Fantastic and beautiful speakers and you spoiled their beauty with poor video skills. Most people don't understand video so I suppose it's to be expected. I stopped watching due to the aimless nature of the video work.
I can only imagine the cost of such a set of these speakers. ? Are the woofers servo controlled ??? Probably not but wow I can imagine the sound is incredible. Especially with a good LP player or SACD
not opriginal woofers and lansing is the same as L in JBL(ansing), people talk about coloured sound what is that lansing device but a two way equalizer presence is mids and brightness are highs, the original speakers had them but this as it´s own Lansing controls that basically one brand lead to the other allthough they are still considred two brands,as i have first some altec lansing ,maybe 1970 later the JBL´s and even a bit later the exclusive pioneer 2401 twin, all looked the same in model( all were made by the same engenier that made also for pioneer the HPM´s the reason why they sounded so good when released),this ones are worked and changed or maybe improved ,allthough one can´t improve perfection
, burl wood and looks like mahogany wood I think. anyways, has to be a half million dollars worth of the finest wood/speaker combination on the planet, beautiful doesn't come close to describing these speakers. I can see good ole mighty sitting back listening to a pair of these
This doesn't make any sense. Why would you put external crossovers on the place where they vibrate the most???.. My Tannoy GR's have now two external crossovers on amp stands totally isolated from the speaker. They are better than these concentric drivers sound so different
Lansing Audio, can you tell us, what song is playing in this video? It is probably something from a Sound Test Disk. Maybe Dali Disk 2 or something like that ...
very strange to see SCR caps in this system. They are the cheapest option on the market! Only one bonus: no coloration. But no air, no stage depth, no sence of presence/atmospere, small detail are hiden and smoothed out...this system deserve much better caps to open its potential on the other level!
the wood working on those is SO BAD !!!! you can see all the problems in the finish as the light shines on them.. PLUS looks like a three pc 5/4 lam glue up om the Mid Horn... OH .. this is not good work at all if you know wood working or Finishing... The top caots are not even at all... even the Burl lam is done poorly ....

Absolutely stunning sound but even if I could afford them,albeit the finish is beautiful,I really couldn't live with them. For me,a speaker could have the best I've ever heard but I need to look at them and if I cant do that,that's most definitely a deal breaker.
I'm with you on this one. I'm sure they sound great. And I don't doubt the craftsmanship and work that went into them. Tastes are individual, but for me those are some very unattractive speakers. I don't think I could stand looking at them.
Mids sound a might coloured to me . It's that cupped hands sound I often hear from horns. Granted I probably need to hear them in person to be sure. It could be recorder/room interactions

I would like to hear better low-frequency diffusers. There are sounds of low rigidity of the cone architecture. Such woofers need more cabinet volume, or a more internally stressed diffuser.
