- I review the Mondo X-Men Gambit based on the X-Men Animated Series. Recently, season 1 of X-Men '97 has wrapped up leaving many of us craving more of our favorite mutants. Does this Gambit action figure hit all the right marks or is it big and cumbersome?

I had the exact same motivations for getting this one. It was just supposed to complement the Rogue figure. Nice to see it’s more than just a very expensive filler

I don't own any Mondo stuff, so don't throw too many stones my way, lol. Rogue and Gambit look nice, but these figures really just look like upscaled Marvel Legends with better deco and more accessories to me. I don't know...maybe those improvements plus the lower production runs justify the prices. Do they really feel that much better? I'd at least like to see a little more articulation range. Regardless, nice review as always!
Edit: I feel to compelled to add that the ass they put on Rogue is a national treasure, lol. Maybe she's worth it!
I would never call these upscaled Marvel Legends. Not even close. Honestly, you just gotta find a friend locally and check one out
@@NostalgiaUnboxed What do the joints feel like? Like an SHF or something? I don't know anybody local who owns any Mondo stuff...maybe I can check one out at a toy shop or something. I'm intrigued, at least! At the end of the day, I really don't have space for a 1/6 scale collection anyway, so I should probably just ask for people to talk me out of looking into them any more deeply, lol...

@@NostalgiaUnboxed I didn't pull the trigger on the timed Edition with the sentinel base and alternate Rogue heads... I listened to Hatter, exclusive or bust.
Since I didn't want to start a new line I chickened out.
These mondo xmen are beautiful, I just wish they were 1:12 scale.

I like to get him to go with my Rogue, but then I'd want to get brown Wolverine but then that would lead to wanting to get Cyclops!🤦♂️ So I think I'll just get the female Xmen & wait for Jean Grey!

Probably wouldn’t look as good, but maybe with them making the Real Ghost Buster at 6.5” we will see what they can do
Mondo is great when it comes to accessories, but for the amount of money they charge, you would think they would have more articulation.

Once I got into the line, I had long since missed the timed edition of Gambit. I’m glad that they not only released a standard edition with Rogue, but he’s not a “deluxe or bust” figure. This one is great…lol and I’m very glad that I didn’t spend $400 on eBay for the earlier release.
He was back on their site yesterday (the timed edition)

It’s frustrating because while these figures look so good, I have zero interest in this massive scale nor the price tag associated with it.

It looks incredible. After watching your video- I'm now glad I decided to pick a Gambit up to go with my Rogue. The details, the shading, the paint job, the accessories. Couldn't have asked for more. I'm so thankful for your posing section on this guy, cause I just had such a tough time trying to find a cool pose for him because of the limitations at the elbows. But now I have like ten to choose from.
To the card... I initially thought it was an effect to pop over the top of a playing card (which would have been really cool), but I don't mind it as is.

Not sure if Hatter sent you the pic I sent him of Gambit with an arm off? The shape of the pegs makes switching the arms on this fella very difficult. I did it but the one coming off was destoyed in the process.

You’ll be happy to know my entire collection is stored in a 120 degree garage so by the time I move back home the packages may be warped and melted to hell and I’ll have to open two metric tons of figures and spend the next century crying about it

I think the card hands are meant for a before and during the card spring flourish. You could pair them with a normal relaxed hand when using them? Both at the same time makes it look like there are too many cards or they are really thick

Hes so badass tho and that's the only part I found a "problem" with and that's nothing. Those figures are what Marvel Legends should look like plus on steroids and absolutely too close to perfection. That's why refuse to get them lol. My other figs would be irrelevant compared to those or any other 1/6 scale done by a reputable company
