The Powerpuff Girls was a show made for everyone. The creators did not have an audience in mind. There was a lot of blood and gore in the first four seasons. Seasons five and six were just the girls doing one thing for the entire episode.
I was about to comment that xD I understand what Gleen meant, as a kid initially I felt the same way, but later I gave a chance to the show and it was super cool with cool fights and even blood. I really recommend the PPG documentary, the creator wanted the show to be somewhat mature contrasting the protagonists, and they were also fans of the N64 and Zelda, unfortunately they weren't able to get a good developer for this game
Same. Thought it was a girly show. Checked it out and thought it was great. Was afraid to admit to my friends in school that i watched it. Little did i know that they too were fans lol
weird how girls enjoy content clearly aimed at young boys all the time but as soon as a cartoon had a female main character it's instantly labeled for girls lol
yeah same with many consoles, its just the better games are going up insanely right now. Over £100 for a conkers bad fur day thats not even rare....shesh!

Man I'm really glad to hear that you thought this game was hard. I was like 10 when I played this and while I actually kinda liked the show, I was so embarrassed with myself that this game kicked my ass.

Actually, the Powerpuff Girls had an evenly mixed demographic and fanbase. I know I was as much a part of it as my sister. Also, why is Blossom blonde in this game? She's supposed to be a light brunette.
I don't think this guy ever watched this show. Theirs a scene in this show where the blue one rips some monsters spike off his head, then proceeds to stab it through this throat, in which it falls over in a pool of blood. This show is for anyone really. I'm not a big fan but it's a decent show. Don't think it's mlp.
my sister is seven years younger than me and received the ps1 version for her birthday many years back. we both loathed the game, but had some half-decent fun enjoying the horribly flawed gameplay in the multiplayer mode. it's like fighting on crutches, except nobody is laughing at you except yourself.
Y'know, part of it probably comes from being a mother but it drives me up a wall when games (As well as shows and even at times books) are made with little to no effort and are completely half-assed simply because of the notion that kids have "Lower standards." They should have quality entertainment that doesn't look down on them, and when it comes to video games in an era where the larger majority of games are more for adults and teens I wish there were more games for younger or general audiences that were good as they are very far and few between and for every Little Big Planet, Rayman or Worms there's tons of dreck like this just to squeeze bucks out out of parents, and pander and look down on kids. >_< Oh and good review as usual!

I loved the show. And Cartoon Network had some fantastic shows back then: Dexter's Laboratory, Cow & Chicken, I am Weasel, Johnny Bravo, Ed, Edd and Eddy, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Swatkats, Samurai Jack.
Yeah, being your n64 channel, the gameplay is nasty, graphics is blocky and ugly, Speeches are muffled, and awful sound repeats all over and over again, but the PlayStation still a lot better

Speaking of Nickelodeon, have you seen some of the newer shows on that channel like Legend of Korra or the new TMNT cartoon? If not, I highly recommend checkin' 'em out.
This was the last game I rented for the N64 from my local video store. It's the worst N64 game I ever played at the time. I spent maybe an hour playing it and returned it the very next day, despite having a five-day rental period.

well if you have it on your everdrive its worth a play! then you might get the sense of frustration i had with it, i felt it could have been a good game its just so unfinished and buggy

What is it with licensed games copying the gameplay from other games, and yet managing to fuck up what already worked?? I mean, shouldn't COPYING something be the easiest way to make money? You don't have to make your own engine, you don't have to come up with gameplay ideas, you only have to put a new skin of graphics on it... piece of cake right??

Powerpuff Girls really did have potential to make a good game out of it.
I had a niece who was young enough at the time the Power Puff Girls where out to be of age to enjoy them who had the t-shirts, and DVD's, so she also had the PS1 version, and it was really really bad, and the Power Puff Girls over all have not been well represented in video game form, with most all the games being cheap cash in titles, but at least DEVO did a song about the Power Puff Girls :D

Just word to the wise, some of there music is a bit of a political statement on the NWO(New World Order), and corporatism type stuff, but still campy.

I had this game when i was a kid. It was fun in small doses, like some weird chaotic button smasher type game. The music looping over and over and over is what i personally think is the laziest part of this rushed out game... How could they release it like that???
well the n64 version is worse, its a little better in the ps1 version but no variation means it gets old so quick! i assume it was a very small development team on the back of how bad this is

***** Naa Penny Racers was basic for sure with regards to shading but definitely not cell shaded. I could be wrong but as I remember it got big in the next generation in games like Jet Set Radio Dreamcast and Zelda Wind Waker Gamecube. My God this is awful. The game looks like an alpha build hack at best. What a cheap waste of a license. Kid-oriented or not, the girls did have a rabid fan base back in the day.,,and probably lost a good chunk of them after having played this drek.

Thats the same as tom and jerry fists of fury, but that game was good
Never played this game before but I'd heard it was a Powerstone type of game. Going by the review I'll stick to the DC this time.
