Great question. A broad answer, especially since we're in Judges, is because the idols of the world (lust of the flesh, lust of the, and pride of life) cause weakness in our heart to be exposed. The same reason Isreal kept apostascising.

@-Thelordismyshepherd- I agree. You don't, and we aren't under the law. Most of us stumble into sin unknowingly, but once there, we tend to feed the flesh until God’s amazing grace. We call upon the Lord, and we will be saved.
