    What's you favorite backpacks so far?

    • @miconn69
      @miconn69 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      So far its been my Gregory Zulu and Baltoro packs, but that has been just what I've used since upgrading from heavy mil-surplus packs. I'm sure my opinion will change as I experience more packs over time, but for now, the weight and comfort of the Gregory packs have been amazing! The Pathfinder Scout is on my list if I can ever catch it in stock.
      Thanks for your video content! I appreciate your gear reviews and suggestions.

      @miconn69 Gregory males great packs! The more you are able to test more pack the more you will be able to find the one or two lifetime packs for sure! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, truly appreciate! 🙏

    Wow I've been watching all of your videos and just see you only have 6k subs. The quality is insane. Please keep going! I'd love to see a video about a bugout bag. What would you have in your pack especially in europe where knife and axe laws are limited and annoying.

    • @AlexWander

      I've earnt 4000 subs in a month so I feel happy ! I just need to be more consinstent 🙏 thanks so much! I'm writing the script for a video about a realistic bugout bag .if something really happen I wouldn't care about laws so I will carry what's needed. thanks again for your support!

    Very well thought out and presented. Personally, after several years of trial and error, I stopped considering any kind of bag as a part of my EDC. Simply, because I didn't use the same bag every day and got tired of repacking things, forgot items, etc. My philosophy is that I wear the same model of semi-fitted, plain cargo pants (pretty much) every day. Every item I consider EDC sits in a designated pocket and stays there even when I take the pants off for the night. This way, I make sure that I have all important items on me in the morning or in case of an emergency at night. I rather use different bags for individual tasks which is why I don't consider them EDC. And one bag always sits in the trunk of my car, should I have to resupply myself with something. I'm really happy with several different Vaude models so far (low profile = greyman 😉).

    • @AlexWander
      @AlexWander  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definitely agree with your thoughts a page or pack for me becomes part of my EdC that stays in my pockets like you do only I have have tasks that brings me to have one . Our pockets will always be the best place for our EDC gear 👊🏻

    I use a Soviet veshmeshok. It’s light on its own. Has exterior side straps to attach stuff to. It’s not fancy at all. Has no zippers that can break very tough. As a bonus it can hold water in a pinch. I use a messenger bag with it for my immediate needs.

    Great video! I also noticed you used the pathfinder cooking stove/grill upside down in that bit of footage. Is there a reason for that ie, so you can move it around if you need to, or for more stability as it would have feet and a flat surface area at the bottom (top haha)?

    • @AlexWander
      @AlexWander  19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thank you! I actually didn't use it upside down, there are two kinda handles inside to support the main pan and the holes need to stay on the bottom to let the air circulate around the alchool stove , check this out th-cam.com/video/tdnu1elxpgo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=-Hn9xkr_5TgGF6GF&t=67

    What do you think about 5.11 backpacks?

    • @AlexWander
      @AlexWander  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I had some 5.11 packs, I had a Rush 24 and a rush 72, there are based on a very old conception and I wouldn’t buy them in 2024.
      I also tested the “Daily deploy 24” and it’s a good pack in its simplicity.
      The Skyweight 24 and 36 are well built with a better comfort.
      Hope it helps! Feel free to to ask more if you need!

    Nice informative video.. What is the reason for preferring this Kaipak only for mountains? What is your opinion and your experience with SINGI 48, which you apparently no longer use? Thanks..!

    • @AlexWander
      @AlexWander  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks, I prefer the kaipak for the mountain environment over the other two that became my latest favorites. I honestly often use it also when I’m going into the woods because it’s amazingly comfortable and there’s enough soace for everything, of course I wouldn’t use it to go into the city unless I’m traveling overseas.
      Don’t get me wrong, The singi 48 is an amazing pack but it’s weight way more that the kaipak also due to the wooden structure the back has .Last but not least a pack in a range between 35 to 40 instead of one that reaches almost 50, hope it helps!

    • @peetrnos
      @peetrnos 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AlexWander Thanks for the response.. Yes, I already understood - you prefer Kaipak in the mountains because there you usually need more space for equipment - tent etc. than in the forest..(I thought there is another reason). The Singi 48 is half a kilo heavier, but I assume that thanks to the back system it can be carried even more better for longer trips than Kaipak..especially when it is more loaded - for example in winter for several days when Kaipak may not be enough (groceries, winter sleeping bag, tent..etc). Sorry for my essays - I'm crazy about backpacks! (currently testing Gneik 42). Now I am searching for smaller (one day trip, 25-30l ) nice bushcrafty looking pack, beacuse I us it most.. Any suggestion? :-) Thx!

    • @AlexWander
      @AlexWander  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @peetrnos Lundhags makes greet packs! I’ve tested a couple of them while ago, Gneik included 🤙🏻 Are you looking for a more classic look bushcraft pack or something with more newer look/materials? So glad
      To share!

    • @peetrnos
      @peetrnos 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@AlexWander Yes, Gneik 42 looks good..fabric similar to G1000 (polyester+cotton) all buckles are metal , forest color, reasonable weight (1.6kg) .. The back is mesh - which may not be your cup of tea - not mine either - I've only tested it for a while and it seems comfortable and firm on my back even with a bigger load, so I probably won't have a problem with it. The backpack is so practical and well made that it will stay with me. Fjallraven however, looks more utilitarian and catches my eye a bit more.. :-) For one day events I will be looking for something just like that - utilitarian, classic, bushcrafty style..small forest backpack in a good color and material (less plastics) with a decent back.. Maybe a Kaipak 28 or Singi 28..or...? 🙂

    • @AlexWander
      @AlexWander  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@peetrnos metal buckels are almost eternals! it also birng to have less plastic on our pack which is good in my humble opinion, even if it's recycled plastic. I would personally go for the Singi 28 the waistbelt is more functional! Singi 28 for the win!

    • @AlexWander
      @AlexWander  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good question! My half and I bought a property lately, we bought a farmhouse that has been transformed in a proper home. I have filmed the last two videos in a section of the house that was a big stable that now we are rebuilding in order to make a proper "shelter" / photo and video studio. I'm wearing a coat because I use to film very early in the morning or at night and there are not any windows in place and it's cold 😁
