- MMA H.E.A.T.'s Karyn Bryant catches up with Jason "Mayhem" Miller 12 days before his fight at UFC 146, and hears what he has to say about facing CB Dollaway. Jason talks about why he has to win this fight, what happened in the bout he lost to Michael Bisping and how teammate Krzysztof Soszynski has helped him get in the best shape of his life. We also hear about Jason's pursuits outside of the octagon and how he constantly works to improve his art and we see him train with UFC middleweight contender Mark Munoz.

Makes me so sad to see him as he was, to as he is now.
I feel bad for Jason. He seems like he is a decent person but just makes bad choices over and over. I hope he can get his shit together and he doesn't end up like War Machine. Seems like he is heading down the same road though.
Bellator should sign him, they need a personality who isn't associated as a ufc throwaway, with a decent talent pool and some notable characters in the mix they could do a a lot with mayhem

Not really because some people haven't seen those interviews. This was my first time hearing about him retiring if he loss. The Bisping fight was his most recent and he did hint to that something was wrong.

Right. But I was addressing your comment questioning his toughness..He clearly was not prepared technique wise, but he was pretty damn tough because he took a ton of punishment without tapping
i can't speak for the 2005 thing, but the sister thing was clearned up pretty fast. he didn't choke, but basically held his sister against her will because she was trying to get behind the wheel of her car while drunk.
It's good that he's training with Munoz. CB Dollaway is a good wrestler as well.

Man, I want to see Miller on one of those Joe Rogan podcasts... his season of TUF was the only one I watched to its entirety.
Laying on somebody's chest opens up submissions as well! Plus the only reason Chael was able to lay like that on Anderson for so long is BECAUSE he was active. The ref would have stood it up otherwise and actually did a couple of times when Chael stopped his pillowfist assault. But none of this matters, Anderson won, and he will win again and shut people up like you forever, and then people will forget about Chael.
You got to understand Mayhem's personality ....hes the same as the ICON Sport fight days

I think its more how he looked in the loss.He has looked a lot better against top guys outside the UFC but then he gets to the big show and looks horrific.

last week before a fight is hard man! cutting weight, dehydration coming up. it makes you really easy to get angry and frustrated.
Well you cant really question Mayhem's toughness in that fight because the ref stopped it.. Mayhem didn't want the fight to stop even during those knees to the body at the end.
Also really helped that Anderson never once attempted to do a triangle until the perfect time. Shows why he is so amazing, he got Chael's sorry ass to forget about defending it.
Sonnen didn't get subbed because he was punching Anderson, he got subbed because Anderson punched him in the face from the bottom and stunned him which caused Sonnen to cover up by digging his head into Anderson's stomach which opened him in prime position for a triangle. Not at one point in that situation did Chael's ground and pound have anything to do with that.

its common sense... if you think about it.. hes a fighter, its days before his fight, hes hungry, dehydrated, and he was just about to spar so he was in his ass kicking mind frame. And he knows he needs this win bad. Everyone has bad moods. You or i can't imagine what hes going through.

When he said meals it made me think of the person who has the UFC impersonations on TH-cam. The one with Reem saying he gained weight because he eats a lot of meals is pretty funny.
I am suprised how many people knock Mayhem for losing to Bisping.. First of all, Bisping is a great fighter.. Second of all, Mayhem is not the first quality fighter to get destroyed.. Dolloway is a classy guy and I like him, but hes not in the same league as Mayhem
I lost much respect for Mayhem talking to Karyn like that. I understand we all have bad days but that is no excuse to disrespect a lady.

Poor Mayhem is the king of Psychobabble, credits himself with about 90% more intelligence than he actually has and just runs with whatever comes into his head with virtually no spam filter in place whatsoever.

He had a busted up knee because he would have finished CB. He made CB buckle a couple of times but when he went to finish him his leg gave out.

I understand how sparring works but seriously... If Munoz was really trying to take Miller down, it would have taken all of three seconds. I like Miller so I hope he doesn't do whatever it was that he did (certainly not fight) against Bisping. Same goes for Hardy.

Mayhem was uncharacteristically agitated during this interview. I don't think he meant to be disrespectful or malicious. I think he's stressed out about this fight meaning the future of his life of fighting vs the future of his retirement from pro fighting. He's probably stressed and scared.
Carrot top might make a lot more money than jason miller, but miller would still kick his ass.
Interviewing ufc fighters is for sure more difficult than interviewing any othe sport athlete by a loooong shot lol

Besides I happen to like Mayhem, both as a fighter and a personality but that doesn't mean I have to pretend that he is a quantum physicist.
mayhems last couple losses were against tough tough guys, I wouldnt understand him getting cut if he loses this fight by a decision.

I'm with Mayhem. Those questions were awful and have been repeated constantly since the last fight. He is fighting this week...try asking relevant questions about his upcoming fight. I'd be frustrated and annoyed too.
It definitely did suck compared to the last set of interviews I watched of his... By no means do I think Karyn's questions were off base or anything but he did seem agitated.
Usually even in his agitation he's more comical. So whatever was bugging him must still be present, he didn't answer it and he didn't denounce it so hopefully he can smash CB I'd like to see him against some top competition.
Bisping is just picking his game up so far and Miller gassing it wasn't a top fight.
Being grouchy from his diet and training is no excuse to treat that lady like shit. She was not being rude, but just trying to interview and ask questions. If he wasnt in the mood, he could have declined the interview vs treating her harshly.
I don't think he was that much of a dick. Like the dude above said, he's in fight mode, he's hungry for a win and is ready to stomp CB's face in. I enjoy Mayhem's interviews the most out of any fighters. He keeps it fun, he's intelligent and he doesn't believe in that God bullshit.
If you knew anything about wrestling you'd know wrestling no equal MMA. That fight should've been stood up many times considering CB couldnt even finish a guy on the ground who blew out his knee.

The way his attitude was in this interview was perfect... Kinda pissy and agitated with a slight chip on his shoulder... That means he's in fighting mode already ... In his last training camp I don't remember him being this moody during his interviews... So hopefully his level of aggression is more on point when in the cage with C.B then when he fought Bisbing. He still managed to get some jokes in tho...lol
I watched this video and thought the diet must be making him crazy. He was a bit out of control and rude to a very nice woman.
The interview started off kind of tough though. Pressure to win next fight, alternative careers in case he loses, excuses for his loss to Bispbing and comparison to Carrot Top. Maybe it's tough to stay cool after all that!
