Interesting viewing. Thank you. When managing wide rides, have you thought about putting in rise-side clearings to coincide with stands of hazel and then re-cutting every 7 years? That way you might get habitat, have someone cut it for you and support the small scale rural economy. The ride might link the islands of coppice.
