@erbeeflower I have brought 2 brand new Dowdeswell Gems in the past, which were fitted with the Ruggerini engine and owned 2 second hand machines with a Hatz diesel engine. The Hatz engine is probably more refined than the Ruggerini and works better at low revs, the diesel engined models are definitely much better matched than the petrol models!
+jones6620 I have never heard of this before, did you put the Morris engine on yourself? Do you have any videos or photographs, it would be great to see!

Mine is a 30" Gem with Howard's own engine.
An 810cc twin cylinder gas motor.
1st gear is way too fast.
Might be okay in loose sandy soil.
