around 250 EM for overvape. Crimson witch reaction dmg in the 4 pc effect gets better value the higher the EM due to being a flat increase instead of diminishing returns which makes overvape even stronger with this BiS artifact set.
I saw someone saying that Hu Tao is basically a Yelan+Xingqiu driver and I agree lol. Honestly, if you're a little unsure about Hu Tao, just get Yelan. She is a much better and more fun unit that goes in so many teams
Yeah honestly, that's all she is now lol Once there's a better pyro character that synergizes with them even more, she's going to be phased out of her team
I ended up laughing when zajeff mentioned playing hutao against rifthound abyss. You definitely ain't gonna have any fun. Stress meter gonna skyrocket.
I made a comment saying that Hu Tao's pull value lowered as pyro in falling off in meta. I think it was wrong of me to assume that pyro is falling off. The better way to say it is that there are far more comfortable teams to play that matches Hu Tao's damage than playing her complicated playstyle.
I choose Yoimiya over Hu tao with Yelan cuz i want to use Benneth and my Xingqui will be staying with Nahida and Kuki on hyperbloom team. Im just waiting for Zhongli rerun for Yoimiya to finish her NA combo without evading enemy attacks.
Yoimiya > Hu tao for anyone who just wants to chill, I have them both but at this point abyss is a chore sometimes and I just want to get this over with

I think one of the reasons you should value hb higher than hutao is how easy it is on mobile. Most of the time i play on pc but sometimes when i switch to mobile, god its a pain to play hutao vape even in open world But nahida raiden xq zhongli is so easy to execute that i easily can say you won't have a hard time in abyss. @@leblancattire5951 Yoimiya basically forces you into bringing a shield lol. And why pull for yoimiya when Xiangling can deal way more damage in both single target and multi target. And you're also forgetting units like Klee, Eula, Diluc who are completely useless, just because you can't play her right doesn't mean she is bad, being the best at single target and boss content isn't 'least useful' in the slightest.
Hu Tao was my third 5 star after getting Jean and Raiden. I remember I struggled so much because I lacked the supports that make her META. Based on my experience, Hu Tao is really strong if you have the right pieces around her but she is not an early-mid game friendly character.
Yea, I think point one is already enough to undervalue hutao, not in a way that she's bad now because she still is one of if not the best single target team, but the ceiling for hyperbloom is so high even on low investment that it can be comparable to a hyperinvested hutao team. I would still want to pull for her c1 simply because I like her playstyle and already have homa+elegy and probably play with her until I get bored or when a new character comes out.
I use mine with Xingqiu, Zhongli and Mona with ttds and noblesse. At the end of the day Hu tao is still an atk scaling character so me getting to see that beautiful, almost 300k aoe dmg + 4-5 105k charged atks(~85k when no more omen) is just too good to say no and one of the reasons why I dont have any hype to get Yelan; you wont need her buff when things straight up die with one Q against enemies with Omen.
Same here. I don't have Yelan too and my Mona is C1 (15% reaction dmg bonus). Super good team if you have her. Mona is an underestimed character. I run her on freeze too and my Ayaka's burst kills everything in one rotation (except bosses).
@@ramonsaldanha4841 brooo the amount of skill issue I see in this community for thinking Kokomi is better on freeze teams than Mona hurts me, I understand if the account doesnt have Mona but damn dude, you dont need the heal nor the "better" hydro app if enemies are fucking dead cuz Omen lol Also, a good amount of players just forget that her special dash has a separated icd what means she can get a good amount of hydro app if you know the character a little bit better and rewards you with more dmg and faster clears. Also also, Diona exists so its not like you wont have a healer(and a shielder) if needed.
@@abotaccount6094 uh, no, you dont need a better hydro app if the enemies are dead and the fact you can use Diona for a healer and a shielder also help lowering Kokomi's value in morgana for example.
@@jonnevitu4979 diona is not very good for freeze tbh. Kokomi has access to a sustained atk buff, bigger aoe, and more consistant hydro. Mona is better for burst damage of course, but less comfortable to play for most people. if you cant kill in 1 rotation with mona then the consistancy of kokomi feels better. + rosaria and kokomi is already infinite freeze, you dont even need other characters tbh.
I feel like I’m going to be stuck using my R5 Dragon’s Bane forever. I plan on pulling for Yelan, but the stats on the artifacts are so good as well as having Skyward Harp, her signature weapon won’t really be that big a damage increase for my build.
I run c4 Yanfei over Zhongli. Imo it is better since you free up Zhongli for someone else, and you get pyro resonance. Yanfei can also serve as a pseudo mini healer, not enough to over heal Hu Tao, but enough to keep her alive. I'm planning to try Layla for funsies.
it's account dependent, nowdays there are too many top teams that don't use ZL at all so I don't feel like there's a need to free him. also universal resistance shred is better than pyro resonance. ZL shield is just miles better (you have to run alot of ER 'causs her burst is like 80) Unless of course if you have a very high investment hutao then kazuha VV vape with yanfei shield canlead to higher dps
Hutao, Mona, Yelan and Zhongli are actually a pretty cool team. Im hitting around 120K per charged (still need to lvl Mona and crown hutao E, Mona still at lv60 with her burst at 4s)
My Diona with bad artifacts so she only bursts every other rotation made my Hutao keep the "under 50% hp" passive pretty easily while I had to use Zhongli for the other side cuz dies of cringe wolf boss
I think it’s important to add that even when Hu Tao barely overcomes Hyperbloom in single target content, she still doesn’t do very well in multiple target scenarios. Hyperbloom on the other hand is so versatile that it will do both AOE and ST for free where as Hu Tao will struggle to do both as well.

