I'm staggered that Will has never made it big in the States or become a huge name like Sam Smith internationally. I think there has always been a huge problem with his management. His voice is so unique and instantly identifiable and IMHO far more pleasant on the ear than Sam Smith's. It's frustrating seeing his music go largely unnoticed by the wider public.
Will Young is another disposable pop star. America is already saturated with disposable pop stars. There's nothing any more special about his voice, and his music is typical of the fluff on the radio. I'm no fan of Sam Smith, but his music captured a zeitgeist here in America (a male Adele, if you will). If he performed frivolous fluff like Young, Smith wouldn't have that same career.
