This is a wonderful community initiative, participants are taught the “how to” of trail building and to appreciate keeping such trails “natural”. There’s a tendency in SG to rely on the relevant authorities to build trails and the result is “manicured” trails. I am not complaining though because “manicured” are easier to hike on. 😊
A whole new items sir... not only beautiful mountain of Taiwan but and eye opening about the courses SG don't have all this... something new to have this kind of knowledge... thank you sir ♡♡

V informative and practical oriented course with real life surroundings! With the immense amt of deforestation (of whatever we hv left) doubt whether we in Spore can ever have, except in our wildest imagination!
Hi Richard Do be careful what u eat especially wild fruits picked in the mountain forest. The course you took is more like an opener on basic trail construction using farm tools and sledge hammers etc. Taiwan have heavy rains, earthquake and other natural disaster. I think the Taiwan government should do the constructions rather then the local people since its for tourism and safety to walk on the mountain trail.
原來台灣的古道是有這些志工在幫忙修復，難怪有一些山裡的登山步道看起來都很整齊都且很堅固，辛苦了，謝謝這些志工們！也謝謝參與的人們！

Natural construction methods using local materials and not pouring concrete are definitely the way to go!

每年超大雨過後的山間落石土石流的新聞不斷出現，有類似的工法可以運用上嗎？不然一直崩落，只好用醜陋無比的擋土牆來控制，好的結果是控制了，最慘的是累積的壓力太多一次釋放出來而釀成更大的災情
