Definatly not giving up, we will be back that way, just a bit more prepared next time. We allways seem to do more exploring than prospecting the first few times we visit an area. I know there has been some nice gold pulled out from that way, good to hear the place still has some treasure to yeild.
I visited Stuart Town commons myself a couple of years ago.Managed to crevice some nice little pieces in the main creek bed there accompanied by a million flies.Have some video of the place which I may put to TH-cam when I get a chance to compile it into a video or two.The geology is very interesting in the area.
We only ended up trying a few test pans on the creek itself which showed no heavys. We were going to get some material from the diggings itself and try some detecting but just got caught up exploring. Drove round the stuart town common as well but camera was dead by then. Had planned on spending an extra day out there but after sleeping (or trying) in the car the first night we just decided to head back early.
G'day Trev, i would love to see the vids if you do get a chance to go through them. The place reminded me of the Mongarlow(little river) diggings, was probably just the surfacing done.
Thanks for that, great vids. Love the quartz reef.

don't give up on the area too soon.....have picked up some nice nuggets around Stuart Town....not big but in the 2 to 3gram area.