EM sands is generally better, but HP% is ~2.7x more common. I'm using an HP sands because it's got 6 substats (14% CR plus some EM and HP), and my best EM sands has 2. I farmed Crimson Witch long enough to get a solid 30 substat build and never once saw a decent EM sands. Also I do play "weird overload bullshit" sometimes, so EM isn't quite as important. Cannot stress how much an EM sand tends to be better on Homa unless you're playing VV Vape with Elegy Yelan and Sucrose.
use an optimizer, but EM sands with comparable substats is probably better

As a mobile player myself I can definitly agree with that.
the 2 normal to a charged and jump is my enemy
on the topic of not dying, can we get more "enemy theorycrafting" content? like the tidbits you talked about in the iceberg video, they were quite interesting.

I respect the dedication to pull and triple crown Hutao Just to double down on Xiangling being the superior pyro DPS.

This guy is based for doing that
@@ra6765 Pyro Archon taking Notes Rn lol
Personally, as someone who's not even a hutao fan, it's a little flawed of an argument?
Zajef is more of a horizontal scaler, meaning taking different teams for different situations, building more units vs going for cons
But Hutao is very much a vertical scaling unit, she can reach farther vs C6 Xiangling (note, C0 5* losing to a C6 5* is pretty normal actually) at C1, and get a similar increase getting homa on top of it
Hutao is not built to replace Xiangling at C0 bc I'd argue that's just how balance has to work
Instead she's a character built for higher primo investment
Unless he said it in the video itself, I think it's genuinely an important point to make as not everyone really wants to pull for everything in the game
For mobile players I highly recommend playing the trial a lot before pulling
After this video, my vision on Hu Tao changed a bit. I'm new to the game and only have units like: Beidou, Heizou, Xingqiu, Sara and Sayu (besides the free ones of course). And Hutao looked like a good option for my firts 5 star (only have Xiangling and Amber for pyro dmg). But now Yelan seems like a more solid option (better usability and big variety in team comps). I will go for Yelan this time and roll for Hutao in another rerun (because i will have better hydro and shield units to use with her)
Thx for clearing my Thoughst about her Zajef (and sorry for bad pronunciation, english is not my mother language). And now i will pray to rngesus, so a certain zombie loli, will not jumpscare me

I'm new as well and I'm on the Yelan train too, GL!
Hutao was my first five star back in 2.2
It does take a while to get her up and going since she has less team options
Good choice, as an AR60 player I always recommend getting Kazuha Raiden Yelan Nahida first if you don't have them before anyone else.

31:55 - Dehya as the second pyro in a Hu Tao team let's gooooooo!!!!
finally some use for Dehya
COPIUM (usually I use C6 double crowned Thoma) BUT I'LL TAKE IT
So, I got Hu Tao in 1.3 during her initial run, and she was one of my most used characters throughout the 2.x patches alongside Childe International (due to the orthogonal support pairings that Childe and Hu Tao can run with).
1.3 same
One thing to point out: the electro oceanid aura doesn't prevent vapes, it works together with hydro creating electrocharge which we then get free overload+vape from.
I hope more people read this comment , I really love hutao as a unit and still play her in monopyro (coz nahida now yeet my xinqui). I just find nahida HB better overall in terms of flexibility and I have really well invested c1r1 hutao..
A Zajef voice over mod is something I didn't know I needed before.
She's better than she ever was. She hasn't fallen off, the opposite has happened.
Problem is beidous extreme er requirements, not having any battery for her, fischl being better in almost every way
Oh god the ending left me craving for a link of the entire vod 🌚🤣🤣
That DPS graph section about Hu Tao vape vs Nahida hyperbloom is very interesting; I think that it is what TC should be more about
I feel like content creators don't explain why C1 is a damage increase and how it's good beyond stamina. The reason it's a DMG increase is that at C0, regardless of you jump cancel or not, you can only do a certain number of charged attacks before her E runs out. I believe it's 7 charged attacks. With C1 you can now dash cancel without running out of stamina before her E runs out and therefore increase the number of charged attacks.
he explained this on stream in the vod listed in the description, I guess the editor just had to leave some parts out because the stream on the questions was about 4+ hours or something (he streamed for 8 hours that day)
Yes and also, Dash Cancel is a lot faster than Jump Cancel so you will increase the number of Charged Attacks.
the number of of charge atks depends on the variation u use, N1C or N2C, also yes dash cancel gives you around 20% more dps (only if you do it perfectly) I think homa is better sice it's 20% increase in dps regardless you do perfect dash cancel or not.
Pretty sure it's around 8-9 charged attacks since 25 stamina per charged attack=9 charged attack

