boothill is 100% easier to build than topaz. the only stats that you need are break and spd. if you are not a new player you will probably have a ton of pieces that have break effect subs lying around which you can just slap on to him. his lightcone is a huge bonus, but boothill is also the only dps in the game where you can go lightconeless and still perform decently in endgame content. he also has physical weakness implant so he is basically cover any element in moc or single target content.
Not to mention all of us probably already have dps pieces with lots of crit and break effect already from all the pices we wanted for our regular dps
I am not too sure about that. The new set that releases next patch is going to be by far the best for him, so new players will have to farm that and get pieces that dont work on 95% of the characters. While the FuA domain and the pioneer one (for Ratio) are some of the most efficient ones to farm on.
At the same time, while Boothill will probably perform well in a MoC adjusted around him, I feel like the fact that he needs to break the enemies to deal damage will make him probably way slower than other DPS. Like imagine if you have to fight a boss and 3 mobs that are not weak to physical. Implanting the weakness on each one of them would take forever

Also it doesn't matter because if you kill the boss or whatever summons them those mobs all die instantly

@@NiaTheMilkTank They have been buffing enemies health steadily, so much that it is harder now for Seele to proc resurgance. So, considering his damage to unbroken enemies will probably be relatively low, waiting for him to get the ult to implant the weakness is going to be very slow. Still, he is going to be really good for the new mode and break-oriented MoCs
Edit: also not all mobs are spawned from other bosses, i think that in this MoC12 there were like 2 elites and 2 normal mobs in the first wave of the second half.
@@whiteglint8191 Yeah he would be slower but not like the conventional dps since he does in fact have high break effect stats making it faster for him to break toughness and get to his prime. I do find it that he might be weaker for enemies with multiple layers of toughness bar like the new weekly boss and would definitely make his damage uptime slower but as long as you have him in a team with high BE stats, i think he'll perform just fine.
I think if you already have the ipc fua team, and a broken follow-up unit releases, ur going to replace ratio instead of topaz if you’re gonna make changes to the team, ratio is free but topaz scales everyone in that team so well. Ratio just does dmg, and if a better dps comes its clear who you switch
agreed a LOT, their has to be another DPS being stronger than ratio, for FUA i think topaz is one of the best units not going to get replaced, its just so niche a sub dps for fua

Ye, and the cool thing abt it is that ratio can also work as a main dps for a hypercarry team (tho he wants to have a teammate that can apply debuffs for him)

Maybe at some point, or the new character "replaces" him as a follow up main damage dealer in a more side grade fashion
I doubt it because Dr ratio does DMG very consistently and it's easy to proc his follow up attacks. Second , he is strong enough to be played in a hyper carry team . I think numby gonna be replaced first in that sense. She is useless without ratio . She will become even more useless if the new dps does not require a debuff like Dr ratio.
@Thivesh_ well my point was ratio is only damage. If we get a better dmg dealer follow up unit, then he gets replaced cause topaz can still provide support to whatever unit replaces ratio.
Topaz is made for Aventurine. Even her basic attacks count as follow-ups, so she's a good driver for his own abilities.
They pretty much help each other in a loop. Topaz follow ups give Aventurine stacks to trigger his follow up and his follow ups advance numby in return. If we add another unit to the team with this feedback loop then it will push their synergy up even further.
Probably a unit (called X for simplicity) w/a mix of Jade/Kafka kit (her and Bronya's fua). They mark an ally similarly to Jade and everytime that unit takes an action, the unit (X) performs a follow-up to the targeted enemy, if that unit doesnt use a skill that targets an enemy, X's AV is advanced by 20% (basic atk is considered a FUA similar to Topaz). If the marked ally uses an AOE skill, X launches a FUA on a random enemy, possibly bouncing to another. Feels like could work unless you get crippled by CC, which Robin is for
Traces could be like some extra energy at start of battle/wave/turn, Some utility possible proc effect on crit/fua via skill, Extra stats maybe a snowball effect that scales off number of FUA dealt
LC could just be a stat stick, w some unique buff/debuff (similar to Aether Code/Erode/Epiphany/Mirage Bubble)

boothill is definitely a lot easier to build than topaz. no, you don't need to build crit or atk for him at all beyond a crit body piece. he already gets 30% cr and 150% cd from just getting him to 300% break effect. trying to balance all his stats is a complete waste for him, just focus on speed and break effect alone and he'll do more than enough for you. i think you're overestimating the value of atk/crit on him, he breaks weakness incredibly fast with his phys weakness implant anyway so you don't really need to worry about his damage before he weakness breaks

