    Morning. Looks a neat little splitter at least every time that ram goes out you have a log not like the axe where you can chase wood all over the yard lol great video. Stay safe

      Exactly! It may not be the fastest, but it does produce. Some wood I can split just as fast, if not faster by hand, but for the big stuff or ugly wood, the splitter is the best tool.
      Thanks for watching Bob! Have a great day, take care!

    ooh nice machine Gdf. my dream is to have a hobby farm one day. by the time I get one ill be too old to split by hand so a splitter would definitely be on the top of my list.

      Thanks! We have dreamed of this for years, it has been and still is a lot of work, both physically and financially, but so worth it!
      Yep, for me the splitter was about saving time and energy.... I found that the difficult pieces were just being left, when I split by hand. If I had better wood, I could split more by hand, by I scrounge all my firewood, so we get some real nasty stuff, stuff nobody else wants.
      The best firewood is free firewood!
      Have a great day, take care!

    They're nice to have, that's for sure! I'm looking to upgrade mine to a Rugged made 37 ton type 2 with a log lift in the spring. Stay safe and stay warm😊

      Nice! I have just started looking at some semi production models.... I might start selling firewood, and a bigger, fast, more heavy duty machine would be worth it.
      Have a good one Spencer, take care! Peace and Love!

    Those are some good looking Stacks you have. I am currently splitting all my wood by hand. As mild as this winter has been for us in Ky it does not take much to stay ahead. Nice Toque by the way! Cant wait to get mine. Hello to all the Buckin folks.

    What are the odds.... I have the same splitter except mine has a kohler engine and an OREGON sticker on the sides.
    I love mine

    • @GoodDayFarm
      @GoodDayFarm  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep! I believe this company makes several "brands". I know they make the same splitter for Tractor Supply, it just has a different name, and some have the Kohler engine like yours. Seems to be a great machine for the money.
      I have been looking at some of the more semi production machines though, spend, but if I start selling firewood, might be worth it, we will see.
      Thanks for watching Kyler, have a great day, take care!

    I only lock mine upright when it's still connected to the pickup

    • @GoodDayFarm
      @GoodDayFarm  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine doesn't "lock" vertically..... I guess they figure gravity will hold it upright, I don't know.... :/

  • @alexesgate8033
    @alexesgate8033 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    i seen a pin just above the axle is that for pinning it in the uprite position ?

    • @GoodDayFarm
      @GoodDayFarm  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good eye, but actually, that pins in in that position, you remove it to go vertical, then there is nothing to lock it in that position.
      Thanks!

    • @alexesgate8033
      @alexesgate8033 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good Day Farm oh ok just wondering never been around one .but ya if it doesn't pin up it could slam down and couse damage

    • @GoodDayFarm
      @GoodDayFarm  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly.... hard to explain, but the end kind of wedges into the ground, but it isn't real secure, so I don't do it.

    When you say you move it by hand are you using a trailer dolly or just hand mandling it across the yard?

      Just man handling it. I pick up the hitch end and pull or push just like if it was connected to my truck. I just don't have the same umph as my truck! 😂😂😂
      Thanks for watching and take care!!!
