Could you give us a rundown, like a rule of thumb, when to go ap varus, onhit varus, crit varus, lethality varus as a bot adc? Cant wrap my head around this
@tribustone4557 AP when you already have a minimum of 2-3 AD champs on your team and enemy has hard to melt through champs like Volibear/Rammus/Jarvan to name a few. I don't play onhit too much since I prefer AP in those games but if you're vs HP stackers/lot of AP threats and you can't already go AP go onhit. Being able to build Wits/Terminus/Jaksho helps vs them. Crit Varus you can go majority of games since its the most flexible build, it has DPS, poke, burst all in one. You build that mainly vs squishy comps but it works vs 1-2 tanks as well. Lethality is for when enemy comp is squishy, outranges you and you can't get in too many autos safely. So it's good vs Cait and many of the APC botlaners like Veigar/Ziggs/Hwei/Syndra. Sorry I haven't uploaded in awhile but hope this helps
@@EisukeVarus Omg thx, didnt expect this quick response. Thank you so much. I was playing mid before and i tried out the ap locket varus mid pick and i loved the champion. Decided to switch to ADC to play this champ more. Thx, this answer my question.
yeah Crit still viable, something like Kraken>PD>IE still works really well. Even Collector>Shiv>IE still works. Long as you get AS either first or 2nd item.
Would you recommend on hit hybrid builds, ala kaisa style? Say bork rageblade nash defensive ap item rabadons? Sometimes when snowballing ill buy a dark seal even when full on hit. Also i tend to default to the on hit build. When would you reccommend going ap over on hit?
@ashtonshephard3852 yeah when you can go AP over onhit you should go AP majority of those times. If you cant go AP tho and they have lot of tanks thats when onhit is best best. Also yeah the hybrid builds are really nice right now if you like them

Or are you saying the general default should be ap when your teams AP/ad ratio has space for it, and then if there are tanks+an AP heavy ratio on your team you should just go onhit?
@ashtonshephard3852 the 2nd option you said yeah, then if enemy has no tanks and you already have AP on ur team you can Crit. Check my other Shiv video if you wanna see the crit build I do.

@markkeith4907 ofc, PtA is the rune that works best for Crit, you could try Fleet too but you'll notice a big lack in dmg for lane

Making us build around boring ass on-hit builds is honestly stupid. Why turn a champion like Varus into another version of Kog Maw or Kaisa?
