      Thanks for great video as usual John. I have been doing your workouts and really enjoying the new routines and results! Something I think would really benefit your videos, and your followers, is to have a summary at the end; exercises, sets, reps, rest time between sets, etc. and I think it would be best to have it in written form on a blackboard or white board with a nice easy to read font. Please let me know what you think and look forward to learning more in future vids!

      you’re absolutely right because most people fail to realize that unless you really beat the crap out of your legs, it’s hard to make them grow past your initial plateau. Because we walk all the damn time our legs are usually getting a workout every day. Unless you sit on your ass, it is office chair, then your legs are so weak that by the time you finish your warm upset that John, did you already ready to hit the showers.

    I don't often see that ELEVATED FRONT FOOT split squat, but I like the idea because I don't have the best sense of balance in the world (If I ever find myself on a tightrope, I'm going to try to speed-write a will on the way down) and I think elevating the front foot leads to easier balancing than even both feet on the floor (much less rear foot elevated). As to the hack squat, I saw a trainer in the gym the other day doing that backwards -- facing toward the machine instead of away, and sort of leaning into it. I asked her what the purpose was and she said it was another way to hit the glutes. Ever try anything like that?

  • @lofficer11
    @lofficer11 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    is it just me? but I notice the seated leg curl is much easier than the lying leg curl machine. Maybe it is due to your body angle. Also the lying leg curl machine sometimes gives my lower back issues. I lower the weight but it still suck. The seated version gives my lower back zero issues at any weight.

My gym does not have that piece of equipment to rest my leg on while I do that squat and hold on to the bar. Can I use a bench instead? Also, how much weight were you handing her everytime? At first glance it looks like a Back Extension, which is done for the lower back, but actually John is performing a Hyper Extension there, which he's doing for the hamstrings and glutes. The form is different for each exercise, even though some people use the latter as a generic name for both, so research them thoroughly before you attempt, just to make sure that you're emphasising the body part you want to work.

      mountaindog1 1.) you do realize that was a blanket statement about pump chasing, not about your entire video
      2.) I can get a full leg workout in, with less time, and have it be more effective with just squats and stiff leg deadlifts, using progressive overload (assuming I do more weight than previously)
      3.) all of your movements were pump focused, which has been shown to be less effective for stimulating Hypertrophy in naturals. Which 75%-90% of your audience is natural

      Dammit! I am lean! :( I want to be like you guys You, Frank, Carlito xxxl Branch.
      Dam well can I say this please?
      When did you start getting this freak status of vascularity. Like when you were a young and never lifted. Or, did it happen what a certain body fat estimate (since it is impossible to actually know on the dot).

    Way to go, turn your back at the smith machine ;)
    Why no barbell squats, btw? I see you did hack squats, and one might argue those have similar effect. But then we got this dude called Tom Platz who says barbell squats AND hack squats is all you ever really need, for great legs.
    He also said the Leg Press is useless, dunno why really.
    T'would be great if you could elaborate on why you do certain exercises, more then that (certain) machines gives you that strong mind muscle connection.

    That's not short on time,if you really are short on time just superset leg press and calf raise at the leg press on a pyramid set (1 plate no rest 2 plater 3,4,5,4,3,2,1) then 5 superset leg extension leg curl in n out in 30 min

    Are people's attention span so poor that they need loud music in between each set of 4 reps? Lol...what a time we live in
