I didn't watch their trailer for the Spv 3.3 update because I wanted to go into the game not knowing what to expect. I was amazed to see the Sparrowhawk for the first time. What an awesome moment!
Holy fK as soon as I thought “wow this is cool that’s mind blowing ok holy shit I wanna try this” it delivered MORE. I’m so impressed by that I had to stop the video halfway so I wasn’t spoiled for the whole campaign I’m getting it rn
It’s cool how they keep updating this mod. Makes me think of how the guys who made Black Mesa are still fixing things and adding stuff. I hope that a bunch of people will get together and do something like this for Halo 2. That would be awesome to see Halo 2 remade in the image of Bungie’s original idea. I remember in two previous videos you mentioned some of the short comings in ODST. One of the things you said was how you never fight Elites, even though it takes place literally right after Regret fled. Another thing you talked about was how all your weapons were nerfed to make you feel week rather than making the enemies bigger and more aggressive to emphasize the fact that your just a normal guy fighting monstrous aliens. Maybe you could even talk about the lack of Halo 2 vehicles like the Wraith with side guns, Phantom with 3 guns on the bottom, Halo 2 shade turrets, Shadows, Specters, and those big AA turrets. Sadly if you do make a video talking about the games shortcomings and continuity errors a bunch of overgrown children will freak out just like they did when Dishonored Wolf made his Reach review (I’m sad he stopped making videos).
I would love to see Halo 2 modified to resemble the stencil-shadowed Halo Bungie was working towards, or at least play a refined New Mombasa campaign level shown at E3 of 2003! However, from my understanding, Halo 2's engine is so fragile that modifying it like SPV3 wouldn't be possible. As far as mentioning my opinion of Halo 3 ODST's lack of changing the Covenant to appear more aggressive and larger; interestingly, I reached out to the mod creator FunnyAnyway on the Nexus website and he mentioned the player model in Halo 3 ODST is at about the right height lore wise. It's just, the Brutes in berserk mode and Jackals in combat mode, have a hunch that makes them appear smaller, especially the Jackals (makes sense, they make themselves a smaller target doing so.) I would have liked to have seen more aggressive and different animations for the Covenant in Halo 3 ODST. If there is a Halo 3 ODST mod that is able to showcase the Covenant in a more threatening way in which the retail version never did, I'd really enjoy making that kind of video. I'll keep an eye out friend. As for the over grown children, they mean nothing to me ;)
It’s too bad that Halo 2 can’t handle a complete overhaul. Hopefully people will be able to recreate some of the stuff. When you say more aggressive and exaggerated animations do you mean stuff like what was shown in the Bungie vidocs (th-cam.com/video/WPOlLH8p8u8/w-d-xo.html) and that part in Halo 4 where the Jackal bites a guard’s neck? If so that would be cool. EBR made a great video talking about what went wrong with the Halo 3 Brutes and how to improve them (th-cam.com/video/cL2zFh7cMUc/w-d-xo.html), he also has a video talking about how they changed overtime (th-cam.com/video/4DrYwh7rgCY/w-d-xo.html). A few things I would change in addition to his ideas would be to remove the Brute’s undersuit and keep them as hairy as they were in 2, replace the bodyguards with honor guards, make it so when their shields are down they would keep their armor but when you shoot it the different chunks would fall off making the shields be weaker and regenerate slower, the chieftains would have the fist of rukt and the lesser high ranking brutes would have the normal gravity hammers.. For ODST I would make it so for the first half of the game (minus the night levels) your fighting Elites, then for the second half (or last third) the Brutes would show up. It would be pretty similar but the remaining Covenant are turning buildings into bunkers and clearing those out are costly (they would have a bunch of barricades, shade turrets, vehicles, and AA turrets in place). Things would be going well then the Brutes would show up. At first they would reinforce the Elites but they would be uneasy and confused because now the Brutes have power armor and Brute plasma rifles (this would be revealed through natural means like someone making comments about the Covenant battle net similar to what Cortana did). Then while the Brutes and Elites are fighting alongside each other they would get the kill order resulting in an all out war. For the Great Schism the lower races would side with whoever was in charge of them at the time (there would be high ranking lesser covenant given the plasma rifles of their commanding race. The Elites would also have the Sharquoi/Drinol beasts which were originally going to be in Halo 2, and the Brutes would have the engineers). The Elites would have all the Halo 3 style weapons and vehicles (this includes the Halo 2 Scarabs, shade/deployable turrets, specters, wraiths with side guns, shadows, and other stuff), and the Brutes would have all the Halo 3/ODST stuff (wraiths with turrets, Halo 3 scarabs, and the new brute vehicles); this would add some continuity to the games, make it easier to tell who’s on who’s side (you can’t befriend either) and there could be a fight between the halo 2 and 3 scarabs. While they are more focused on killing each other is when you and the others would flee. There would also be a few small squads of halo 2 brutes under the elites used as expendable shock troops. I’m well aware that this will probably never happen (unless a group of modders get together to make it reality but that’s not very likely), but it’s a really cool idea. Also the deployable turrets from 2 would function the same way, and the 3 ones would fire slower but have red plasma that does more damage and would be similar to banished tech.