Hoping for a boothill vs firefly comparison as I think that's more relevant to most people when pulling for that specific role. From what I've heard they share a lot of similarities so a comparison is a lot more relevant

I almost think Hoyo was playing 4D chess when they gave Ratio away for free, because now it seems like everyone thinks you "need" luxury pulls like Topaz S1 and E1, Aventurine S1, E2, etc to make followup teams work. When in reality, Ratio is the outlier, and E0S0 Topaz is cracked for literally any other followup unit. For example, my most common pairings with her are Himeko, Kafka, and Clara.
And frankly, every member of the limited 5* followup team before Robin's release (Aventurine, Ruan Mei, Topaz, Ratio) has at least one debuff in their base kit. So if you start the fight with Ratio's technique, when you include breaks (which are very easy to get with this team) his rotations are gonna be fairly smooth even with all units at E0S0. And even swapping RM for Robin will still probably be fine.
Ratio is the most likely to be replaced. You don’t play topaz bc she’s a dps but because she’s a sub dps. Her effective energy is 100 and she has the massive vuln buff. In addition she procs a ton of fua which is good for aven’s shield and robin’s ult.
Topaz is the second to be replaced. Whoever takes her spot needs to have buffing capabilities, and for ratio it must be a debuff. So either vuln or defense shred. A defense shred one would probably be straight up powercreep.

Im considering boothill, i think he will also be pretty good in the boss based game mode we're getting, being able to ignore base weaknesses.
Do i build xueyi or jingliu? Btw i don't have bronya or sparkle or an abondance 5* i have adventurine and I'm planing to get fu xuan next banner. Like can xueyi do well even against non quantum weak bosses
i built JIngliu, but i'm currently building Xueyi for my HMC and boothill
If leaks are true and Firefly is a fire breakeffect dps that implants fire weakness. Then she kinda fits into this conversation, is it better to just wait and pull her. She is a fire dps like Topaz and scales with breakeffect and has a self type weakness implant like Boothill.
For a brand new account I kinda think boothill is a better pickup mostly just because of the weakness implant

HOLY BABY. I'm definitely not skipping him. That physical implant just removes the need for a fire character in a team in the first place, if you ever need one. I do have RM and I am so happy that I didn't skipped her (lol imagine skipping RM).
Also, if they put RM on the same banner with Firefly I'm gonna LMAO.
thats soo true... i really need a fire dps carry and i only have himeko shes e3 and shit but i dont like her at all.... my plan was to pull topaz... one because i really like her and i love fua, but the fua chars that i love is JY and clara, and their best teams dont even use topaz, i dont have aventurine either... soo i changed my plans to get firefly... but after the gameplay leaks.. i find her really undewhelming on the animations department... i know she will be a monster dps... but omg the boothill animations are sooo fking awsome... that im sold.. have to get him now.. sorry firefly
One thing to mention is that if people have e0topaz you should invest for e1s1 because topaz makes Dr.ratio a beast. Basically investing in Topaz means you invest for Dr.ratio
Definitely the situation I’m in. Do I invest in break? Or Follow-Up teams? I was originally FU, but I legit can’t stand Robin’s ult/her song. And well Numby… creeps me out 😅. I think I’ll reserve my FUs for Pure Fiction with Herta, maybe Jade cause I like the characters more.

Will be him cause he is the most interesting character on the game. Fun personality, well written, broken...he is amazing
as a new-ish player who got Aventurine + free Ratio. Robin and Topaz complete the team, expensive team but fun. I wasn't willing to wait months skipping all characters. But it's a shame because I'm probably going to have to skip all Break teams too and wait for the Acheron support in 2.4 and just focus on two teams.

I love this channel because while every other creator might go the generic route of Aventurine vs. Fuxuan and do that conversation to death (which yes it has been addressed here too), this is an actual interesting debate. What should newer players invest in? Break vs. FuAs? If you ask me, Break is by far the easiest to build. Getting over 200% Break is easy with the Watchmaker set on one character. And if I was a beginner at this game, I'd immediately pick up Robin, Boothill, HTB, and Ruan Mei upon a rerun. You will shred through the early game like butter. Lol
Topaz is not a bad unit at all and her support has grown over the game's lifecycle BUT her team is more expensive in terms of pulls, time and investment. However, my God is FuA so broken. You take so many turns and I don't think people realize how integral Numby is to activating more FuAs. Even Jade's leaked kit I argue isn't as consistent as Topaz with Numby for Ratio.