If you want more power, Hu tao scales better with investment
If you want fun, Hu tao (potentially) has fun
and there's not really any other reasons for pulling.
These are the same before and after hyperbloom
meta > waifu exist thus "must pull" exist
@@lukasdeen6226 If you don't *need* a unit to clear the hardest content in the game (36 star Abyss), then it isn't a must pull. It has been proven on multiple occasions that you can 36 star Abyss with only 4 stars or even only free units, hence there isn't a single must pull in the game.
@@NerdFactorYGO did you even understand meta > waifu? it's very obvious what it mean
Very informative and the voices you did at the end made me laugh out loud. Thank you!
It's impressive that hoyo didnt hire zajef to voice act characters
imo, OVERVAPE hu tao is her best team with dragonsbane and crimson witch.

Can't wait for Ask Zajef Yelan Edition
Ask Dehya and the only question is WHY
27:08 Thank you. I needed to hear this
I'm here for the voicelines and nothing else. those are GOLD!
its been 6months and i still come back to appreciate the umm hilicurl song in chinese
I feel like I’m going to be stuck using my R5 Dragon’s Bane forever.
I plan on pulling for Yelan, but the stats on the artifacts are so good as well as having Skyward Harp, her signature weapon won’t really be that big a damage increase for my build.
@Spidebot I already have an R5 fav bow on Diona and an R3 Sac sword on Xingqiu, so I think fav on Yelan would be overkill.
@Spidebot Yeah, if I were to use Yelan instead of Xingqiu in my quick bloom Alhaitham team, she would for sure need more ER.
Thank you for putting the numbers where hp sands and em sands are equivalent!! It's a good quick reference.
Thank you Schaufle :D
35:39 got myself a new ringtone
I run c4 Yanfei over Zhongli. Imo it is better since you free up Zhongli for someone else, and you get pyro resonance. Yanfei can also serve as a pseudo mini healer, not enough to over heal Hu Tao, but enough to keep her alive. I'm planning to try Layla for funsies.
it's account dependent, nowdays there are too many top teams that don't use ZL at all so I don't feel like there's a need to free him. also universal resistance shred is better than pyro resonance. ZL shield is just miles better (you have to run alot of ER 'causs her burst is like 80)
Unless of course if you have a very high investment hutao then kazuha VV vape with yanfei shield canlead to higher dps
Yanfei's biggest upside is allowing you to swirl pyro.
Hutao, Mona, Yelan and Zhongli are actually a pretty cool team. Im hitting around 120K per charged (still need to lvl Mona and crown hutao E, Mona still at lv60 with her burst at 4s)
It can be really strong if you use hutao Q first for a nuke then charge atk afterwards
@@hagianghoang4026 Im actually using shimenawa on her :/ but i'll get her a CW set later xD for now i think i'll level mona
How much your yelan ER?
@@heyking8583 Around 200%, why?
My Diona with bad artifacts so she only bursts every other rotation made my Hutao keep the "under 50% hp" passive pretty easily while I had to use Zhongli for the other side cuz dies of cringe wolf boss
Task failed sucessfully.
Liking and commenting purely to express my appreciation for the voiceovers at the end
Might as well never pull characters because hyperbloom exists
@@abotaccount6094 pull the entire dendro cast first and then pull support meta units like Kokomi Kazuha Ei Kuki. There’s a lot to do with dendro and it’s all good.
Dendro op.
@@wilburforce8046 Dendro good, doesn't mean everyone should only play dendro. Some people still prefer the old element since they just simply like it more. We are no longer at that point where "easy to build and high damage = best". We are at this point where "comfort & preference as long as can clear content= best".
Lol, Hoyo Dev's are afraid of Pyro and Vaporize. Bet Pyro and cryo archons will be the only ones who can take advantage of all the reactions of their element.
@@RKNancy maybe overload can stop being a joke
The Zajef voiceovers are just 🔥
over 1 year later ... good to see yahooooo back!!
there's a comp that I came up with which somehow make her work with Dendro. Hu tao/XQ/Fischl/Yao yao(or nahida depend on your skill level or whenever Baihzu release). Basically a reaction comp but Hu tao use NA with Shimenawa.
Hu Tao is still a great character, just not versatile. On-field carry DPS.
If you need DPS characters, consider getting her. If not, better get supports/sub DPS characters.
Thank you Schaufle, what a gigachad. Thx to Zajef as well for making this very educational, and very entertaining. 👌
34:51 is the best part of the video OM
34:52 is a masterpiece
Yoimiya video: "Don't say you're pulling because you don't have a pyro DPS, you have Xiangling"... Me, still pulls for her
Watches this video.... still pulls for Hu Tao
I'm listening the voicelines over and over again for like 20 minutes. And i can't stop. HELP.
howling at the voiceovers dude good stuff
How to make hutao stronger : c1 and/or homa, zhongli, GIT GUD ARTIFACTS
How to make hyperbloom team stronger : just pull nahida
Hu tao at c0 no homa can already out perform hyperbloom
@@prestige934 im only talking about how to make certain chars/teams stronger
@@prestige934 No she can't, what?
@@prestige934 smoking copium "bbbuuut hu tao CA 60-80k without homa" your hu tao crit it's 50-65% not 100% and this talking about abyss not showcase with full buff when enemy don't do anything
@@Dubstep_Gun she can easily. Hyperbloom raiden has 60-70k dps. Hu tao with can surpass that easily. Not considering the double hydro in both teams
im having zejaf withdrawals thank you
If you are a new player. I would recommend Hutao above Alhaitham and Xiao, just because you can get Xingqiu for free from the 3.4 lantern rite event.
That outro was amazing
atp ill just skip everything til i get scarlet sands then quit the game
Such a mood

