I appreciate the manner in which you walk the table, and plan the run out in real time, including the mistakes. You learn more from your mistakes - It’s called EXPERIENCE.
Proves that you're human . Family is something that is easy to take for granted, and having family, especially your dad show up is such an amazing thing. I do tell my opponent when I am going to the bathroom, but I do tell them that they can keep shooting. I do not believe in having my opponent wait unless they want to because I do not want them losing their rhythm.
Ryu! Missed you around here. These were silly losses, but I'm pretty happy with the overall play, so I'm not losing any sleep over it. Great thoughts about family. It really is special. The bathroom thing kinda threw me, but I don't think it messed with my game in any appreciable way. Agreed about respecting their inning/rhythm.
You were right to wait for him to return. On the other hand, an opponent should always say something to you when he's leaving the area for the bathroom or whatever. Also unless it is an pressing matter, he should wait until between racks.
Kind of like you, I don't really like shooting when my opponent is away. Makes room for all kinds of misunderstandings and/or conflicts even when they tell you it's OK. That said, what an unexpected outcome! what are the chances of two racks lost in a row with the same shot on the 10 missed the same way! :D
Yeah I just don't want to take the chance that they'll come back and moan about it. It's definitely disrespectful to walk away without notifying your opponent. As much as these videos help me to "process" these stinging losses (i.e. relive trauma lol), it is still comical to see how both games basically went the same way. What are the odds?
Tough losses; I’d much rather my opponent beat me badly than to play well and make one mistake that costs me the match. But it’s part the game and I have dwell on the good part of my game and recognize the mistakes as opportunities for improvement.
Seriously. Doing all that hard work and selling out two 10s was a stinger. Good point about focusing on what went well in the match; I think I've gotten better at this.
@@OnTheSnap problem is concentration !! No matter how serious i try to take each shot i end up not taking an easy shot serious during a drill, or I think i am but im not - LOL esp hard after ige to shot 19 on a 25 shot drill, mess it up then try to start over again. Buuuttt!!!! i appear to b getting better even though practice seems to suck a lot of tomes !!
Never had someone leave in the middle of an inning before. I’d look for their team captain and let him/her know I’m going to keep shooting. Between innings or between racks I would wait unless they say go ahead and someone from their team is watching the table too.
Yeah it was a weird choice. His team was there, so I didn't think there would be an issue continuing even without his go ahead, but I didn't want to risk it. I also think (maybe passive-aggressively), I wanted to stand there and wait to show him that he made me wait hoping it would show him it was a faux pas. 🤷
@OnTheSnap ah I understand your thinking there. I guess I don’t trust others to understand what I’m trying to be passive aggressive about. If I know their captain I’d just straight up tell the captain to have a chat with their player. I’ve had to do that before with someone who didn’t know rules.
Ouch! This illustrates how fickle the game can be... where even a lower skilled player has a chance to win. You were swerving, banking, cutting for shape and playing great overall, and only made mistakes at 2 inopportune times. I guess this is the drama that makes us love and hate the game. LOL
I normally wait on an opponent to take the bathroom break as long as they tell me, but if they rack and leave without saying anything, and I’m in stroke, I’ll ask their scorekeeper “continue” ? And go from there. I’ve only had one person say something about me breaking and shooting. I told them that they didn’t invite me to go with them so how was I to know ? Game two been there, done that. Easy to see the entire time that you thought you were trying to regroup but you were really talking yourself into that miss. Focused entirely on what how did I do this to myself again and whatcould go wrong. Been there, done that many times.
"Didn't invite me to go with" hahaha I can remember to ask another member of their team if I should continue - I like that idea. I don't want to break my flow, especially if they care about it less than I do. I really did talk myself into that miss, despite my best efforts. Too much focus on recovering and not enough on just having a good process...

Thanks for that. Couldn't agree more; mistakes are valuable for identifying flaws. Recording myself and discussing it has been very useful.

@@cosc137 Ah jeez. Feel better soon! Lots of content for you in the past few weeks in case you need something to watch while you're recovering ;)
I enjoyed the game and liked seeing myself in the room watching.ha
Love dad
Haha nice one. Love you, too.
Ladies face 7:59 lol
haha cracked me up when I saw it in the video
If I'm in the middle of an inning and my opponent walks away, it's on them whatever happens. They should really wait until your turn is done.

Agreed on all of the above.
Leaving the table without telling your opponent is rather rude.
Yeah, I agree.
I agree and without notification I quite honestly might not notice his absence especially if you have to go get your jump cue.

So true. The drama is there at all levels of the game, and it does make for compelling viewing! Still stings to see the games go this way sometimes.