While Halo 2 didn't have my favorite A.I. behavior for all characters, I remember the Brutes were much more aggressive in Halo 2 than in Halo 3. Knowing Bungie created so many detailed animations for the Brutes yet hardly seeing them implemented into Halo 3 makes me wonder if time became too much of a factor.

Just a quick info. There are two versions of Silent Cartographer: Evolved One installed by SPV3 and one made by the original authors of that map. The authors just recently updated their TSC:E map (better graphics, weapon animations, etc)

This was a great video! I hope it blows up like your other video covering the Prometheus mod, 'cause SPV3 needs more love. I especially liked the fact that you covered the different marine permutations - I haven't seen close up looks at the SPV3 marine armours in any of the other videos covering the mod. Given how you exhaustively covered the Marine/Army armours in Reach, I guess it makes sense you'd cover the armours here too haha

Every redesign for the Marines pushes to make them look as little sci-fi as possible. I liked Halo Ce's metallic armor and electric holo-panels and stuff, but I guess anything is better than the 343 Era marines.
Idk, SPv3 is already pushing Halo: Custom Edition to it's limits. Personally I'd love to see what they could do with the other games when MCC has it's planned official mod support.

I want a halo mod where I can play the game as lore difficulty. The weapon will be as powerful in the lore , the spartan will be as strong as in the lore ... Running , jumping and superior reflexes all that

I think the Jackal shield should be an armor ability rather than a weapon. Also, don't sleep on the MA5E assault rifle, I've found it to be one of the best utility weapons.
Very fun mod. Still annoyed by the grenade launcher engine limitation, but it's whatever. Wouldn't recommend playing on Legendary however. I found myself getting frustrated on Legendary.
As of yet, no; the original PC port (which this is built on) didn't have a way to cleanly sync AI across the internet. I hope someone will eventually figure that out though because I'd love to see this playable in co-op.

Im a total console peasant. I have no idea how to even install this, even if i had a computer that could run it. I have a computer that struggles to load browser games. Also, no idea if i even have to own halo ce PC at all or if i have to buy things. I feel so underprivileged as a console gamer. I love my xbox and all.. but i like game customization. And im too poor to even think about getting a computer that can run anything. Plus, i dont even know how to type without looking down at the keyboard. RIP

@@blueshit199 Suit yourself anyways then, I liked that SPV3 restores some notable cut-content like more marines added on Silent cartographer, Originally when the pelican crashes and you have to go get the rocket launcher in that level, The marines are all dead, when according to the 1794 beta build of Halo CE, you were suppose to encounter extra marines defending themselves against nearby covenants, good thing SPV3 restored that. Adds more war-flavor to the Silent cartographer personally in my opinion.
SPV3 is the direction Halo's should have gone after CE. It keeps everything CE establishes and builds on it, where Halo 2 would remove and replace things, mostly for the worse like with Dual Wielding. Dual Wielding alone made half the weapons redundant because it caused them to have a nearly 50% damage nerf when used and made the BR stand on top instead of with the sandbox like we had in CE, SPV3 and Halo 5.
The creators of this mod should have added BLM logos in the helmets of the marines or confederate flags or lgbt flags or Christian crosses to be more realistic

You need to own a version of ce to download the mod, it can either be mcc or ce custom edition

I dont think any pc mod has ever come to console. Im pretty sure Halo CE runs on a modern potato laptop, so give it a try if you can

Singleplayer only unfortunately, I don't think Halo: Custom Edition has Co-op.

Dual Wielding alone made half the weapons redundant because it caused them to have a nearly 50% damage nerf when used and made the BR stand on top instead of with the sandbox like we had in CE, SPV3 and Halo 5.
