No more "Come on Ashhh.. Come on Ashhhh" 💔 we grew up watching your impeccable spells and your beautiful bowling style and run up!!! You're a LEGENDARY CRICKETER indeed!! A genius on and off the pitch ⭐
7 games in chennai.. not going to miss even a single second this time. We will for the very last time we will hear mahi shouting those lines again…. For the very last time!
After India’s WC win in 2011, the main Sponsor Castrol arranged at ITC Gardenia hotel, Blore, a get together of the 2011 WC players, ex players and few of us from corporate world. I attended that meet as an invitee of Castrol coz at that time I was the CEO of a joint venture Comapny in Bangalore and we were customers of Castrol. Suddenly from somewhere Ashwin came to me and “introduced” himself in a humble manner saying “ I am Ashwin” . I was completely blown off. Here is a player, maybe an emerging one according to him, who with all humility comes and introduces himself to a completely unknown person like me. Ashwin, I have never forgotten that and I salute you by wishing you the very best in your life. Indian cricket needs your fantastic cricketing brain. I hope to cross lines with you one of these days.
Ashwin is the epitome of a thinking cricketer. In Harsha sir’s oft used words he embodies a thinking cricketer. The time chosen by Ashwin to retire could not have been more prudent. He saw Jadeja ensuring his name on the team sheet by his batting at the Gabba. Even in Sydney he might have seen indications that even if 2 spinners play, Sundar might be preferred. Rather than spending another 3 weeks especially Christmas and new year away from family, he would rather spend it with them. He also saw, having lost his place in white ball cricket that the next red ball assignment was in England where again others will be preferred, he decided to unencumber himself from the demands of international cricket and focus on the several other areas of his busy life. Very astute and timely decision.
I always felt like Ashwin was made to sit out on lot of away tests because the batters were not doing their job. Paying the price for someone else’s fault is a tough thing to do. I’m amazed at his resilience to stick around for so long. If selection was made on bowling merit alone, then he would have played at least another 20-25 more tests by now.
I also think so. As the batters are failing to score overseas, Jadeja has been called upon as a prop for his batting. His performance with ball overseas has not been noteworthy. But for that Ashwin had to suffer, though he himself was a very good batsman in his own right.
Absolutely true.. even if he is not picking wickets he is holds a 2.5 economy. Even in second test he is the second best bowler for India on a flat and pace friendly track. He may not bat 60 runs always in test, but he saves 60 runs with the ball which will help others to pick wickets! Such an underrated guy!
This is an actually quote of Harsha, "Ravi Ashwin is not a spin bowler but a spin scientist." That's exactly how I will remember Ashwins cricketing career. Ravi "The Spin scientist" Ashwin.
Harsha, you expressed your views so beautifully of a person who deserves nothing but admiration and respect for who he did for cricket and more so for Indian cricket. To me your view almost echo'ed, my thoughts about Ashwin who comes across as a wonderful human being, but also a fierce competitor on the field.
Forget a Chapter...its more than a book !! Ashwin was US playing the game. His YT channel proved it further. The excitement and love he had for the game, the desire to win was paramount. The respect we see in the eyes of the Juniors for Ash, not intimidation or fear, just respect...it speaks volumes. After the NZ series, we knew if anyone in the team was hurting the most, it was Ashwin. Bumrah will be India's greatest Test player ever when he retires, but until that no one comes even close to Ashwin. And he does not require paid campaigns or fanbases in social media to say that. His performance answer everything. In my ideal future, I see Ash joining the team as a Spin bowling mentor ASAP. Sundar, Kotian, Sai Kishore and others in the coming generations need him immensely.
If there was anybody who would have made a tribute on Ashwin;I was sure Harsha would've been one of the firsts to do it! Loved the conversations between these two.
