    Hi Hal, i was wondering if you heard about the 16 year old girl from Australia, who was recently killed by a shark 🦈 when she decided to swim with a Pod of 🐬 dolphins? And witnesses said the only one who tried to save her life, was her Boyfriend who fearlessly fought off the shark, and he freed her from the Jaws of the shark! but unfortunately she bled out by the time he got her to shore. Anyway I just wanted to say you do a great job describing these shark attacks, if it was up to me, I would hire you to be a host for a shark happens on the discovery channel! God bless brother!

    I'm always amazed when I hear how an individual, whether they be a friend, family member or a complete stranger, has witnessed a shark attack and will then proceed to swim to the victim in order to try to help - all while knowing they are putting themselves in the same exact danger and the potential for an attack as they had just witnessed moments before. I'd really like to believe that I would have enough courage to do the same, especially if it were a loved one that I had just seen getting attacked... but, I honestly don't know if I could do it. I think witnessing something like that happening would probably freeze me in place, too terrified and shocked to act 😔

      In Aussie you are trained/taught to go and rescue shark attack victims if they are still alive - in fact from 13yrs old it would be considered pretty cowardly n shameful if yo didn't - which is why many survive... only one or two rescuers have ever been injured. Different story if its a body... like Nellis unfortunately, he was already dead and as we are taught, bodies attract sharks. Ive jumped in sharky waters to rescue drowning people - but the only sharks ive ever actually punched/poked were ones that come too close spearfishing

    Btw, I think it’s a disgrace that Simon Nellis’s death has been recorded as ‘provoked’ because of nearby fisherman.
    Again for Simon’s family & friends it’s a cruel blow somehow blaming Simon for being there. And a nasty blow to the already traumatised fishermen who witnessed it!

      I have visions of the great white thinking ffs what does a shark have to do for these clowns to think we can be dangerous , they think everything on land can be dangerous but no step in the water people and your fine.. Absolutely no respect for a shark and I wish I was a real predator like a crock... 🤔

    • @toscadonna
      @toscadonna ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That shark was simply very hungry and waiting for something tasty to swim across the big drop off where she was lying in wait. There’s no way the fishermen who were that far away had anything to do with that type of attack. That’s an attack for a mammal-not a fish on a line.

    My wife found a lot of black shark teeth in Florida, expect they were fossils. They were dime to penny size and coal black.

    Hal, using yourself for scale, can you give us a ballpark, educated guess as to about how long the Great White in your studio background would be if it were really right behind you, as it appears? When you speak of GWs that exceed 4 or 5 meters I find it very difficult to imagine the incredible mass or girth of the animals.

    • @annabizaro-doo-dah
      @annabizaro-doo-dah ปีที่แล้ว

      They get a big girth at 5 meters I know the big ones have been described as 2 meters girth which is huge.

    I'm still trying to figure out how the first two guys managed to sink their own boat. You just pull the anchor in, you know?

      Very easily if the anchor was stuck and they pulled the bow under. A 10-11ft is too small to be that far off shore.

      Probably had that setup to drive over it to lift it and it didnt pull it is what i am thinkin
