You both are amazing! Very incredible that Chloe plays so beautifully at only age six! You are an awesome family, and the younger ones are fortunate to have lessons from the older accomplished musician siblings!

When we found a teacher that - his first comment was to say that he had forgotten how musical children are naturally.,He had taught music to teachers at college and played in many fine orchestras here in UK. Suzuki didn’t suit my children . My grandfather played the piano totally by ear and my children were following suit but we were advised not to let them hear pieces before they tried to read the notes on paper. No strips on instruments to show where notes were either. You are a great teacher. My eldest son loved the viola when he first heard it . We were on holiday in Czech rep and be bought one with his holiday money ! Youngest son married a viola player ! Why are viola players butt of many jokes ? You a a wonderful young lady !

This is helpful in explaining how the younger children learn to play by ear. Thank you.

Great to see that you take your time to teach her. My little one would get upset if I interrupted his playing so often though. Chloe is so patient with her teacher! :)

Wow, well done to both of you! Chloe's playing is actually quite impressive for her age. It's very hard to teach little kids but you're doing a great job, Pearl. 👍 By the way, viola is a really underrated instrument so it's nice to see someone playing it seriously as you are. I don't understand why it's not more popular, it has such a beautiful sound!

Wow. It’s interesting. I clicked on this video cause if I have to work with a children some time, and I’m just wondering how to talk with them. And while I’m reading comments I understood, my whole life I was studying (and still) by a Suzuki method. It’s always easier for me learn something by ear. It was always like this. Even now. I’m learning conus concerto, and I’m listening this a lot, and in score I just have to see fingers and bow.

So very sweet! Patient teacher! ❤️ Perfect student! ❤️ We also noticed that the band-aid on Chloe's chin is missing. 😁 Hurray! Thank you for sharing! You are making a wonderful investment in your sibling students, dear Pearl. Great job, Chloe! Praying for all of you every day. "Train up a child" (Proverbs 22:6). There is more than musical training going on here. ❤️

It was a bit cold. I think it’s just a lot different from what she’s used to in San Diego
