I love your projects! About 100 years ago I did a lot of beading and I used Nymo beading thread. What I did to keep the thread from curling was to take the ends of the thread and wrap the ends of the thread around the fingers of each of my hands and give the thread a few tugs. That should straighten out the curls. I hope I explained that well enough. You have a great time at stitch con, get a lot of stitching done while on your business meetings and enjoy your visit with your folks. Take care!!!
@@czookstitch488 I know me too ☹️. The first weekend is during VBS at my church and the second weekend is over Father’s Day and I hate to abandon my husband that weekend. One year I will get there!!
You should condition Nymo thread with bees wax to make it easier to work with. I bead jewelry and animals. I use wire with the animals and I enjoy it more. Beautiful progress on your projects.
You’re all Quakered out? I have 2 big Christmas Quakers to do so I hope I’ll enjoy. City sidewalks looks great. Love that blue you’re using for winter Quaker❤️
Have a wonderful time. I live in Puerto Rico so no chance of me going, but you enjoy and share a video so i feel like I was there. Thanks for input on confetti I will try some of your Suggestion but I don’t know how to count hehehe always making a mistake. Safe travels.
Ha ha! I don't know how to count either, which is why I like my method. Pattern Keeper is definitely worth getting accustomed to, if you haven't already. I can't say you won't make ANY mistakes with it, but it has sure helped me!
@@czookstitch488 i brought a tablet and installed pattern keeper my HAEDis already has been started I need to learn how to install it on pattern keeper. Haven’t taken the steps to do it. Guess I have to bite the bullet and do it. Thanks for the suggestions.
Hi, Carolyn. Good to see you again, my friend! Simon took one for the team and decided to be right there as tech support, so you wouldn't have another week of "take two!" Safe travels to you over these next couple of weeks. You kept me company with my stitching on a number of evenings while I was traveling in May. Enjoy your visit with your parents! Diane (Mondot Stitches on Flosstube) uses Nymo thread...she had a great tip that if you tug your length of Nymo thread a couple times such action causes the thread to soften up and become more like floss and easier to work with. She recently did a great video on "how she beads a Mirabilia." She may have mentioned this tip in that video or in the one right afterwards. Many hugs! Melissa
This is such a great tip about the Nymo thread - thank you so much! Simon is such a character! I go home tomorrow after being away from the boys for a week and a half and I’m so excited! ❤️❤️
Another wonderful video! I love seeing your progress on Autumn Quakers. I just bought all the stuff to make it too! Also, would you be willing to talk about good scissors for cross stitching. I’d like to buy myself a good pair but there are so many options!
I have to tease…. Lots to do indoors? Are you really waiting for me to paint? I don’t even have my passport girly! I am going to do my daughter’s baseboards in 2 weekends for my daughter and son in law while they and kids are away. Lol okay back to video! 😉😉 lots of great stitching! Have a great time in all your travels!
I have only stitched with DMC but would like to start to use silks and over dyed floss. Do you have any suggestions or tips on stitching with specialty floss?
Your projects look great especially Winter Quaker. Why don’t you limit yourself to two projects to Stitch-Co unless they’re all going to be in a carryon bag. I would be afraid the luggage would be lost with so many fliguts and you have worked so hard on them. When I came back from Monaco and had 5 different flights over 24 hrs. You guessed it, one of the bags were lost. Luckily it showed up a week later.
Oh my word - I would be in heart attack mode if my luggage got lost! I am carrying on my WIPS in a small(ish) bag that they won't make me check. I will guard it with my life!
I am working on Christmas dinner and there are black dots throughout the pattern which I can't find on the key. It looks like beads or white French knots. What do you think.
Have a blast at stitch con. Sounds like a lot of stitching, chatting and fun. Love your projects and kitty lol.
LOL - Simon needed the attention! We'll see how much stitching actually gets done!
Hope you have a wonderful time at Stitchcon. Thank you for the visit.
It was amazing!!
Love your progress on your wips. Happy stitching!
