@@tommaynard8101 you make have lost the TTD 2022 tournament but you must feel £1000 richer for winning the other competition. I know which one I would chose.
Given the success of the table tennis bar in central London, I think this could work well. There is clearly a demand for it and the sort of people who go into the city for a night out have the money to pay for it.
Imagine if the US takes Table Tennis seriously, bruh, they could take the top spot in 20 yrs. The existence of Ping pod is an encouraging step towards that dream.
Hey Dan, great video as always, keep it up!Just wondering if you know if the World ping pong champs/masters is going to happen next month because I haven't seen or heard about the next tournament?
Well, Ping Pod ist for wealthy people. In NYC where you have tons of people with high income and few spacy places it can work well, but in Germany for example where there are often more than one club per city, they literally search for kids to start the sport. We even give out rackets for free to get started. It is a dying sport, but very cheap to join a club like ten quid a month. Of course PINGPOD is like ten times cooler, but expensive. Well NYC real estate. I can understand.
it just show off ... you can`t it really compare to European or Asia sport clubs. But still it is a progression in US ... When i was in Dallas, it was really hard to find any club in reach (by foot or bike) in such a large city and also open hours was not soo good .
It's good that the company locked in financing ahead of the coming recession, which gives it a runway of a couple of years. I don't think it's going to survive over the long-term or even the next five years, but would be delighted if proved wrong since it's such a cool concept.
mean why not? since its fully automated they hardly even have to pay staff wages and make supplemental income with the merch sales and such, also it seems TT is becoming more popular in US..
There’s was a real sense of community at each of the Pod’s from what we saw. Add to the fact that every table has mulitple cameras pointed directly at it, and you can only unlock the front door if you have booked a reservation and paid for your session…..I don’t think people abusing kit is an issue 😊
@@TTDJoe This 100% will get abused. The question is whether or not this is sustainable business model and will the owners care about longevity rather than short-term profit.
@@jplanglais Maybe I’m misunderstanding what you mean by abused. Do you mean someone intentionally causing damage to the tables? Breaking balls, snapping bats etc?
@@TTDJoe Well somebody taking advantage of something otherwise not meant to be used "like that". People damaging the infrastructure (iPad, table, walls, neons, etc..) You know.. people being people..
@@jplanglais I understand the concern but that really wasn’t my experience when we were there for the week. Ofcourse accidents and general wear and tear will always happen at any club. But as far as someone breaking stuff on purpose, I don’t think it’s a major concern. To even get in the door you have to have signed up to the app, input all your details, including your payment details and then activate the unlock door function. Then when you walk in the place is like Fort Knox, with cameras everywhere 24/7. It’d be pretty crazy of someone to then cause damage intentionally to the kit when they know there is no anonymity. There is also a slack community set up, so anything and everything can be reported on there in live time for the PingPod team to see, good and bad. I genuinely was blown away by the set up they have there and the positivity already in place at the pods we visited.

How cool is PINGPOD! Would you like to see one in your city?
Yeah
It's very nice, but...$15-$50 per hour? Cough.

So much fun checking out what Pingpod are doing, amazing places! 😁👌
Can you ask Pingpod to make a venue in London, Tom?

The future of TT clubs! Looks awesome.
Looks very cool, hopefully this project will see expansion outside US 🔥
The beast's reaction should be a meme. Lmao. He was speechless at the Pingpong vending machine XD.
Muhaha 💯

maybe the @TableTennisDaily guys can work something out with the PingPod guys :D
@@RambO5018 I'm guessing it's already a franchise but the cost to a potential owner ain't gonna be cheap. The spec of that place is very expensive.
Never say never! 😊
OMG, this PingPod is so Cool.....it takes the good old pingpong into the future Table Tennis with technology. I'll definitely go if I'll be in NY!!
Had a sick time with ttd in pingpod! The pods really are next level places 🌎
the instant replay function is cool. Would like to try it out in Germany.
Yeah never miss a great moment.. or donkey 😁🐴
The instant replay is awesome.
Yeah it's so sick!
Welcome to the States guys! Great video.
Thanks! We had a blast 🙌
This is insane! The machine option just a killer! 😃🤩🏓
This is the Coolest most amazing place to play TT. Love it.
Let’s gooooooooo! 👊🏻 PingPod bringing Table Tennis into the Modern age!
Needless to say, I'm in love!!!
Damn, that is so cool! If there was one of these in my city I would go every day
I gotta go visit the place! I work in NYC and didn't know about it until now 😎😍
Oh 100% get yourself down to one of them 🔥
This looks Fantastic🔥How long before we see these in every country 👀
Excellent setup.Cheers!!
👊🔥
Can't wait for the matches!
We would all love to see you spreading all over the world 💙
Wow! Hopefully they build one in Chicago!
Need them everywhere
Need more table tennis in the US
Amazing... Hope I could play there. But bit worry if there's a blade fly and hit the glass wall... 😁
It is the best of the best!!! 🏓
Dan wishes to rematch with Adam Bobrow in Ping Pod? Adam has released video about Ping Pod in the same time.🤣

Niceeee, we need that in Germany haha - especially in Dresden :D
Большое спасибо за обзор этого клуба!
GOTTA LOVE THE CONCEPT 🔥
loved man, hey guys come to Vancouver, plenty of clubs with good players here :)
When are the TTD vs PingPod matches going live?
Great video! Will we see match highlights from Pingpod?
What an amazing place. But have to say Tom Maynard this is not the 1st vending machine to distribute rubbers mate 😂😂😂
My dream place to visit❤
Wow, next level ❤️👍
I got to go one time, had a good time. Cool place!!
This is brilliant. Are there plans to introduce PINGPOD to Europe and, more specifically, to the UK?
4:40 "Now we have rubbers coming out (of the vending machine)." Well, PINGPOD didn't originate that idea.
Really nice... wttf should take a serious look (if not already done).
love ur vid :DD
Would I be able to open up a place similar to this in Greece? I think that such a place would bring a lot of new people to the sport
Wow this is an awesome idea. They should make it a franchise if its highly profitable.
Can u share more details on the rubber or racket vending machine and how much does it cost ?
That looks awesome

Did that Pingpod vs TTD came up?
Amazing technology
Awesome
I went to the one in Philadelphia. It didn’t have as many features and there were no former pros haha
It looks very cool, but it seems too expensive. At least for someone who lives in Germany where table tennis is more accessible.
Pingpod is the Cobra Kai of table tennis if u know what i mean
Have you tried fast pong
nice vid
Im not sure if i missed it, but if u do a collab with pongfinity, that would be crazy.
Do they offer subscription or concessions? $10-15 per hour is quite steep

That’s the American way. Only privileged people can be good. Almost pay to win
Way too expensive just go to a club
