I have huge respect for the polish people that took part in the uprising. They knew they were probably gonna die, they knew they are probably going to fail and be overwhelmed, but they did it anyway. They bet everything on one card, that the Wehrmacht would be busy fighting the Soviets and thus make it easier to take over the city and they failed, yet every single person, both the people who died and the people who survived can be considered heroes for standing up for their country and for being willing to let their lives for a better future.
Also worth mentioning: the actor portraying the German officer is named Peter Stormare, a well known Swedish actor :)

The russians closing in on Warsaw knew that those polish people dying fighting the germans were the same people that would fight the russian control of Poland after the war, so they happily stood just outside of Warsaw, watching their two enemies killing eachother...

They let Germans burn home after home by waiting. They just waited for Warsaw collapse.

Who let this kiddo talk?! Soviet soldiers didn't siege Warsaw only because of supply chain issues, soviet units were just really fast to keep supply chains normally
@@VitalikZ-yz5qw Stalin did give a order to wait. Possibly because of supplies, mabye Because he wanted them to die so it would be easier. My opinion? It's a mixture of both
Many weddings were made during the Warsaw Uprising. People knew they could die soon. So they didn't wait. And unfortunately they died. Some survived the uprising. And others found each other years later.
Now do it live in Warsaw Poland. Its fucking incredible. And for the record the idea of the "dumb Pollok" to my knowledge comes from their shabbily built defenses in WWII. However in my opinion the amazing hand made machines built out of necessity proves not only Polish engineering, adaptability and the never say die spirit of the Polish people. 40 to 1.
Our defences were great, thats why Germans had to struggle so Long during battle of Wizna or Westerplatte. Only dumb thing we made was following western ideas of not provoking Hitler by mobilization of our army. Did it when it was too late. And then just hoped that France and Britan will hold their words and help. Not gonna mention backstabbing by the Soviet Union. So, yeah only dumb thing Poles did (and we do it still) is trusting that anyone will come and help us.

Sabaton's performance of this song and 40:1 (about the battle of Wisna) from Woodstock 2012 just can't be topped with the giant crowd of Polish people singing along

Seeing the crowd of 650 000 + overpower Sabaton is a once in a lifetime experience that you can re experience whenever.
During the uprising they captured a German Panther tank, named it Pudel. It is seen in World of Tanks for the Polish tech tree, which Sabaton occasionally works with.
I cannot recommend the live performances of "Uprising" and "40:1" in Poland enough!! The crowd is insane and Sabaton is one of those few bands that are almost better live :) The way Joakim connects with and rouses the crowd is just phenomenal!

Learning things like this makes you realize just how many of the people of the past had balls of steel compared to people of today.
Another Sabaton song about Poland history you might want to react to is "Inmate 4859." This is one of their much darker songs. It tells the story of Witold Pilecki (VEE-told pi-LES-kee), a Polish soldier who purposely got himself captured and incarcerated in Auschwitz during the Holocaust in order to infiltrate the brutal prison camp and bring outside attention to its inhumane nature. The Sabaton History episode behind this song is very graphic and not for the faint of heart.
This song was a such an ear worm when I went to Warszawa, the uprising museum really got me.
I’d recommend Sabaton “To Hell and Back” if ya haven’t done it already
Or possibly “Warriors of the World” by Manowar. A lot of their songs are epic. Sabaton covered their song “Kingdom Come”

As much as its A nice song. Its not even close to be good enough to be a national anthem. Only song that can replace current one is Rota.
The polish in ww2 knew they had no help at any point in that time period. The polish people take pride in this and in the 40:1 primary siege. Another great story brought from lost history by sabaton

In the first scenes of the music video, the German commander signed the order. For every German killed, 100 Poles are to be shot or hanged. Although executions of civilians have been greater. And where did the Germans take people to public executions? Usually, the army closed the streets and arrested everyone who was on the street and did not manage to escape. Men, women and children were imprisoned, immediately sent to concentration camps, and severely interrogated (torture) at the headquarters of the German Gestapo. Or they were killed right away

Compared to what the Soviets did to Polska, Nazi Germany was nothing.
It was something like 1 in 4 Poles died between 1939 and 1945. Thats 1 in 4 DEAD in 6 years. If the war happened anywhere it happened in Poland first and foremost