“Hold button, press space bar.” Sure mr. Chef I can do it on my phone running on 15 frames
Is Yelan a good pull for me? I want to go for Fontaine units and I don’t know if I want to go for Yelan right now because of that so that’s why I want to go for Hu Tao. I have both Barbara and Xingqui built so I feel like going for another hydro unit right now is unnecessary since I can run hydro both sides of the abyss. I have a C0 Xiangling from the abyss but no true pyro hypercarry
If u have good supports (nahida, kazuha kokomi etc) then gor hu tao, if not yelan, or save for whoever u want
If you like Hu Tao, go for Hu Tao. If you're wondering which of the two will bring more value to your account, then Yelan is more than likely to be the better unit to pull for. Me personally I would pull for Yelan, but whatever you do, good luck 👍
If u like her then go for it no endgame so have fun
Do you have Xingqiu? If not, just wait. Her damage is so much worse without good hydro units.
@@TheSpongyMallard not true. I don't use xinqiu and her damage is really high and consistent. He should definitely pull for her
EM sands is generally better, but HP% is ~2.7x more common. Even if I only played double hydro though, I don't think it would be worth the grind to get slightly better artifacts.
been using hutao for the start of her release, im in love with her, missed yoimiya first banner, get yoimiya on first rerun, been enjoying lazy game play of yoimiya since then, but hutao still one of my fav chara along with nilou nahida and miko, idk hutao seems broken to me, my huato deals 140k charge vape, without benny or ttds, sadly enough all my huato artifact stolen by my yoimiya xD
HuTao cackling after one-shotting with burst is now canon.
Yuh boi Zajeff got Hu Tao, triple crowned her and learned her combos and cancels inside out just to prove a point.
That's some real dedication right there!
Appreciate new editing style. Seem more tasteful.
Me watching this with a Staff of Homa and no intention to get Hu Tao C0, much less C1, purely bc Zajef
Based.
Also zajef: "she's stronger than hb or xl, i pulled her just to shit on her"
God his voice acting only gets better and better
Weapon banner vs Yelan though?
i'm crying with the voice overs 😹💓
I love Hu Tao (C0) and I gotta say she has been game changing for me. Thanks to her and Raiden (C0 too) on the other side, I got my first 36 stars first time. But I agree with Zajef that you gotta invest on her and around her (get Zhongli, Xinquiu C6 and Yelan, and also I pulled for Homa). She is crazy strong and fun to play IMO.
But if you dont have Yelan, GO FOR YELAN FIRST.
I have Albedo and Zhongli. And I am not interested in Yelan. Wouldn't that be workable?
