I can literally hear the new bearings already crying. You, really gotta put pressure on the outer part of it, otherwise they will be noisy. Can easily use a washer for that purpose.
It depends on how it’s fixed. In his case he should have pressed/hammered the outer race. If the bearing was to be fixed on a rod/shaft then in this case he should press/hammer the inner race. I’m not a mechanic but I fix things.
Might I just suggest putting something between your bearing and hammer when you’re putting the new bearing in. Like a piece of wood, this help spread the impact when you hit it and you don’t risk damaging your new bearing.

Yeah don't do this to your bearings you are damaging them set them in light force with your fingers to set them full washers to cover and tighten the bolt

I would expect scooter riders to be smart enough to know not to install bearings by putting pressure on the middle, let alone know the name for a ratchet.

It also runs better and puts less stress on the bearing if you take the spacer out and do not over tighten
@@dennycrane2323False. The spacer sets the preload at intended torque. Bearings with no preload run like crap, have play, and wear out much faster.

Tip use washers that covers the entire bearing face for both sides, this will spread the pressure and not mess up the inner race or seals

You shouldn't put too much pressure on the inner raceway for the bearings. You could pop it out and mess up the bearings. Just hammer it in
