Great video! I am doing more writing so I understand what you mean when you say it's a good way to think. It is important to help get your thoughts out and to make sense of your world.
I read that book. It doesn't do what your intro says. It is just a sampling of other peoples writing. The concept is correct. It is sort of the "Feynman Method"; by explaining an idea you learn if you know it, and you will learn more about the idea by explaining it. Yes, do write about whatever. You will learn, but only if you a serious about it.
I am trying to write in length everyday. I think I'll write about my days, or my goals, or current events. What do you write about? How often do you write?
I write about my dreams so I can remember them better and fleshing out ideas that pop into my head. So if I have a movie scene pop in my head I expand it to make a video about it. I usually spend 30-45 min on it but when I started I spent 5-10 min and slowly built up. Good luck on your writing journey. 💪
Great video! I'm reading "On Writing Well" these days and I'm more inspired about it these days. What are your thoughts on e-notes vs handwritten notes for learning? In school, handwritten was the way to go because exams were handwritten too. Now when learning things for work, I am not sure what works.
On writing well is on my to read list, my dad said it's really good so I'm very keen. For notes writing physically will always be better for memory but I think writing notes in general is quite ineffective for learning. I red somewhere that writing questions instead of notes was better for learning and so far it pretty amazing I usually type the questions too so it's not as bad plus a lot of exams are digital nowadays in Australia at least so e notes are better in my opinion. I'll probs make a video about it soon so stay tuned.
59,000 of my thoughts each day involve ice cream.
Writing is essential for thinking clearly
Amen
I didn't watch the video, only read the comments and understood the gist of this video, and I can assume the importance of reading.
As a lover of writing, I endorse this eye-opening video. Thanks Michael.
