From the states, awesome.
Keep it up!
@@tomallen6073 Thanks Tom, always good to hear from our brothers across the pond!
I got one of these for Xmas in1985 I was 13 I carried that thing all over the farm it used to knock the stuffing out if anything it hit and I'm sure it got more powerful the more I shot it probably my favourite springer ever.
Mate. Exactly what this rifle was intended for!
It was probably knocking out 14 - 15ft lbs. Most of them were in them days
@christophersavill4785 this one was when we first got it in the shop!
Good gun with proper spring and ported.
I was impressed with this stock version. Would love to try one of the Venom tuned ones.
Another great video thank you keep them coming. 👍
Thank you. I’ll see what comes up next!
Yet another super review and close on to the previous one you did which is great. You’re modest and very generous to link that other guy’s post on Weihrauch (adore their products but oh I do hate having to type that name 🫨).
Nice to see a .22 being reviewed too 👍
Thanks Nick. Really appreciate the comments. 👍

You really are most welcome, the praise is well deserved mate. I do like your ‘down to earth’ reviews. Please keep’em coming when you can 😁
Ive just replaced the original seals in my 80 . Thought after 35 years they might need doing 😂 . This is a super reliable and accurate gun , it will never give you problems as long as its maintained and will outlast a tx200 twice over.
Whoops. I traded it in. 😨
I have 7 air guns including HW 80 and HW 77 11:36 I can't let any of them go 😊
@@kouroshdavoudi7828 not such thing as too many guns!
A lovely rifle!
Thanks Steve. Not mine any more! Back in the shop. Trade in done. 😪
Great review. I would say that the HW80, with the right tune is arguably one of the finest break barrels on the market - as long as you don't need to lug it around thru the Fields...I think that place can be taken by a HW99s. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Steve. I would love to get my hands on one of the venom tuned HW80's
@@gardenguns I'm very fortunate to have 3 of Steve Pope's (RIP) reduced cylinder 80's...they are unbelievable good in both shot cycle and accuracy.
You should put a video up about those!
@@gardenguns unfortunately, I'm a watcher not a maker when it come to the world of video production ...
It's all down hill after you make that first video!
35 & 80 both have 30mm pistons, easiest way to keep the power down is the short stroke the piston.
I think that is what Neil did.
The 80 as well as the rws 54 aren't that happy being restricted . Run lovely at 18 - 20 ft lbs
super rifle, nice review, but id die before i used sights on it, just not needed in my book. all the cheers.
Thank you glad you enjoyed it!
Surprised you are getting rid of one of the finest break barrels ever made for a TX. A good HW80 is incredibly accurate. My only guns to equal it are the 77 and 97. I have a prosport and an HW 80 i bought in 89. I know which one i would keep.
@@majorscope I am sure I will regret trading it in. However the TX200 I have is an HC and is SWEET! Also it’s in .177 and I don’t have a springer in that caliber. As good as my HW80 was it was long and a bit of a safe queen. I found myself shooting my 99s more. So time for the 80 to go to finance the TX.
Yes I agree that the HW 80 is one of the finest break barrel rifle but the MK1 is the best of all of them also the air arms pro elite is probably the finest break barrel ever produced in looks and quality.
You will regret trading it in!!!!
I nearly always do! Unfortunately it is the only way I can afford the TX200.
Please drop the SHE.
Won’t be a problem any more. IT has been traded in!

Cheers Nick. He did a really good job on the history and relationship between the R1 and the HW80. No point in reinventing the wheel!
