Yet another composer I have never heard of, thank you for uploading this magical calming piece of music.

Listening to this lovely trio without being told who the composer was, I'd have said "it is a lost and found minor composition from Brahms..." And it'd be a compliment to Prince Heinrich

I emailed the pianist James Maddox and he replied: "The violinist is Alfred Lutz, the violist Stefan Blaumer. This is one of several recordings I made with the Westdeutsche Rundfunk (WDR) and string players from their Symphony Orchestra, variously known as WDRSO, Kölner Rundfunk Sinfonieorchester, Cologne Radio Symphony between 2008 and 2012."

Wonderfully lyrical piece. Hopefully we can hear more work by this very talented composer. (Is it just me or does anybody else think that the guy in the foreground with the cigar looks like a young Albert Einstein?). Thanks for posting!

Another great, sadly neglected Romantic composer who, like many others, lived in the shadow of Brahms. Unfortunately the only recording I can find of his music is the lovely Viola Sonata Op. 22. There are so many other excellent pieces of his just waiting for recordings to be made!

Every male member of the aristocratic family of Reuss since the Middle Ages was named Heinrich.
That's the reason for the high Roman numbers behind the names. The son and heir of this Duke hasn't the number XXV, but XXIX.
Two of the three family branches starting at number I every generation (30 years), the
third one begins a new numbering with a new century.
    Strange tradition, isn't it?

Announcer at the end: Sounds like Alfred Lutz, violin; Stefan Blaume, viola; James Maddox, piano
