  • Every household in India is connected to Amul, an Indian Brand that has made a soft corner in everyones heart!
Their product ranges are affordable and of high quality.
Amul was founded in 1946 in the small town of Anand, Gujarat, by Tribhuvandas Patel, who drew inspiration from the Danish dairy cooperative movement's success. Patel aimed to establish a similar cooperative model in India to improve the earnings of small dairy farmers.
With the assistance of a young dairy engineer named Verghese Kurien, Patel established the Kaira District Cooperative Milk Producers' Union (KDCMPPU) in Anand. This cooperative society was owned and managed by its members, all of whom were small dairy farmers.
Initially, the union gathered milk from its members and sold it to local dairies, but these dairies often paid farmers very little for their milk. To tackle this issue, the union decided to establish its own dairy plant.
In 1955, plant, inaugurated by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, and began selling dairy products under the Amul brand. The Amul Girl mascot in their ads won awards, including one from the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
Amul also benefited from a strong marketing campaign that focused on the benefits of dairy products. Today, Amul is one of the most popular and trusted brands in India. The brand has a wide range of products, including milk, butter, cheese, yogurt, and ice cream. Amul also exports its products to over 50 countries around the world.
The Amul brand is more than just a dairy brand. It is the reason behind White revolution in India. Amul has played an important role in improving the lives of millions of dairy farmers in India.