I just pulled for Topaz and her lightcone since I pulled Jingliu on her last banner and im honestly impressed with her and my only team for her is Clara, Topaz, ruan Mei and sparkle/sustain she hits pretty decent single target damage and very frequently while also buffing Clara, Ratio or any other fua dps this makes her very versatile in the long run I don’t think she’s the weakest link at all that would probably be ratio since he was free they’re probably going to release a better fua dps soon I’m not sure what jade does though she could be another topaz
ngl I just got topaz for her technique + she's all about follow ups, she is fire and she's hunt (ST)
I doubt Galaxy Rangers have a team comp theme since they go on through own journeys. IPC is strongly focused on FUA and that’s been made clear

if you use her on a team with Ruan Mei and harmony MC the enemies will be not be able to attack as much so her counter is useless, so basically only her skill/basic attack will be useful most of the time since her ult doesn't deal damage. (That is is you break enemies quickly.) It feels very wrong for her kit's whole purpose but you can do whatever you want.
she is not for break team, more on her own since she is strong with high attack frequency enemy but break team pretty much require you to knock down the shield as fast as possible, Clara is a very slow unit and not suitable for breaking.

13:51 I don't know about this, but I think if we get a new FUA dps, they would compete with ratio not topaz. If they are a different element, they would likely not power creep either of them, but be an alternative for elemental coverage.
i'm not that sure, that Topaz will be the first unit to replace in FUA teams. It can be Dr.Ratio. But yeah, Robin is kinda replacement for Topaz for sure, as she doesn't need to match enemy weakness that much.

For Single Target, yes. But vs Two to three enemies, Firefly can kill them at the same time. Their damage numbers is close with Boothill having an advantage but on single target.

I had a better dream where in I saw a crit build FF perform better and more consistently even after break which actually solidify how bad her break scaling is for what she currently offers.

Sadly, topaz won't work functionally good without S1 or E1 in Fua team with Ratio. Maybe we can just replace Ratio with another fua dps, but im not that hooked to jade or patient enough for another fua dps. So the motherfudger is the better option Imo
by herself? no, she wont. silver wolf and pela are better.
But in full team of aventurine, ratio, robin, topaz? that's way different story, both for aventurine and robin benefitting from topaz FUAs, not only ratio.
jade doesnt work with ratio at all, she is to erudition as topaz is to fua.

Got Topaz's E1 because seeing what I saw about Firefly made me wanna skip her. Gonna go for E0S1 Boothill after I got Topaz's E1 and then I will Skip Firefly no matter what.

I don't agree with Topaz being the unit that will be replaced more easily in the future. Ratio will probably always be the best FuA team member for Single Target Imaginary, but I think new Hunt FuA attackers will likely replace Ratio, while Topaz will stay as a sub-dps / support. Especially if the new hunt units somehow have an ever higher FuA frequency than Ratio, since that would push up numby even more. The fact that she can work also by just spamming basic attacks makes her also flexible for being used with especially SP hungry units.

Man this game trolled me. I lost Acheron's 50/50, so I wanted to get Boot or Firefly, saw Boot's 4 stars suck, and thought it would be a good idea to build some pity on Robin to get 4 star eidolons, and got her in like 20-30 pulls which I really did not want. Of course now it reset my pity again and screwed up pulling for someone I did want 🙂
Never pull for 4 stars, learned this the hard way, only pull if you want the 5 star on the banner, also there's a showcase of Boothill E0 and no lightcone, not even a 3 star one, and he still did really good damage

I watched your Xueyi video and thought: You know what? I'm going to pull for her Eidolons...
I ended up with E6 March, E6 Hanya, E1 Robin, and yes... not a single Xueyi Eidolons... What the actual f....
I got 2 Xueyis from approximately 170 pulls for Topaz (I lost the 50/50) but woohoo! I got a whole 13 Hanya eidolons. (So my Xueyi is now at E1)
Don't agree that topaz is the weakest link in fua teams. Her synergy with aventurine is too strong.the damage I get from topaz and aventurine far outweighs what I can get from Dr ratio. I know they cannot compete in terms of the highest number but their attack frequency is sooo high that it doesn't matter. She is also a skill point generator when needed or you can use skill point negative and basically double her damage.
Agree, I feel Ratio is more vulnerable to be swapped out for other FUA units, since Topaz can still be as a semi support and sub DPS even without Ratio, and like you said, she can be used to restore SP if needed and it's fine because you can push Numby up for damage. Plus she does work in PF AND MoC, so I think she's still a good character to go for, especially for newer players who managed to get Ratio for free, and having Aventurine on top of it.

