      Citizens staying as group's ,some and there were a lot of them that couldn't move their animals. They had no way to move them and no where to go,they would not leave their animals behind, so they stayed and fought in groups . No choice, those are the ones I worried about. Still not sure how they all made out.

      It is very rare to have fires so close to the major highways on the western side of the mountains. Some of the fires have been set with molotov cocktails. Perhaps if they hadn't tolerated so much arson in Portland (100 fires in 10 days) we wouldn't be burning so bad across the rest of the state. Your average arsonist doesn't use a molotov cocktail to start a fire. Your average radical does.
      Because they are trying to censor those of us who correlate the two, I offer this news story as proof, with an embedded photo of a molotov cocktail at the site.

    It still baffles me after all these years of the west coast fires. Fire man and forest fire fighting men and women do not use ocean water that is so close by to put out some of the flames

    • @hobbesthegoblin
      @hobbesthegoblin 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Most of the fires have been 50-100 miles from the coast, it doesn't make sense logiistically and like MG Stevens said it would salt the earth of any farm around.
      The problem with these fires wasn't a lack of nearby water, it was the once in a century gale force winds from the NW combined with the bone dry woods due to climate change, plus 100 years of the Forest Service putting out even small fires left us with an excess of tinder, and Kate Brown in the office of Governer. But the fires spread so fast the firefighters were just evacuating people, they couldn't even start suppression efforts until after the worst of the damage was done. On the other hand, 35 guys in Mill City saved their community on their own, so who knows what could have been done if it was addressed early enough.

    • @hobbesthegoblin
      @hobbesthegoblin 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@conniewolf7300 yes you're correct, but the winds from the NW that made these fires spread so quickly are almost unheard of in Oregon. It's not like the Santa Ana winds that are on every year. Of course climate change will create extreme weather patterns.

    Eugene OR here: We had a unique weather event. Strong desert winds from the east dropped humidity to 20% during a very dry summer. I think it COULD BE related to the HURRICANES a week earlier and IF SO may be something we can look out for. Anywhere there is strong wind and flammable homes packed together...that can happen. Blocks and blocks of destroyed urbanized areas indicate we first access "fire science" in building practices. Forest and grass management is important. 'Climate change' may be real but so far it has just been used to justify scams like OR, CA, WA, and NV 'low carbon fuel standard' ... billions stolen from the people via much higher than average gas prices. America has way too many bosses and attorneys. The handful of workers get blamed for all so tend to do nothing anywhere ever. Blame the attorneys. 100% of the blame for all the homes and all the dead people... attorneys caused it.

      I'm sorry for everyone having to go through this. I hope a good way forward will be found. Putting solar panels on all buildings rebuilt could help reduce climate change fuelling emissions. Solar panels are good value as they produce energy for a long time with very little maintenance and over time pay for themselves. A lot of people in the U.K. have them on their roofs now, there is a scheme that means you do not have to have any money up front to pay for them but can pay for them when you start receiving an income from selling the extra energy you do not need. This is a real win-win situation, campaign to have a similar scheme in the U.S. I hope everyone will find peace of mind.
