I immediately have a first impression. Go ahead and put some Minwax or tung oil leaving the strings on and then with the soapy damp cloth go ahead and wash the strings immediately.
most of the oil will already be sunk into the dry fretboard.
    Easy peasy

Now I'm thinking you could probably put that thin oiled cotton cloth underneath a credit card slide that whole thing under to protect the strings and rub up and down sideways and around. Who knew your video would have me so engaged

You're coming up with some creative ways to avoid taking all the strings off, Wendy! It's really not too bad, and you can really get in there with elbow grease once the strings are all off. If you have trouble with that, I do have a string change video and bridge placement video for you! Thanks for your comments. I'm happy the video is engaging!! Best, Tom

@@TomCollinsBanjo thanks. I'm looking at your older videos. I'm also Googling all kinds of stuff. Some people say the oil on your fingers is enough. But my hands are always freshly washed when I touch anything so I don't know about that idea.
In any case I'm off and down the rabbit hole see you in about a week haha