Ratio definitely is the weakest link since from his passive he asks a lot from the team while giving little, only damage and FUA triggers which other future FUA characters can also Provide.
If we can get a Blast Ratio, or maybe a Front loaded damage Clara, Ratio would get replaced in no time.
His role is truly that of a hypercarry more than being part of the core FUA.
Guys have you tried swapping JingYuan in for Ratio? I was just messing around for a lightning weak enemy but apparently the Topaz-Aventurine debuff cocktail and SP generation + Robin buffs and advance forward maximises his damage for boss targets.
I am terrified of his damage numbers now. Topaz’s ability to make FUA stronger is FRIGHTENING.
@@DailyStruggles-pg9js Yes, you can switch Ratio with any other FUA damage dealer. Depending on the weakness of the enemy, you can alternate them as you need them to be :>.

I started the game 30 minutes after the servers went down to get rid of the free Dr Ratio 😂 but I still have a decent team for topaz with Topaz Robin Clara and Lynx
Boothill is part of new brake meta. Probably there will be replacement in future. When it comes to follow up attack Topaz is queen that will not be toppled. Her attack, skill and numby are follow up attacks. She is at same time main dps and support. IMO Topaz is safe pick. At end you should pick char you like more. :)
just mere same element alternatives doesn't mean anything imo (bh with arg lk ss). it rarely matters in endgame, so that section is pretty irrelevant. please focus more on their endgame performance, thanks.

I don't agree with your Topaz take, replace Topaz? My guy Topaz enables all the the FUA units she's basically the exclusive Nihility disguised as a Hunt debuffer for FUA. Ratio on the other hand is just a DPS unit that does FUA in future if a stronger DPS FUA comes around more than likely Ratio will get replaced over Topaz.

just be wary though, rerun leaks are often inconsistent among all the other accurate ones. We'll find out during boothills banner anyway, so it's still a W for those who dont care about topaz and are set on getting him
Banner data has not been included in beta files since 1.6. So all rerun "leaks" are just guesses.
I have a feeling that a lot of players will be underestimating Super Break teams, just like how so many are sleelping on Boothill & Firefly. With the addition of that dinosaur mob in MoC i believe 'brute forcing' content will be much harder to do & that crit focused dps units will have a tougher time clearing content. Mihoyo is up to something with this Super Break mechanic going forward.

Unfortunately hmc is not the best support for boothill because a character like bronya is just more efficient for him.
I think Topaz wins this. Boothill is without a doubt a main dps as for topaz... I don't know why people force her as a main dps. her kit is that of a sub dps/ support. and in a game like HSR, main dps units tend to get power crept faster. BUUUUUUUUUUT this argument of mine gets invalidated if you don't play FUA teams at all. and in such case, boothill definitely wins
Boothill, Not even a question. I'm felling sorry for topaz, her banner always paired together with heavy hitter (Jingliu, Robin, Boothil) hopefully her next rerun won't be as bad

From a perspective of a new player, Topaz does not seem to offer much compared to the other units in this version.
For FuA teams Robin will be a cheaper (easy relics, f2p lc, works well at e0) and more universal option. For damage, Boothill will likely be a better choice, mostly due to him being able to add physical weakness to enemies - a new player will be able to pair him with HMC, Gallagher and eventually Bronya (300 warps in the worst case) and make a team that can be used in almost all future content. Finally there is FuXuan, who in my opinion will also have more value for a new account than Topaz.

From another new player who started from Aventurine banner id say my aventurine ratio topaz robin team havent lost a battle yet and ive already cleared world 9 this team honestly feels like a cheat code

@@varanisshouyou4379 I think that's mainly due to Aventurine - I was able to clear most of the SU thanks to him, even with some weird paths and blessings :)
I'm running a similar team in MoC, but with Pela instead of Topaz and I've been having a good time, too. I'm usually struggling with the second side, and that's why I'm aiming to grab either Boothill or Firefly next.

The better investment is Boothill because you literally ONLY need Harmony TB and she's free but Topaz needs a good FuA DPS and they aren't free, remember Dr.Ratio isn't free anymore.
You can clear all content with both but boothil is the highest single target dps (in my dreams) so much so he'll clear anything and I do mean anything since he Implants Physical
He is the hypercarry dream actually able to go into any content regardless of weaknesses

I saw some comment about Topaz is the weakest link and I also disagree that Topaz is the weakest link.
What I want to add is as Topaz has easy access to follow up, Topaz is the easiest to enable Elation in SU, and soon Divergent Universe. Ratio need debuff, Aventurine need to be hit, same with Clara and Blade.
I do agree that Topaz is kinda high investment, but it is worth it if you into follow up. Topaz E1 or S1 will enable Ratio.
Without Topaz, Ratio isnt really any good.
Add in a Robin and they all do tons of damage together.

