I'm all in on Classic+. Vanilla is my fav WoW, but I can't play a static version for the 1000th time. And I don't want another "season of" where everything is scrapped after the season ends.
After playing SOD I have 0 interest in vanilla again. I can't play vanilla without something new. I would rather them just do SOD TBC (with no new additional runes just tweaked raids) instead of fresh. I wouldn't want SOD to go to wotlk because sod is really just wotlk class design with slight variations in a vanilla game.
As a retail player who dabbled in SoD and beat classic. I think you guys are going to be playing indeed or retail. Fresh is meh and classic plus is 2026 or later

I would like to see dynamic world shaping that directly ties into the current state of the factions, except in classic. And instead of tying it to 1 expansion and then abandoning it, keep it relevant as time moves forward. I think it would be awesome to see the undead slowly repopulate WPL and EPL. Or maybe have the elves move down. Or the trolls. Or all at once. Or maybe make it server events where whichever faction takes the city and areas first keeps them for X amount of time and gets benefits for it idk

Who wants MoP Classic? Everyone who quit during Cataclysm for various reason who are now playing Cataclysm Classic cause they didn't get to finish it the first time around. Classic is just the second WoW Track.
This might he controversial... But instead of an alternative timeline, they could just easily slot a lot pf the stuff in that will compliment retail wow. In the timeline, there is 6 years in-between the end of retail wow and the start of cataclysm. I feel like they could fit stuff in. While retail wow characters are off doing TBC and Wrath stuff. Like hyjal could easily be pre-cata hyjal. Timberhaw hold could he finished. That said, there is some iffy ones. Karazhan being one of them. Grim batol as well. If we clear it out, why would it he infested again in cata? Tho they could do something like the dark iron highway leads to grim batol and we clear it out of dark iron dwarves.
TBC fresh is such a big Card Blizzard can play whenever they want. Oh Season of discovery ended and we are not ready for the next season...? Boom, TBC Fresh enjoy playing TBC for the next 12-14 months and if they are generous they let us finally keep at least 1-2 TBC Era realms. And no I do not agree that we need a classic Fresh first, we played Hardcore, Fresh Season of Mastery, Season of Discovery and some of us even Era again, we are ready to start directly into TBC prepatch that should last 1 week to give people time to hit 60 and then move on to Outlands.
To be entirely honest, they just need to get rid of the classic client and put everything on the retail client like they did with plunderstorm. Screw your older graphics. Let that be an additional download that could be done. As at some point there are just going to be way to many clients.
MoP Classic would be popular. It was Kung Fu Panda WoW. The kids it appealed to are grown up now and might want to play it again. The micro transactions will make them more money than a vanilla fresh or Classic +
I palyed vanilla, tbc and wotlk (solo). From memory I remember having a great time as a prot paladin in WOTLK but i couldnt get into it this time round and stopped playing after like a month of release. I really enjoyed TBC specifically dungeons, heroics, rep progression, Kara is iconic fun for me, SSC is nostalgia and fun, sunwell seemed cool but i felt BT was yawn and hyjal was rank. Classic/Vanilla is easily the best. 2019 release i got to 'finish the game'. Ran with a guilde through to killing KT.. Was so so much fun. I agree the phases went a little TOO long and they could probably remove a few trash packs from MC, especially AQ40 just cause it was boring and took ages. Nax was just.. glorious. I can't wait for a classic fresh, ima go hard on it again this time try and get that AQ gates mount and also xfer to era if they allow it and roll fresh for TBC fresh. KEEP THIS HAMSTERWHEEL GOING BBY.. Curious for Classic+ but very skeptical even pessimistic but time will tell. SOD was fun p1 but pvp and hunters were cooked, didnt come back after the whole incursions and crazy experimental imbalance turned me off. Anything after WOTLK is just meh nothing to me. I tried legion once and it was fun for a time but I was alone in a MMO which felt bad. Nearly all games are better when palyed socially. Anyway, this essay needs to end.
I think Turtle WoW is an amazing private server, but a large portion of the playerbase won't touch them. So to get that super populated Classic experience, we'd need Fresh or Classic+ imo.
My idea for TBC Hardcore. Once you reach level 60 in vanilla you are allowed to transfer over to TBC. If you die you go back to level 60 and lose all your gear

One of the reasons SoD currently is left to die with just SoM copy pasted raids into SoD. Every promise broken in the name of "We are working on Classic+, but shh! dont tell anyone!". Atm, I can bet you all the money in the world. There is not enough players interested in classic to fill out half a server, let alone 2-4 like you suggested. Everytime they relaunch these things, you only have the fanatics who have played this for over a decade on private servers that come back and only enjoy ruining the game for others. I can see your points, and I actually agree to a degree. Though I think you're wrong. Even at its lowest, both WotLK and TBC had huge playerbases. And now that everyone's re experienced the Classic trilogy, most people know where they want to be. So if they made Era servers after Fresh, I think it would genuinely do good for the game in the long-term. Again, I could be wrong, but I think it would work out well in the long-term.

