  • Andrew Connors, Pastor of Brown Memorial Park Avenue Presbyterian Church in Baltimore, Maryland, preaches a sermon on this week’s Gospel lesson: Mark 6:30-34, 53-56. “For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat,” he begins, quoting the text, and then says, ”I hate it when the Bible sounds less like a history book and more like a description of life as we know it.” Because life as we know it is often too busy, too hurried, with no time to rest, and no time to eat.