He is such a team player always sacrificed for his team. Even now his retirement timing overshadowed his team's senseless batting superstars on paper. Kudos man
It was really disheartening to see Ashwin's sudden retirement. I was counting his wickets since he took 100 wickets and was waiting to see him most wicket taking bowler of the country. He was one of the best player India ever produced. First time I got upset by cricket player's retirement after Sachin! All the best to him ❤
Ashwin was a true teacher of the game. He needs to be there somewhere. Respect how nathan lyon came along with Pat Cummins to appreciate and acknowledge him
Fantastic video. Only Harsha can describe Ashwin's achievements in such a grand manner. Thanks Harsha on behalf of lakhs of Ashwin's Fans around the World. 👍👏👏
Marvellous! Thank you Harsha for this wonderful gift. Wish I could hug Ashwin too and say please don't. Want to see this scientist in action both with a ball and bat. Alas we just have to rely on the old videos. Your kutti stories will definitely reach out to millions and many more. Please stay connected and keep giving us more to enjoy this game wherein you were the undisputed wizard with the ball. Hail 537

Hats off Harsha, for a person who has never played a ball of professional cricket to deliver sermons on cricketers is indeed a freak of nature. Live your moment.😅
Ashwin Retires from International Cricket! Did not see that coming! One of the greatest of all time, possesses an outstanding cricketing brain. Was not a real fan of him when he started but the way he had evolved was awesomely inspiring. I think in India bowlers dont get the praise they deserve. The way he plotted against Smith over and time again was just stunning to say the least. Looking forward to seeing him in his brilliant podcasts of Kutty stories. Ravi Ashwin, A legend!
Harsha, this tribute you’ve put out is akin to the commentary on Sachin’s last lap in Mumbai 2013 post his retirement. Unfortunate that Ash never got this on the field like he truly deserved, but your words elevate his legacy as it always should be. thanks very much Harsha!
Harsha, hats off to you. Love your way of expressing on game of cricket always. Today, your way of putting Ashwin's retirement, great. Best of luck Ash for your second innings of life.
Great tribute Harsha . I loved the competitiveness of Ashwin at the same time being civil to his opponent. Lover of the sport always learning his craft may not have had the talent of a saqlain or flair of a Warne but the thinking bowler he was put in the hard work and stayed the course . There is talent and there is grit, grit will always triumph over talent . I liked the last line an ornament to the sport .
This is why Harsha is loved, and the others are merely liked, or merely appreciated, or merely tolerated. Harsha is so straigjtforward, genuine and respectful and the love he has for Indian cricket and cricketers is always bright and shining. Many podcasters in other countries will doubtless have some snark, and some shade for Ashwin. He really got under some of the Aussie guys' skins. Ashwin was a brilliant spinner and will be a legend of Indian cricket. His last moments in the India-Pak T20, bringing for us one of India's greatest victories, will never be forgotten.
Brilliant tribute Harsha. You got everything together so nicely. And I do agree with you the moment that you said will stick out with the bat… well done Ashwin. Take a break and enjoy the moment.
Ashwin's just getting started. He's got much more to offer cricket in several different capacities. Looking forward to seeing him as a coach and a commentator.
Not just his bowling..his batting also saved our faces many times..his innings in Sydney and Mirpur definitely going to stay forever with all test game lovers❤❤

Very good tribute to a great cricketer sir. I have a feeling that a few captions and managers were biased against him and did not pick him to play in many matches. He did get his due. He should have got another 50 to 100 wickets more.
Ashwin will be missed and it's emotional for all Indians. But,you shouldn't leave like that.We would have grand send-off at the SCG for our legend when no more cricket would be there.Team India would have celebrated you like anything with the trophy.👏👏👏
my entire club and u-17 selection was because some senior pro noticed my Ashwin like action. i played more than 30 matches did well in some , traveled across state all because someone would tell some other clubs hey watchout! he is their mystery spinner. Love and Gratitude to Ashwin 🥲
Let's be honest, all of us atleast tried ashwin s bowling action once. And the happiness imagining it as doosara and carrom ball with rubber ball.