Something else i think they should do is make a dedicated server of each xpac that resets after 2 or 3 years. Ps there is only 1 private server worth playing and thats ascension mainly because its a different ball game.
We just need fresh servers every 6 months. how tf have we gone this long without fresh servers? They need to be phased. if they want to add new quest lines that'd be cool too. definitely different raids would be nice. the original raids are trash. actually most of wow's endgame is trash. the only good part is the leveling and dungeons. after you get to 55+ the game just becomes garbage.
What I would like them to make is to make Pre-Patch settings from the beginning of the version of the game. e.g. TBC pre-patch settings in vanilla, WLK settings in TBC, etc. I had fond memories playing WLK Pre-patch in TBC for years. And also some fond memories playing TBC pre-patch in Vanilla.

Where are you pulling these million users coming back for classic fresh from? Currently You have 84,000 people raiding in season of Discovery you have around 18,000 people in era and he have like 220,000 people for cataclysm. If you combine all classic players, you're still only going to get up to around 300 to 350,000 players. Honestly, I think the fresh people are delusional about how many people would come back for a classic fresh after Re-Experiencing classic through classic until cataclysm. I don't think there's too many players that want to go back to just spamming one button(and if that button isnt on a warrior your doing it wrong). I definitely don't think there's a million of them

Ive pretty much lost faith in blizzard at this point. I feel like sod is the closest thing to classic + that we will get. They havent added any new landscape into the game at all, not even a new instanced dungeon, which tells me they cant add to the world thats already established.
At this point I feel like I've been dooped into playing sod for 8 months thinking end game would have something worth while, it's a big F U to alot of people that expected more than fire resistance in molten core.
I think classic fresh will do very poorly. Classic plus is where it’s at. Sod has been amazing streamers just like to shit on it when they don’t even play the game the nostalgia for classic is dead. Classic fresh means 25 fury warriors per raid if you want to be efficient. Once you balance classes, add might of storm wind, add chronoboon, xp buff now this is basically classic plus

Blizzard/capitalism is putting me in an awkward position. I have no qualms paying a subscription for an active service MMO. but they don't look at subscribers as that - they see us as POTENTIAL customers for the in-game store products.... which is a notion I abhor. I can't vocalise how disgusted I am by the notion of paying into a service and them expecting me to, hoping for me to, spend more money on inconsequential "content" ... I even dislike this notion inside of a free to play game ... but combining that with me paying "monthly" for access to the game - if they don't respect my autonomy enough, if they are not sated by my money at that point and greedily reach further, I lose interest in that thing.
You have a lot of energy and creativity for making good content, but you should seize the opportunity to diversify your content while you're still growing. There's probably nothing worse for a content creator than trying to diversify when they already have a big subscriber base and lose everything they built over years (athenewins, swifty, etc). Riding the classic copium train is fun and all but I don't want to see you burnout and waste your precious talent.

Blizzard/capitalism is putting me in an awkward position. I have no qualms paying a subscription for an active service MMO. but they don't look at subscribers as that - they see us as POTENTIAL customers for the in-game store products.... which is a notion I abhor.
I can't vocalise how disgusted I am by the notion of paying into a service and them expecting me to, hoping for me to, spend more money on inconsequential "content" ...
I even dislike this notion inside of a free to play game ... but combining that with me paying "monthly" for access to the game - if they don't respect my autonomy enough, if they are not sated by my money at that point and greedily reach further, I lose interest in that thing.

You have a lot of energy and creativity for making good content, but you should seize the opportunity to diversify your content while you're still growing. There's probably nothing worse for a content creator than trying to diversify when they already have a big subscriber base and lose everything they built over years (athenewins, swifty, etc). Riding the classic copium train is fun and all but I don't want to see you burnout and waste your precious talent.

I really like how you are able to analyse current facts and situations and turn them into high grade 99.76% pure copium with the right dose of sillyness by always assuming that game devs have insane ambitions for the future. This format can be applied to almost anything, and to me that's your signature style. If you're able to be self aware about that, you could make such videos about any fandom and it would be funny.

Haha, that's fair. I see what you mean. I'll have to think about what I could cover that I'd also be interested in, but it could definitely be an avenue I cover/build up on. But it would be easier as well if I can find a niche/topic that I can spitball as authentically as I can about WoW. League of Legends lore is another good one I could do.
