My father's lost his voice, walking ability, and balance after DBS. He caught an infection during battery replacement and entire DBS had to be removed. He became bedridden thereafter. He flew to the surgery on his own.

My name is David a Olsen. I was diagnosed in 2017 with Parkinson’s. My doctor says I’m at the mid stage now the medicine writer has been helping, but it doesn’t do the whole trick he wants to do DBS my question is after you got the DBS were you able to do Normal functions by yourself or did you have to have a caregiver to standby you for the first few days? I’m kind of nervous about it. Doctor has recommended. I’m an older gentleman at 72. He wants my children to come to be with me so he can explain everything to them, you still got it done if you could give me any information on this thanks again for your video. It was a big help thank you. God bless and stay strong.

Hahaha... I am going to risk saying that lack of tolerance may have more to do with a gained/shifted perspective than simply DBS...not to say they aren't related. But you have experienced something far more impactful than red wine versus white...lol also being away from social situations and now immersing once again is exhausting. We have had the luxury of not being faced with trivial issues for 18months, then we emerge to face the emptiness of some. Either way- you look great!!! Excited for you and this new journey. Nothing but the best. Shine on.

Agree. I am considering DBS and my neurologist is a real cutie.

Well…considering DBS. But won't have people in my home. Guess this long term need rules this out.

Dont. My father's DBS was a nightmare. He lost his voice, walking ability, and balance after DBS.

@@ssap3717I know it’s been a while since you posted but I just wanted to answer. I had dbs last of April and it’s been a nightmare. I had fallen in shower and couldn’t get up. My wife called emt and they took me to hospital. They thought I had a stroke but wouldn’t do an mri abuse of the unit being in. My wife told them it wasn’t turned on but they wouldn’t do it. I spent a week in hospital and two weeks in a rehab. I lost my voice and my balance. I’m home now but got to do home therapy for a while. It sucks and I would never do it again.
I hope everything turned out good for your family and they are doing good. Take care
