Very good tradesman there and it is a really nice place, had my boat on the hard there for a while for an engine replacement. Best farmers market in the whole country.🌻
Glad you like my hometown, it's a great place to do anything on a boat. I have built 2 boats there and then sailed them around the Pacific for a bit. The town basin has changed so much from what I knew as a kid, there was only 20-30 boats there when my Dad had his moored on the piles.
A friend from New Zealand visited me in Vancouver, Canada, a few years ago and exclaimed 'Where are all the boats?'. I took him to False Creek, that probably has fifty or sixty boats anchored there and he said, that in the equivalent space back home, they would have squeezed in a few hundred boats. Now I can see what he meant.
Every circumnavigators seem to stop in NZ for a major refit. I wanted to take a route through Kiritmati, Phoenix, Gilbert islands etc. But is a stop in NZ almost inevitable, given the wear and tear on a boat with those long passages?
Thank you very much to take us with you to this nice place on Earth.👍😊
You're welcome
beautiful place...thanks for the video
🙏
lots of astonishing beauty

Great idea with the stoppers on the boom and mast. Something that I consider to mount also on my boat.
Yes nice indeed.
Love the music and my goodness NZ is GORGEOUS!
It is!
One of your best. A great expose of a unique marine town where it could be said that New Zealand and Oud Zeeland converge in spirit.
Thanks!
Interesting to see my old launch Tamure (Vindex 32)berthed next to you. Nelson based when I owned her. Good memories… thanks
Thanks for sharing!

Great to see all the work on your boat successfully completed, good job. Enjoyed your video and walk around. Where will you have Christmas?
Thanks. Will spend Christmas on Waiheke island.
I am one year behind of you (currently in Panama). At the pace you are maintaining, I won't be catching you!
Have fun in Panama! The Pacific is awesome.
Sea Dog was with that tall ship in Portugal

Yes I think so. In the Pacific there is not a lot of options where you can take care of your boat.

Kom je de Oosterschelde tegen, ongelofelijk
Ja bijzonder toch?
