For those who haven't realized this a remix of Jin's theme and it says a lot cause it's sadder yet more furious befitting of a battle theme perfectly portraying how he feels toward Ryuzo.
The first fight with Ryuzo hurt a lot and made it feel like the end of one of those amazing old samurai movies of old. The second fight was confirmation of the path both had taken. Ryuzo was a traitor who lost everyone he tried to protect (his fellow Straw hats) while Jin became the Ghost, truest protector of Tsushima, no one will stand in his way, be it the samurai and their code or be it his best childhood friend!
Jin sakai murdered and killed hoards of men. Mongols yes, Invaders yes but still men. Yet he protected his home better than the sogunate ever did. He cared for the people and stood up for them in a way lord simura and the other sogunate loyalists never could of had. He broke his code, but he forged a new one. Jin has no honour like that of a samurai, yet still he was true to his own code of honour: "What does honour mean to you?" "I guess... protecting People...The ones that cannot protect themselves..." Jin is the ghost , the hero of Tsushima.
A man who sacrifices his soul, i.e. his code, his ethics his relationships with friends and family for the greater good of his home and his people. It's so heroic and selfless, he doesn't care about his honor or rather Shimura's concept of Honor, but his own view of it; protecting those who can't. It's another "do the end's justify the means?" theme, "are we no better than those who treat us like animals?" it was war, the weak die and the strong survive.

Exactly, Jin is The Ghost. This is why it annoys me when fans want a new protagonist in the sequel or want The Ghost to be some sort of mantle. Irl, the Mongol fleet got destroyed by a typhoon. In the game, the typhoon is personified in the form of Jin, hence why The Ghost is always associated with storms. It just wouldn’t work if The Ghost becomes a “mantle” or if we have a new protagonist
playing this game felt like watching a really good, long running tv show from my childhood. Felt like each day I played i was tuning in to watch Jin fight the mongols and struggle with his honer. From the title cards for each mission to the cenimatic nature. Right down to the cast of characters, I had an experience with this game that not only showed me the future of gaming, but also brought me back to a time in my life where i was alot more joyful and had things to look forward too. And when it ended i felt sad. But that first playthrough will stick with me cause it left a huge impact on my life.

Jin changed to save tsushima - While Ryuzo change to take care of his men and himself - So as sad as it were to kill ryuzo - he honestly had it coming the minute he burnt an innocent civilian(Alive) to feed his men :/ (Which an amazingly emotional cinematic ) So personally Ryuzo was clearly on the wrong side - Just my personally opinion :3

I love it when developers do this;like the last agni kai in Atla, this theme is not heroic in a good vs evil kind of way,rather it is tragic.This was a fight that was never meant to happen.

Can anyone explain how Ryuzo was struggling to find food for his men when we can literally find places that actually help you like the golden temple for food or just hunt for it? We've found deers, boars, and even a fuckin bear?
He only wanted quality food. Sake and other luxury foods were a necessity for him. He was just jealous of Jin because he beat Ryuzo, thus joined the Mongols to take Jin's heas. That's also why he asked him to join the Mongols, so he can forget about the duel
This game was a masterpiece. I can’t believe the last of us 2 won GOTY over this. The amount of detail that went into it was by far the best I’ve seen in a while. It’s literally a samurai version of RDR2.

@@TypicalIndian1981 You're really antagonizing Ryuzo as if he's the villain. But you fail to realize that he's not. His jealousy of Jin was only a secondary reason, he did indeed want to feed his Straw Hat men and keep them safe and healthy. If he didn't, he wouldn't have killed his own people. He wouldn't have burned his own people. He wouldn't have let the Khan inside Castle Shimura, instead he would seek to take the Castle of his own if spite was the reason. The reason was in fact feeding his men, and his jealousy of Jin just fueled that anger inside him and led him to betray his country.
Jin may have betrayed his uncle and everything he stood for but ultimately it was worth it. He was able to protect his people and not be held down by honour and hypocrisy. Jin is one of my favourite characters ever because of his unshakeable willpower and love for nature.
My reaction when i saw Ryuzo at the castle: "Cmon man, Don't do this to me! I can help u, we are LITERALLY about to rescue MY uncle!" *me fighting Ryuzo* "Dude, please just stop!! I don't want to kill u man! Bro please!! ;-;"
If Ryuzo wasn’t selfish, Jin would’ve helped him. At first he wanted to become a samurai, than later changes his mind. Because of what happened to the samurai at the beach. And betraying his homeland. It is no wonder Jin got tired of it, and decided to finish him off.
Well instead of killing Jin when he had the chance, he convinced the Khan to make a parley with Jin. Maybe telling the Khan that Jin would be less resilient than his uncle. I feel like Ryuzo felt more guilt to what he did before he dies. Because in the first duel, when you fail, he kills you. But during the second duel, just like Shimura, he can't bring himself to end you, and says that he's sorry.

Something I realized rewatching the duel, Jin really did give Ryuzo an honorable death despite all the turmoil. He gave him the same warrior's death like that of Shimura. He held him by the shoulder, looked at him in the eyes and stabbed him in the stomach. So Ryuzo in a way lived out of dream of being a samurai.
I certainly expected the straw hats to change sides if the price was right, but at the point where ryuzo first duels with you, it was a bit of a surprise for me considering I'd run through the quests with him just before.

Okay? It’s meant to be a “love letter to Kurosawa films”. They wanted it to focus on being cinematic rather than realistic, while still making it feel grounded. It’s not a documentary.
It's literally a game about one samurai defeating a mongol fleet. In real life that same fleet waa destroyed by a storm as it reached mainland Japan. So of course it's not accurate, it doesn't want to be.

It’s meant to be a “love letter to Kurosawa films”. They wanted it to focus on being cinematic rather than realistic, while still making it feel grounded.
It’s not a documentary.
It's literally a game about one samurai defeating a mongol fleet. In real life that same fleet waa destroyed by a storm as it reached mainland Japan. So of course it's not accurate, it doesn't want to be.

That's cool and all but last time I checked the game isn't supposed to be realistic but more of a callback to the samurai films of old.

It is the second variant of the Ghost Armor.
1 month later but upgrade the ghost armor past lvl one and it looks badass. Full level ghost armor is best looking armor in game imo
Both of them gave up everything, to do what's in their powers for their people.