@@bepo1702 Hypercarry Ratio is not good ANYMORE. I stand by what I said. 4 star characters can outperform him now with the hyperbreak mechanic. He doesnt do much damage and sucks against multiple enemies. In order for him to to keep up he needs a sub-dps. That is why Hoyo released Topaz & Aventurine. To help him out and form the IPC team. Robin is also incredible for this team but she works well with any FUA team.

unpopular opinion all 1.0-1.13 (kafka blade loucha silver wolf seele and king yuan) should be added to the standard banner and hoyo should make a new 300 pity system for them just like how they did it before but now they should add in all characters from 1.0-1.3 since most arent worth summoing for, like seele and king yuan and we dont need to have reruns for them anymore!

Better get Firefly than Topaz if you want Fire element. Firefly applies Fire Weakness so matching element will be never a problem. Firefly also hits three enemies at a time. Firefly is also easy to build with Break Effect and Speed and her best support HMC is a free OP character for Super Break damage. Boothill also applies Physical Damage so he is also good to pull. He is also a break dps character. Both Boothill and Firefly deals tons of damage.
Don't try sell her so hard not everyone likes robot, this why ppl will pick Topaz over her

I didn’t think I needed Topaz but fell for the allure of the RRAT team since I was adamant on getting Aventurine and Robin was badly needed for a limited 5 star harmony (missed Ruan Mei and Sparkle). Was pleasantly surprised by how great the FUA team was and then found myself terrified by how a half-built E0S1 Topaz, half-built Robin, and half-built E2S1 Aventurine buffed my JingYuan better than my usual team. I have never seen a boss have their HP bar shredded so quickly outside of simulated universe. I admit that my relics suck but like, how was the difference so huge compared to Luocha, Bronya, and Tingyun?!
For the meantime, I think I will focus on refining my FUA team comps since I’m missing quite a lot of pieces for break teams (bro I don’t even have Gallagher nor any break effect gear to throw on DPS). Meanwhile, Aventurine is my staple sustain now so I will always need at least Robin, Ratio, or Topaz to make the most of him.
Even after getting Firefly for a Fire DPS, I think I can still make use of Topaz because of her place in Aventurine teams. Topaz might even function as a good support for Firefly because of her debuffs, and I can slap on a Penacony set for extra kicks. Like seriously, Ratio is the most replaceable in the RRAT team, everyone else is a cracked support that also does considerable damage by their own right.

tow complete different unit, Topaz's pig move very fast, especially combo with Robin, boothill on the other hand, is a very slow nuke unit. topaz is an very important part of follow up team, she will always be the 2nd dps and buffer of follow up team, first DPS can be replaced with any other unit base on the situation. boothill's role on break team is the shield breaker and first dps, his number is very good, but his short coming is also very visible, he is single target, and break team require shield breaking, so there are certain boss fight he will be struggle. while break team is easy to build, but also have issue that the amount of buff that helps break team is very limited, crit/crit demage and demage deal buff are pretty useless for break team, so as good as ruanmei is, her damage buff is not helping the break team at all. follow up team do not have as much limitation as break team. i would say Topaz is more valuable compare to boothill, especially Jade is going to help out follow up team to transform into IPC team.
Doesnt make sense what he says about Topaz. If they release a character like Topaz, just run the new character and Topaz together for near infinite FuA.
If anything, Ratio is being replaced in the premium FuA team for a FuA character that has a blast and higher attack frequency - not to mention Ratio debuff requirements are a pain in the ass.

No, Ratio will be replaced first. Topaz buffs the type of attack, she's not leaving that team lol.
Topaz is: SP positive, highest frequency attacker, procs other follow-up attacks the best, deals damage and supports FuA damage.
Ratio deals more damage, but he's gimmicky. That's why China doesn't play him as much as they play Topaz. He'll be the first to get the boot.
I think Topaz is pretty much completed. Meaning she's already got her best team. If you want to play that team, you go for Topaz.
It's very unlikely that she is gonna get more future buff through new characters.
Saying that is implying that they will never release another character with follow up attacks lol. Whenever a new FUA DPS or in general FUA unit will release she will get a "buff". Being a support allows the character to be relevant for pretty much the rest of the game. Unless they delete the concept of FUA she will always have a place in top tier teams

@@YumiSumire Here's a funny thing about supports, they get buffed by the game whenever a DPS that fits their specific niche gets released, just my opinioni but FUA damage increase seems to work pretty damn well with characters that have FUA's in their kit (and Jade will be a FUA)
